Lipstick -Huda Beauty -Lip Strobe

on 4/22/2019 10:39:00 AM

I have this in Saucey which is a gorgeous metallic red, "a full coverage muted red ochre with rich gold and pink pearls." Love it, but worn alone it's definitely too metallic for workday. It works great to spice up the Liquid Matte Lipsticks, though (just what I wanted - mattes aren't really my thing) - just layer with a matte shade before either has dried down and blend together. I applied Saucey today, blotted to tone down the metallic, then added Icon on top for a work-friendly red; some shimmery bits still remain as well. Next I will have to try applying the matte first then adding a dab of the Strobe. Packaging is great, the base is clear to show off the shade inside, and the lid houses a flocked applicator tip shaped like a masonry trowel.

Eye Shadow -Huda Beauty -Ruby Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette

The colours are beautiful that’s for sure but the quality lacks. After only a few hours the shadow creased terribly-even after primer and powder. Very disappointed in this product.

Palettes -Huda Beauty -Desert Dusk Palette

Beautiful colours, yet not as pigmented as they should be for the price

Foundations -Huda Beauty -Faux Filter Foundation

This is a gorgeous foundation that smells beautiful. Nothing about this bothers me in the least. I wear the color 500 Mocha. I love full coverage. I wear makeup because I love it and I want to look like a doll. This foundation blanks everything out and makes my skin flawless. With a light dusting of powder and an oil mattifying primer I am set for hours. Really love. Very well done. I have never purchased anything from Huda that I didn’t love.

Eye Shadow -Huda Beauty -Emerald Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette

on 3/18/2019 7:49:00 PM

The Emerald Obsessions palette contains three matte shades [mint, emerald & chocolate-with-khaki-undertones], two metallic shimmers [chartreuse & lemon-with-green-shift], two pressed pearl formula [peacock & olive] and two shimmers that I best describe as being a sparking frosted finish [medium green & teal]. I'm really into this more compact type of palette now, where every shade is something fun and unique, that doesn't waste space (and therefore our money) by including the same kind of basic highlight/crease/transition shades that the average makeup lover already has - I'm sure that we all have plenty of neutral shades that we love, that we can use with this [although I've happily done multiple looks using this palette only].

The mattes are admittedly drier in comparison to the brand's other Obsessions palettes, but I still haven't had any problems working with them, they wear well and they have next to no fallout. The various finishes of the six shimmer shades feel buttery smooth and are mega easy to blend - four of them also have chromatic shifts. All of the shadows are non-fading, and I haven't experienced any creasing & little transfer - I apply them in the morning and they'll still look good in the evening, when I remove it. The metallic shades have a bit more fallout in comparison to the other shadows which have very little, which isn't a dealbreaker for me but I still thought I'd mention it.

Any disappointments? The mint matte is fairly sheer in comparison to the other two mattes, and I'm just more of a fan of the brand's matte formulas in her other palettes - but I know that greens can be as tricky as purples to formulate, So it's not a problem specific to this brand.

There are only nine shades in the palette, but the pricing is reasonable enough to excuse this, especially considering the great product quality. The powders are a pleasure to work with; the shade selection just screams "fun and happy". Just a quick price comparison for those scoffing at the small compact size [it's smaller than my hand]; you are getting 10g of product in this 9-pan palette for £25 and just 8g in a £43 ABH 14-pan palette. I'd definitely replace this palette if I lost it as most of the shades are unique in my collection, and I'd happily recommend the Emerald Obsessions palette to people.
