Brown Spot Night Cream with Kojic Acid

Not to be confused with their "Brown Spot Brightening Night Cream" that uses Hydroquinone. This cream is with Kojic Acid for its brightening agent and claims it is suitable for all skin types. This cream did not lighten any of my dark spots after 3 months use. I took before and after photos and was disappointed. Its very heavy greasy thick cream that sits on the top of skin. It was slightly irritating, clogged up my skins pores and caused breakouts. Smells pongy like when someone cracks opens boiled eggs at lunch. The jar is cheap plastic and difficult to open and close easily and gets messy under all around the screw part, no matter how careful I am. After this I tried their "Brown Spot Night Gel with Glycolic Acid". It comes in a pump tube and contains Hydroquinone rather than Kojic Acid as the lightening agent. It said it was for all skin types on the box, but the website says its for oily skin which is confusing. This sticky gel also did not lighten my dark spots, formed a layer that sat on the top of skin, dried out skin and was irritating. The one good thing about both products is they were clearly marked with the "Expiry Date" on both boxes. And both were fresh giving me a decent length of time to use up when I purchased, so at least I know the product failing was not due to being old. Will not repurchase any more Reviva Labs Brown Spot products as I have since found products that actually work since.

LOVE IT! I'm on my 7th (more or less) jar and despite having a bit of difficulty adapting to it, I'm really happy it stuck with it because the results are fantastic. I have rosacea so i'm constantly red but this only added to that redness but the reason I started using this was obviously the anti-aging effects. I started with the 5%, then a few months later I mixed the 5% and 10% ones and a few more months later I switched to 10%. When you first apply it, it can really sting but persistence is the key. It can leave the sky dry until you get used to it. After about 3 years of using it (which a few breaks in between) I can still see improvements. Pros: Does what it says Acceptable price tag The new redesigned packaging is nicer Doesn't sting after getting used to it Cons: Will sting a lot in the beginning If not stored properly (dark, chilly place) it loses its efficiency (in my experience)

I actually use this on my body because I feel that if I use this in addition to the 10% cream it will be too much. But it's really nice on the body instead of scrubs and such physical peels. Pros: Does what it says Doesn't sting (on the body) Leaves the skin smooth Nice lavender scent Cons: Tiny amount (even for face)
