I'm so disappointed in all the reviewers who missed the best part of this scent, which is the INCENSE in the dry down.

I got a generous decant from a lovely swapper very recently; I was intrigued to try Balle de Match after reading its notes: I like green, refreshing and citrus scents for summer.
This one is a very unique citrus/green fragrance, I have to say the staying power is higher than the average of classic citrus fragrances (whose essential oils are are very volatile therefore they do not stay …

Balle de Match starts off with a zesty, vibrant top note of grapefuit that is exciting and entrancing. Normally I don't care for the bitterness of grapefruit but this seemed different for some reason. Then, Balle de Match dries down into a lovely unisex cologne that is elegant yet sporty. There is not a discordant or unpleasant note in the entire sniffing experience. And, as a diehard …Read more

Terrific, bracing lime-incense scent with a strong peppery edge. PdN has a terrific way with their citrus fragrances, as they are all unique and sometimes surprising. Nice for both men and women.

This is a great walk in the votanical garden of your dreams. For me the most strong citrus smell is not of grapefruit but by lime.Very easily the perfume becomes spicy with a dash of dry pepper. As always Nicolai's perfumes have a great lingering drydown of amber and moss with an extra spicy resin that really melts like second skin.Still i prefer New York over this

A unique twist on a citrus fragrance. This starts with a burst of fresh pink grapefruit and lime. Next, I picked up pine, bay and pepper with a dry down of soft musk, bay and incense. This could easily work on men or women. If you like citrus scents this is a must to sample.

I had been meaning to sample this fragrance for over a year now, but after getting singed by Eau d’Ete, I was a little hesitant to try another PdN perfume. Shame on me! This is the perfect zingy scent for those who think that citruses are all boring variations of sweet lemon candies. Grapefruit, basil, and lime give this a sporty feel, while the incense and pine deepens and warms it so that it …Read more

Balle de Match opens with grapefruit - an entire orchard's worth of grapefruit condensed into one spritz. However, it's appealing grapefruit. Normally, the phrase "appealing grapefruit" would qualify as an oxymoron for me, but this is the second grapefruit scent I've found recently that I'm finding to be addictively beautiful and genuinely appealing. It …Read more

With first spray, it's as if you've squeezed the juices of grapefruit and lemon rinds onto your skin. I now realize that it's not so much lemon-dominated citruses that offend me, but certain perfume renditions that clash with my taste, for this sprinkling of fresh juices is nothing short of pleasantly galvanizing. Basil and thyme are woven into the initial burst and assist in …Read more

The perkiest of lemons, grapefruit and herbs open up Balle de Match, giving way to a lime-infused pine wood base. Tart, but not acidic or bitter, refreshing, but complex and layered, this is a wonderfully composed scent. A great man's summer cologne, but definitely wearable almost year round for women.
