Toners -Alba Botanica -Acnedote Deep Cleaning Astringent

I'm enjoying this so far but it definitely has a few downsides.

Pros:
- controls oil
-makes skin look very even
- a lot of product in one bottle

Cons:
- not sure if it's helping with breakouts
-takes forever to dry, so makes the morning routine go a little slower
- packaging is annoying, the screw on cap makes it easy to pour too much

I don't want to say it's completely ineffective as far as controlling breakouts because I just got back on birth control a month ago and have been trying out new mineral powders, masks and moisturizers so I'm going to give it some time and see if maybe those factors are what are causing me to break out like a teenager before I say this isn't good for us acne-prone folks.

Body Scrubs -Alba Botanica -Hawaiian Detox Frothy Scrub

I am a longtime fan of Alba Botanica Acnedote Face and Body Scrub, so when I saw this at TJMaxx, I thought, "why not?". The ingredients are different with the addition of Bentonite Clay. I like to use that ingredient for masks so I figured it would make a nice scrub! Turned out, I was not disappointed! I like the faint earthy, beachy smell to it. Almost like sand that has been baking in the sun all day long then drenched in sea water. Very gender-neutral. And it doesn't come out of the container super fast like with the Acnedote Scrub, so you don't have to worry nearly as much about wasting product. My skin feels very clean after I use this product, but not overly so to the point of being dry. like other scrubs I have tried. I especially like to scrub my back with this :) It helps get rid of dead skin and since it is so gentle, it leaves my skin feeling super soft. Upon comparison, Acnedote's tingly effect is not felt with the Hawaiian Detox Scrub (different ingredients, different effect).. But I find that this formula is very nice and I'm positive I'll pick up another bottle in the future.

Scrubs -Alba Botanica -Good & Clean Toxin Release Scrub

Dealing with acne prone skin for nearly 20 years now. About 5 years ago I started using facial scrubs daily. I know, I know...you're not supposed to use them daily...they tear your skin.... I KNOW. But I'm nearly 40 and I still break out like a teenager! I used the St. Ives Apricot Scrub for years but I felt like I out grew it. I discovered the Alba Botanica Good & Clean facial product line about 3 years ago while pursuing the beauty section at Marshalls. I was looking for a new facial wash and scrub. I bought the Alba Botanica Daily Detox Foaming Cleanser (separate review) and this facial scrub. I love it. I do use it daily and have been for 3 years now. It's gentle and all natural using 100% vegetarian ingredients and doesn't have any parabens, phthalates, or synthetic fragrances. It exfoliates well enough to keep build up from from accumulating and causing more acne. Although you can find these at Target, Walgreens, Rite-Aid and CVS, it runs about $7-$10 at those locations for a 4oz bottle. I still go to Marshalls for these products as they are only $4-$5 bucks and for that price I'll buy multiple bottles. I have also purchased on Amazon as it is also less expensive than the retail drug stores.

Skincare - Body -Alba Botanica -Very Emollient Bath & Shower Gel - Midnight Tuberose

I bought two huge bottles of this at TJ Maxx for like $7.99 each and they were worth every penny! The scent really envelopes you in the shower, so relaxing, my husband could smell the fragrance wafting into our bedroom and he loved it! Creates a soft and very soft and moisturizing lather which feels great. To top it off, this doesn't irritate me or my daughter's sensitive skin! I will definitely repurchase this item again and again!

Conditioner -Alba Botanica -Hawaiian Marula Miracle Therapy Moisture Conditioner

This conditioner contains kukui nut oil (Aleurites Moluccana Seed Oil). It doesn't contain sulfates or silicones or parabens or a long list of other chemical ingredients. It has great slip and a very faint fragrance. It doesn't smell like coconut or pineapple or anything Hawaiian, which I find a plus. The kukui nut oil is supposed to be great for frizz. I follow the Curly Girl Method with no silicones, mostly because silicones weigh my hair down. I have fine, naturally curly hair and this product doesn't weigh down my curls. I also use it as a leave-in, although there is a leave-in conditioner in this line. There is also a cleansing conditioner, but I use a sulfate-free shampoo with neem and tea tree from Alaffia. I bought this conditioner at Whole Foods for around $10 for 12 oz., which I think is a little pricey. I don't use that much, though to get the slip I need. I used the Alba Botanica fragrance free line of shampoos, conditioners, and hair gels for years, and my hair was in great condition. They discontinued that line, unfortunately.
