Hmmm, not sure about this one. I actually have both this and Loverdose Tattoo, and there's nothing "wrong" with the smell, but I just don't ever find myself reaching for it like I do for for example Flowerbomb, La vie est belle, Acqua de Gio or Armani Si. In my opinion, it has maybe a little "cheap" association?

At first when I sniffed it, I took a big whiff. I didn't like the heavy licorice smell, but something at the very end of the exhale was super intoxicating. Like the kind where you get really close to a guy and you can smell their breathing and it just pulls you close to them like magic. I don't know what it is, but it may come from the vanilla? But I could not smell the vanilla. Maybe it's what the perfume claims it does, speaks to your love senses!

Generally it smells like a heavy dose of sugary licorice tamed with some vanilla to not give a headache. I didn't think much of it... wasn't a favourite.

Just the other day I tried it and I kind of grew found of the licorice smell, it ended up smelling kind of like rootbeer and mysterious like. Dark candy sophistication. But I was pleasantly surprised that the dry down smelled like the most sweetest vanilla cotton candy ever! It was lovely.

I would describe it as
Initial spray: a rockstar teenager getting all sexied up to go out a night of dancing, wearing sexy black clothes and smoked out eyes.
Dry down: is like when she comes home, washes off all her makeup and gets into bed and cuddles with her teddy bear because she's still a young girl!

Picked this up as a $20 sale. I wouldn't buy it again as I'm not super into the licorice smell and I like chocolate and vanilla more. But for anyone who loves licorice... get this!

This one was a total surprise for me: I expected a farty-fruity-lala concoction, but it is the most underrated fragrance I've come across in a long time.
It's delicious but not cloying, it's just complex enough but not complicated, opens up slightly tart with a good blast of spice, softens into feminine white floral combo back up by a deep, dark, mouthwatering licorice touch.

Never gets too sweet, or too fruity, the woods and vanilla are more of the tactile variety so don't expect a blast of cheap movie theater candy bar in this, what you'll get is a beautiful veil of perfectly balanced spicy floral with caressing musk and woods.

This is one of my favorite perfumes of all time. I'm not going to lie... Pink Sugar is #1 in my book. I have 5+ full sized bottles of that. However this is a close runner up and a good choice for when I need something *slightly* more sophisticated.

Here is a rundown on the scent notes from Fragrantica: "The very composition is floral – spicy, opening with star anise and mandarin. Sambac jasmine, licorice and gardenia petals form the core of the composition, placed on an oriental base of amber, vanilla and woody notes."

I personally think this smells like a sweet vanilla/licorice combo. It is heavenly to me. The longevity of this perfume is impressive, too.

I will repurchase again if I ever run out (given it's still on the market by then). I bought a back up bottle so that may take a while.

This one started out very vanilla sweet, almost candy-ish, on me, mixed with strong licorice & star anise. It then mellowed to mix the licorice with a nice soft floral--maybe jasmine. I liked it more the longer I wore it, a softer floral with a dark licorice kick.

I really like this fragrance, but it is differently an evening fragrance for me.
I like it but it is not a wow I need to buy it when I run out kind a like. It's 75 ml or 2.5 oz, so I won't run out soon anyway... I got it from a friend who at first loved it, but can't stand it now.

I would give this 5 star if it lasted a little longer.
I felt this is a mix between Alien and Flowerbomb. Liqorice and anaise gives this a little more originality. The drydown is mostly caramel though.

I hoesntly love this scent,it was a love from the first sniff. But it's alitle bit too warm and sweet.
Licorice and anise domeinates all the way.
It's not really a teenager scent, but it can suit almost anyone.

Loverdose starts out sharp on my skin, like anise or licorice. It then settles down after 15 minutes & the beautiful spicy florals come out in full force with the vanila scent wafting through it. Kind of like spice & flowers being carried along on a vanilla cloud. It's sweet too but not cloyingly sweet. On me it dries down & takes on a warm, powdery quality which is why i give it only 4 stars. I wish the dry down would have included a little bit more spice & less powder. This perfume can be worn day or night & i think can also be worn at work. A great scent

I absolutely love Loverdose! It great for those cold and frosty winter days and will keep you feeling all warm and cozy. I haven't smelled anything quite like it. The only negative I can think of is that it can be a little overpowering when just applied. The smell is very strong.

It starts with a strong mixture of licorice and star anise. After about an hour or so those tend to fade for me and I can distinguish a tinge of jamsmin, some woody notes and a teeny tiny bit of the mandarin. When all the sillage has gone you can still smell a lovely vanilla on your skin.
