This mask is working well for me. The results are so good I fear jinxing myself by saying this because with my dry, uber sensitive, very reactive skin, I never believed I could use this. However I can't handle physical scrubs I once did, the grains always do more harm than good. I can no longer tolerate even buffing in mineral makeup. But when this didn't irritate my neck or chest I did a patch test on my face. I get no stinging, tingle, just a shiny face. Then I rinse with plain water, no soap and I'm kind of amazed. I felt I needed exfoliation especially for my upper cheeks where I am prone to clogs and redness. My clogged pores manifest in small bumps making makeup application difficult. But this mask minimizes those bumps and redness. My skin looks calm and clear after and younger. Will update further in the future but hopefully will only say the same.

I love this mask! Fruit ezymes like papaya are a more gentle, natural exfoliant than scrubs like, St. Ives with those rough crushed walnut shells. It does sting/tingle a bit when you put it on, but it's nothing unbearable or uncomfortable, at least for me. The mask has a jelly-like consistancy, and doesn't harden. You leave it on for for 5 minutes like the instuctions state (although I go a bit longer: 10 to 15 minutes to really benefit from the exfoliation of the enzymes) and rinse it off. If you leave it on longer, it is a little more difficult to rinse off, so a wash cloth or a facial sponge helps. And you're left with soft, smooth glowing skin. I use it every other day, but my skin can handle it, not sure about sensitive skin types. Maybe a couple times a week would be good for those skin types. This is relativiely affordable for a store brand enzyme mask, I bought mine at Walmart for $10.47 It comes in a plastic tub, but I would have rather preferred a squeeze tube for sanitary reasons. Overall, I am satisfied with this product and it will remain a stable in my beauty routine for a long time!

I bought this mask at walmart after trying the cleanser. Well let me say that I have sensitive and acne prone skin. The cleanser broke my face out bad. I used it for about 2 weeks hoping that my face needed to adjust to it, but it didnt. So I used the mask. It didnt burn. I didnt see anything that it done to my face, yet. It just smells good and it has a good texture.

Wow, I'm really shocked at the great reviews. Used it for the first (and last) time last night. My skin started stinging and turning bright red within a minute. It was so horrifying I had to wash it off right away. Not sure if I was allergic to something in there or if this was a bad/expired lot, so too scared to try this again.

I've used this few months back and yes the entire jar. I must say I was amazed at how well it worked for my sensitive skin. This honestly did shrink my pores...a lot! It also helped to minimize some discoloration on my cheeks, not completely, but it did help.

Leaves my face very smooth. It does shrink my pores pretty well also. Pleasant fragrance, and sensation. It did not feel like it was stinging me at all.

I love this stuff! If I am breaking out, it clears up my pimples immediately. Even if I'm not, its still nice for use as an exfoliating mask, it shrinks pores and leaves skin glowing. Its less expensive than department store brands, but works just as well. I'm not sure if it would be good for people with really dry or sensitive skin, it does sting a little. But if you have oily to combination to normal skin, especially with some mild acne, give it a try. I have combination skin and find I can leave it on for much longer than 5 minutes. I use once a week.

This stings the living daylight out of my skin. Have tried many other products from this line and I'm disappointed I have such a reaction. I can't bare this mask for more than 30 seconds, its stings so badly. My skin is not super sensitive, not breakout prone, not oily/dry. It's fairly normal. I have never had a reaction like this to a product before.

This was the first product I ever got on the recommendation of reviews here at MUA, and it's been about a year now, so I think I can safely add my 2 cents.
Quick review: <3

Longer review:
Over the summer, I used this twice a week, but this fall I'm down to once bi-weekly (it's dryer out and I need my layers). It's such a good refresher and an easy treat. Fairly easy to find in stores nearby, lasts a good long while, and delivers consistently.
Like others here I was concerned about the jar-hygiene thing, but lately have started applying masks with a soft paintbrush. If you want to try, you scoop out a little on your brush and put it on the back of your hand. Then, you use your hand like a painter's palette and brush on what you want to use. Massage the rest into your hands when you're done.
Apparently, plenty of women have been doing this for ages, but I had no idea. Works wonderfully and solves the open jar-&-fingers issue for me. Just passing along the fyi.
(& thanks to the MUA community! you're cool beans.) continued >>

I have very sensitive skin and most of the masks tend to break me up badly. But this gel mask is wonderful. It is light, smooth, cooling, and smelling great. And it does wonders with the texture of my skin. Generally, I use it twice a week, but also as a SOS retexturizer whenever I want glowing skin and flowless makeup. It really works and is very cheap for the quality, I am buying it for less than $9 from www.iherb.com (code TOV 126 for $10 discount).

