Treatments (Face) -La Prairie -anti-aging rapid response booster

on 1/31/2019 9:08:00 PM

I got a sample of this. There is no way this is worth $330 dollars. Absolutely not. On their website, it claims it "hydrates intensely", that's just not true. I have normal to dry skin and I didnt find it to be moisturizing. It actually dries pretty fast. It has a nice gel like texture and it spreads easily however OMG THE FRAGRANCE!!! Awful! The scent it's way too strong, overpowering. Just by glancing at the ingredients I dont see what's so special about this, the few first ingredients: "Water, Propanediol , Glycerin , Dimethicone , Butylene Glycol , Glycoproteins, Panax Ginseng Root Extract..." Dont recommend this if you have a sensitive nose. I like strong perfumes, but I dont want them on my face. This felt like applying perfume on my skin.

Treatments (Eye) -La Prairie -Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift Cream

on 1/27/2019 4:41:00 PM

I’ve been wanting to try this eye cream for so sooo long but I couldn’t justify the price. So I took the plunge and purchased this at Nordstrom with accumulated gift card plus 100$ out of my pocket! This stuff is damn expensive!! The packaging is gorgeous- vanity worthy but I kept it in a drawer where it is dark so not to lose its efficacy. Given the price tag I wouldn’t even risk it ( it has become a hidden prized possession lol). I would prefer given its price a lil more product in the jar, just sayin’...
The product is dispensed with an accompanying spatula. The texture is light but has some good weight. Spreads like silk on the skin. Absorbs quickly. Again I don’t need much as a tiny amount spreads well along the eye contour. I have not had any negative reactions to this cream. It’s a really++ nice eye cream!
To be honest as proud as I am to own this jewel I do have reservations mostly due to the steep price tag. After using it for about x6 weeks I cannot say it has a ‘wow ‘factor. I don’t see anything notably different than that of my holy grail eye cream Clarins Restorative Total Eye Concentrate does at a fraction of the price.
Overall I’m glad I purchased this, it’s a beautiful eye cream that does its job at moisturizing the eye area really well, but for the price it’s just not worth it...

Treatments (Face) -La Prairie -Platinum Rare Cellular Life-Lotion Rejuvenating and Detoxifying Treatment Lotion

on 1/18/2019 4:28:00 PM

This is a turbid elegant light pink somewhat thicker emulsion that might be difficult to dose from the very small opening of the bottle.
At application it is easy to smooth over the skin and absorbed easily leaving a perceptible feel of (light) hydration on the skin.
I believe that it might be enough in a warm and humid climate alone before application of sunscreen/foundation.

Launched in February 2019.
"Platinum Rare Cellular Life-Lotion is the first step in a new beginning for skin. An unparalleled formulation drawn from the source of life that regenerates to rejuvenate."

Looking at the ingredients list, the only ingredient I can find that can back the above statement is Niacinamide (Vitamin B3). I believe that it is in a concentration somewhere 1-3%.
This lotion contains dimethicone and Isononyl Isononanoate as emollients, glycerin and several glycols as humectants.
This results in the turbidity of the lotion.

It has some actives, a pretty pink colour and some added particles that provide a light glittery effect after application on the skin (Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate).

It has a light and pleasant fragrance that dissipates quickly after application.

Retails for USD 655 for 115 ml (3.9 oz.) bottle.

It is definitely a product no one needs. In my opinion, there is nothing in the formula that could even remotely justify a fraction of the outrageous price. One definitely pays for the very fancy packaging with the advanced solution used for the closing mechanism.

Treatments (Eye) -La Prairie -Essence of Skin Caviar Eye Complex

So far so good! I use roughly 1 drop of this gel for each eye area, pat in with my finger until it's roughly absorbed and then follow with the Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift Cream and then sun protection which is currently Coola SPF30. On its own (which I trialed for a few days prior to using both) it had an 'awakening' effect, making my eye area look more rested and like I'd had a good nights sleep (if only!). Using both together I get an even better effect - much more hydration plus the cream seems to sink in better. I don't usually suffer from bags under my eyes so cannot comment on how it works for them, but as an eye treatment this is pretty good stuff and as a bonus whatever eye makeup I apply after glides on smoother as though I've just used a primer. May just have to save up and purchase the full size once this runs out...

Lotions/ Creams -La Prairie -La Prairie - Cellular Body Emulsion [DISCONTINUED]

It is truly sad that La Prairie had decided some years ago to remove this excellent hydrator from their line.

This lotion had a fluid yet substantial feel to. Was easy to apply and adsorbed quickly leaving a dry silky feel with substantial (and lasting) moisture behind.
I found this product lighter that absorbed quicker, yet a better moisturizer than any of La Mer's body products, or any other products from La Prairie intended for the body.

I also liked the added fragrance of the La Prairie signature scent.
