Well I almost got sucked into an expensive hair brush vortex, but fortunately the wonderful MUA reviewers reminded me to check out Denman. I had the styling brush back in the 70's and it was great for years. Lately I've just been wanting to brush my old grey mane and tickle my scalp a little. My Spornett is just too scratchy. This is perfect and just a beautiful brush. I'm happy that I did not blow my entire state tax return on the posh version. This will do just fine. Do check these out first, before you get spendy, if it matters.

Brilliant grooming brush, excellent for back combing too. Not so great at detangling, but it is a grooming brush after all. I have the large and small handbag size. Compared to my Mason Pearson it almost performs as well, but doesn't have that luxurious feel. It is quite bulky & isn't heat resistant.

I just really love Denman brushes. Also have a styling brush, which I've been using for 10 years now, so when I was in the UK a few weeks ago I decided to buy a grooming brush as well. I have a boar & nylon mixed brush inMedium (D81M), which is perfect for me as I have very long & thick hair. It smoothes my hair, it redistributes the natural oils to the ends, it even keeps me from having to wash my hair for an extra day or so. It's just love, love, LOVE!!! EDIT: I have bought an extra, the small one (D81S) for in my bag. That's how much I love it!

I bought the Denman with 100% natural boar's bristle. I love this brush. It makes my hair so soft and shiny. It feels great on my scalp and brings the natural oils to the ends of my hair. I have a round 100% boar's bristle for styling, and these brushes have made such a difference that I won't use anything else.My hair is long, fine, thick & wavy. I understand it doesn't work as well for coarse hair.

I just found my old Denman brush in the basement! My last cheaper brush fell in the toilet and I threw it out (ewww). I was all set to buy a new brush and was looking at reviews. By some miracle I was doing some cleaning and found my Denman brush which I think I've had for around 18 years! It looked brand new! I must have been washing it years ago and left it. This is a great brush! It is the perfect weight. Mine is the plastic one that just looks like a typical drugstore paddle brush but is so much more! I spent $20 on it originally and looks like I won't have to buy one after all!

Great boar bristle brush! It really helps distribute hair oils better than the goody brush i was using before. I have super thick hair and this really seems to get right down to my scalp. As far as price goes i paid $25 canadian for it which isnt bad considering a mason pearson is like $100+....

I can't believe no one has reviewed Denman brushes! Perhaps it is because these are brushes are considered to be for short hair exclusively. I've seen them listed on numerous occasions in hair magazines and my hairstylist has a blow dry technique named after them.MATERIAL: Natural Boar BristleUSE ACCORDING TO LABEL: "Ideal for smoothing and grooming. Suitable for all types of short hair. Air-cushioned rubber pad for gentle control. Ergonomic handle design. Resistent to heat and chemicals."PRICE:$15IMPRESSIONS: Soft yet suple, very good for distributing oils without irritating the scalp or ripping hairs. Although I have not owned it long enough to say from experience, I happen to know from word of mouth that these brushes are durable so I don't anticipate having to buy one again, although I gladly would. continued >>