I am one of those who read reviews but rarely write one. This product just had to be reviewed! I bought this along with the alba cleanser - my skin is oily, acne prone, and the fact that I just has a baby 6 weeks ago doesnt help my skin very much. I like the ease of application, the feeling afterwards, and so far I have not broken out! It's a miracle coz I break out extremely often. I am certain I have tried almost all of the store brand stuff and a few of the pricey stuff. This, by far, is my fab product. I use it every other day ( I wish it said how often to use it - on the reviews it says can be used everyday but I am a bit Leary about using it everyday). This is what I have been doing for the past two weeks - I wash my face with the alba cleanser, massage a bit with my recently started jojoba oil, wash that off and then use this mask. It leaves my skin glowing! Almost instantly! I noticed a difference in th way my skin and pores looked the very next day. The only thing I do not really like is the having to dip in the jar ( not very hygienic but I can live with it).

Pros: Leaves you glowing!
Cost effective
Lovely scent
Easy to apply and remove
Time effective (5 min. facial)
Cons:
Stings slightly
Unhygienic jar
Very nice basic mask that does what it promises.
No gimmicks and organic to boot!
Not too keen on the packaging;
...but I guess that's what cotton swabs are for.
Very economical; you need about a teaspoon to cover your face.
Using it 1x/wk this should last a good 6 months!
I would recommend this mask:
it's a good product that does what it advertises.

Since this is a mask that removes dead skin cells by means of enzymes, my routine is to wash my face with physical exfoliators (like jojoba beads/etc) a facial scrub. the face scrub gets the heavier dead skin cells and dirt off of my face - and for fine cleaning i use this alba mask :)
After using a facial scrub, and then using this mask - i felt some mild stinging that went away. I didn't pay attention to time and waited until it was all dried.
Rinsed it in lukewarm water (hot water always strips your skin).
My skin felt so soft and smooth - also hydrated. This is my second time purchase. Works well.

Well, I have this mask on right now, and I've used it a couple times before. It really doesn't do anything amazing to the skin, and I wasn't expecting it to heal my acne scar or even my skintone out with just a couple of uses. What I do notice right away though is an instant glow and my skin does feel very hydrated. I do not feel a burning sensation, as other people mentioned. I will definitely update this review after I've used this more. Right now, I would just rate this as good, but not great. I have used better masks, but we'll see what the future holds. Oh, but it does smell absolutely wonderful though...mmm!!!!

I have heard great things about this product and just purchased it today. It's kinda pricey. I got mine for almost $15 at Walgreen. I'm hoping this will work for me as it did for most people.

This mask is mildly exfoliating, it's not amazing but I think is pretty good for the price which is why I rated it 4 lippies.

Very happy with this mask! I had been using a pumpkin enzyme peel mask by another manufacturer for the past year but was tired of paying the high price. I bought the Alba Botanica mask at Rite Aid on a whim and have been using for about three weeks, 2 or 3 times a week. Never have any stinging or burning, just a pleasant sensation. My skin is definitely looking smoother and less congested, and it's great to use just before putting on makeup. At about a quarter of the cost of what I had been using, this is a fantastic bargain.

Product rave! I love this mask. I have been using french green clay masks for several years (they work great for acne breakouts) but have been looking for something less drying and more soothing on my skin. This mask is a greenish gel that is cooling on the skin, smells wonderful and leaves my skin positively glowing. I have been using it once a week and so far have had great results with it (I leave it on longer than what it says on the jar - up to 20 minutes). I cannot say enough great things about this product - my skin just loves it. I wish it were a little less expensive (about $13 where I live) now that I know I will be repuchasing it, but I still think it's worth every penny because a little bit goes a long way.

I Love this Product! Alba is a natural line with only natural ingredients, that are very high quality. I was surprised that this product was only around 4 dollars. It has such great ingredients that are awesome for your skin. You only need a tiny, tiny amount, because a little goes a long way. It all should last you a long time. When I first tried it, it burned my skin a little, but then after a couple minutes it was so soothing. The burning was the papaya, and other ingredients breaking up the dead skin cells. It comes off with water easily, and does not dry or peel on your face. It also is lightly scented like the tropics! You only leave it on for five minutes. It left my skin smooth, hydrated, and glowing. The more you use it, the better your skin feels! I would say it is good for all skin types, because each person in my family uses it, and we all have different skin types. It works great for all of us. I would recommend it to anyone! :)
