Conditioner -Suave -Professionals Thick and Full Conditioner Caffeine & Chia Infusion

on 1/20/2019 6:56:00 PM

I have a love/hate relationship with Suave hair care products. I love finding a great product and I hate knowing they will discontinue it sooner rather than later. I've learned to appreciate Suave hair care lines like a summer camp romance: go ahead and enjoy it while it lasts, but don't get attached. So, I usually try out their new product lines even as I know about 3 out of 5 of them will turn out to be duds, because of those 2 I love, I will LOVE with all the love. So it is with this new version of the Thick & Full conditioner. Suave has released it under the Infusion line, infused with Caffeine and Chia seed oil. I'd been looking for a new pre-styling conditioner, and this one looked promising. I was a little worried it was going to smell like coffee or salad dressing because I'd tried products with both of these ingredients before that unfortunately did, but my worries were unfounded. This new Infusion smells perfumey great, like old school Goldwell conditioner before that brand started experimenting with weird boutique scents. The performance of the conditioner was exactly what I wanted from it, no more, no less. Basically it gives the strands a protective coating of 'cones, to make it appear fuller, enhance shine and allow it to stand up to heat styling better. And it washes back out easily with clarifying shampoo. This is no treatment conditioner and I have no illusions about the star ingredients really being able to do much for my hair given that they are fairly low on the list of ingredients. This is a great pre-styling conditioner for the money and it smells fantastic, and that is exactly what I wanted.

Shampoo -Suave -2 in 1 Plus

Ugh. I should have checked MUA before grabbing this. It was cheap, and I was looking for a basic simple 2-in-one that i could rotate with my other shampoos, and still use it with my regular conditioner. It lathers nice, smells gentle....but...

Whatever it is, something in this makes your hair clean, but also frizzy and flat. I noticed right away after 2 washes, my hair color looked more dry, brassy--- even with still using my regular hello hydration conditioner!

Will not use again and plan to donate. Suave is a hit and miss, their clarifying shampoo is great and does a better job than this but I dont want to use it every day. For a 2-in-one, Ill just stick with my bf's Pert Plus, which does a great job instead.

Shampoo -Suave -Daily Clarifying Shampoo

I used to use this all of the time* and I don't know why I stopped. Maybe because it's so inexpensive, I thought I could do better if I paid more.

I'd been using Pantene Sheer Volume for the past 8 mths or so. My hair was feeling coated down to the scalp, dry, and frizzy. While I don't think the Pantene SV was the cause (or was it?), it certainly wasn't helping matters or clarifying very well. I used this today and, finally, my hair feels clean and full again. I also noticed that I could use it without monitoring the amount as carefully, to prevent getting that overstripped feeling like I would with the Pantene SV.

(* The shampoo I just bought is light blue and not clear like the one pictured here. "Waterfall mist" is now absent on the label, and it says "Essentials Daily Clarifying" but the color, consistency and scent are identical to what I used to use. And even if it isn't the same exact product, relabeled- no matter, the performance is the same.)

I would give this 5 stars but the scent of the the Essentials Daily Clarifying blue version is just ok-- it sort of smells like fresh laundry. It's not terrible, but it is fairly strongly scented and not my personal preference. (I like coconut/tropical/fruit scents). Next time I'll buy the (presumably unscented?) clear version.

Conditioner -Suave -Professionals Sleek Conditioner

I hated this conditioner the first time I tried it a few years ago. Everyone else seemed to love it, so I was bummed.

It's 2019 now and they reformulated it at some point. The bottle is no longer orange. I like the new formula. It is very silicone heavy and has other stuff like lactic acid in it to smooth out the hair. For less than $3 it left my hair soft.

You will need to use a shampoo with this beforehand. It's a little on the heavy side and offers no cleansing abilities.

I'll repurchase.

Styling Products -Suave -Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray

I have naturally curly, frizzy hair. It’s to the middle of my back. I have literally tried every hairspray known to man to control my hair but keep it from being stiffπŸ˜©πŸ˜©πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I FOUND ITπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌ I had this infer my counter and decided to give it another try. So glad I didπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ. The trick is to hold it away from your hair and it will hold and not feel stiff or sticky. I always thought you had to spray alt of hairspray on and spray it close to your hair...WRONGβŒπŸ›‘. Hold it like 5 inches from your hair and sort of mist it. I seriously sleep with this in my hair and wake up it still has the shape. Thanks SuaveπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
