Latest Huda Beauty Reviews

Kayali - Deja vu White Flower | 57 edp

I don't usually like fragrances with gardenia in them, as gardenia turns sour on me more often than not. However this is a beautiful balance; the floral notes are blended excellently with the soft fruit notes & hint of vanilla, so that no scent family stands out more strongly than the others [The number 57 indicates the 57 rounds of formulations it took to achieve the perfect balance of Seductive and Warm - Huda's blog]. Deja vu has a bit of everything I enjoy; the blend is soft and clean, but also creamy, plus with a slight hint of powderiness. That probably makes no real sense, sorry, I just can't put the perfect meld of notes into words. Every key scent note is identifiable and like I said above, the balance is perfect for my tastes - the fruit, florals, sweetness and woods are all present, but nothing outshines anything else. Official scent notes: pear, nectarine, gardenia, Indian jasmine, orange blossom, tuberose, patchouli, sandalwood, cashmere wood and Tahitian vanilla. The number one thing that stands out is the purity of the scent notes - I can't detect any alcohol or plasticy notes, so it's like I've applied fragrance oils to my my skin. The fragrance lasts very well for something that isn't very harsh - at least nine hours. I only buy 100ml bottles if I find a low-price offer that works out cheaper than a smaller sized one would regularly cost, but if Kayali ever releases a 100ml bottle for Deja Vu I'll be picking it up - I've had to force myself from wearing it every day, as my bottle wouldn't last very long otherwise.

The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

The pallet is a bit pricey but the quality for sure justifies it. Packaging is really nice and good quality. Colour story is absolutely stunning. It for sure isn't something really inovative and never seen before but it offers a beautiful selection of everyday shades for perfect nude looks. Shadows are really easy to work with, nicely pigmented, they blend beautifully and there is little to no fallout with them. The shimmery shades are also very nice and not too hard to work with. I get the best results with them by applying them with my fingers rather than with a brush. I would personaly rather have another eyeshadow shade instead of the concealer, but I don't mind it that much. If you like the colour story but don't want to spend 65$ on the pallet, there's a good amount of dupes on the market offering very similar colours (however, the quality does not compare to Huda's). Overall, I really like this pallet and use it very often. Would definitely recommend.

Component and packaging are absolutely stunning and very good quality which makes the product really nice to display. Colour range is pretty big especially if you're looking for a nude shade. Product itself is one of my favorite formulas I've ever tried. It dries down completely matt but it doesn't feel heavy on lips at all and it does not dry them out. Colours are really pigmented and one or two dips is enough to cover full lips. It stays on for a long time but tuch-ups might be needed with darker colours. The product has very strong sweet scent that goes away as lipstick dries down (I personally don't mind it but I know some people who don't like it). The only problem I had was with the dark purple shade "Material Girl" that aplied patchy and needed more than one coat in order to look fully pigmented but to be fair, dark purple and berry shades tend to be harder to make and seem a bit more inconsistent with other brands as well. Overall, I really enjoyed the Huda Beauty liquid matte lipstick and I would definitely repurchase them.
