Twilight is a near-dupe (if not an exact match) to Essieís Starry Starry Night. The base color is a dark navy creme with tons of tiny silver glitter flecks that, when applied, make your nails look like the night sky. Itís a very cool effect. The glitter isnít chunky and it doesnít make the polish thick or gritty, but it adds fabulous depth as you build up the layers. There also isnít too much of it. Iíve used other glitter polishes and the glitter is so overwhelming you canít see any of the base color. This isnít the case with Twilight. The blue is very visible and the glitter is small enough to only be there for effect. Application is sheer but I believe this is necessary to get the right look. If the coats were too thick you would only be able to see the glitter on the top layer. I think this really needs to be built upon layer by layer for it to work. The first layer went on smoothly and the glitter was already noticeable. The second layer added more color/glitter and lightly covered the glitter already on the nail, while adding a second layer of glitter. This really gives it great depth and makes the first layer look like, wellÖa starry night with tons of stars, some close up, some far away. As you build the layers the glitter in the earlier layers darken while the ones closer to the top really twinkle. I did 3 coats and that seemed to be enough to get full coverage and allow enough glitter to be visible. With a layer of SV on top I had incredible shine and staying power. I believe this one is kind of HTF but if you can get your hands on it or Starry Starry Night I definitely recommend it. This is a very cool and unique polish.
