I have been addicted to KM loukhoum for years and has been ''my' smell but it is harder and harder to find and I feel with the latest version of the bottle, the long loved intensity seemed to diminish. As this has been out of stock for over 6 months at Liberty, which is the only UK stockist, I finally explored the much noted sister, SOR. I have to say, I feel like this is so similar and reminds me of the intensity of loukhoum when I first tried it 4 years ago. It is also about twice the size for the same price, so really a no brainier. So glad I found this alternative, although will always love KM loukhoum as well.

this one is one of those scents that you know you going to find very interesting, hence, reading the reviews, most of them characterize this Montale as a sweet lokhoumy gourmand!Aham it is..BUT, this is not plain (yet beautiful) heliotrope powder, it is really much more than that...first thing worthy of remembering- do not test it from the bottle or from the blotter, because Montales tends to develop very individually....try it on your skin..it is a whole another experience...now, what I do like is a tobacco note, which reminds me of SL Fumerie Turque which I adore...it is the same kind of sweet, dry tobacco note,or cherry tobacco like all of the reviewers noticed...then there is a lokhoum part (it is simply - sugared honey with rose water) and some quiet presence of almonds...it is quite strong but give it some time to settle down on your skin, and pray to god that it doesn't get any sweeter...it is almost fascinating how thin this border of nausea and enjoinment is...But if we summon all the things included, this perfume is quite wearable, enjoyable, and most of people find it very alluring and friendly...it is not a simple gourmand, it is more on the tobbaco side, and I have to say, since this is my first dab and first impression, I'm not quite sure wheter I like it or not (or to rephrase it- if I'm going to wear it, and where should I wear it..)I've got a huge 30 ml. decant(me and my friends spilt it in 3 parts), and I hope that it will eventually fulfil my craving for sweet, honeyed rose that once in a while consumes my olphactory sistem:))high rating because it is very comfortable, office friendly, feminine, not so expensive and kinda sophisticated once the top notes get quieter...7/10 (for now........o-oh, I can feel the rose emerging from my hand...and it is magnificent!!)..EDIT: the day after- no, and no!still beautiful, stil sweet and definitely not for me...desolee..EDIT2: FOR f.sake, it really is good...and I shouldn' t have given it away....daaaaarnnnn!!!!!;))))))))EDIT 3: READ EDIT 2 ...plus- WARNING- exclusively fot COLD WEATHER, without exception!!!

Sweet orientel dream fits much better on my skin than Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum. KM is like kristal powdery sugar on my skin. SOD is more insence burning sweet smoke.

Fabulous! I love this addicting stuff. It is very similar to Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum but somehow richer and even more wonderful! The lasting power can not be beat...I could still smell it on me 10-12 hours later. You can order from luckyscent.com 100 ml for $135; a little pricey, but well worth it in my opinion : ) It is powdery and a little on the sweet side, so if you do not like either of these things in your perfumes, do not even bother trying. You can order a sample through luckyscent.

My HG fragrance. Need I say more? Actually I do, it's such a gorgeous scent that it needs some good reviewing on here:)) Most of the people definitely describe it as a super sweet scent, some even mention that it's sweetness is unbearable. Well, if you don't like sweet gourmands - just stay away. And if you adore them, the way I do, this is definitely worth a try! It's not your typical gourmand perfume, it has a lot more depth to it. I actually don't find it to be overly sweet at all. Yes, it opens on a sweet rose-jam note, sugary almonds and ll that deliscious mess. Yes, this fragrance is just yum and a deliscious mess, as I describe it:)) It's heart is powdery, yeah, even very powdery I should say. So here is another note, if you don't like powdery - also stay away. I love powdery notes so for me it was just perfect. It has a spicy-cherry-tobacco note, that's what I think causes it's sillage to be as powerful as it is. It's a very inspiring, gorgeous scent, and I love it with all of my heart. Very long lasting, very interesting take on the loukoum. Gourmand and sweet, yes, but also done to perfection with an interesting twist on the cherry tobacco note. Love every drop of it!!

A love it or hate it fragrance, and I love it. I do tend to like gourmands, but usually veer away from ones that are too sweet (prefer some spiciness in the mix) and I thought I would lean away from this one just based on the name. And it is sweeeet. But it's not sugary--notes are rose, honey, almond and vanilla, which all give it a richer, more rounded feeling. Just plain yummy!

I Love Sweet Oriental Dream (sure to become a signature scent of mine:). For me personally this beats out Keiko Mecheri(Original) as far as Loukhoum scents go, though Keiko is still really beautiful. Something about SOD is just.....better. To me it's heavier and sweeter. Some people don't like strong, sweet, thick and cloying type fragrances but i lllooove them lol. Yes ..it does have a powdery note but not as pronounced as Keiko. It's more so on the sweet "foody" gourmand side........veeery sweet actually, so make sure you sample first. The rose jam and almond notes come through nicely. I do smell alot of honey and vanilla as well. The sweet and floral dynamic here is just lovely. It's a very interesting and unique fragrance that will grab attention. If Valentines day had a scent, it would smell like Sweet Oriental DreamNow i feel like going out and getting a rose saffron icecream cone :)UPDATE: Oh yeah. This is at the top of the list for me. My #1 Signature scent! It's funny..i should have known the whole time. My man has consistently picked this fragrance out as his favorite on me through many sampling tests that i've put him through lol. I just can't get enough of this deliciously wonderful perfume.

Instant hate!Never buy without try!Based on the reviews I was so sure, that this would be my holy grail. I love (bitter) almond, sugar, honey, loukhoum, every listed ingredient, but - for me - this only smells like old persian carpet, stored in a very old closet for years, with mothballs and the smell of grandpa, smoking a pipe of cherry-tobacco, put together and destilled in high concentration. I'ts unblievable.Luckyscent lists:Moroccan rose, loukhoum (honey, rose water, sugar, fruit, jam, nuts), almonds, vanilla. How can it be possible to make a scent like this from this wonderful ingredients? I see absolutely no resemblance to KM Loukhoum or Teint de Neige.Unfortunately silage and lasting-power are very good.

Did You see my makeupalley nickname yet? That should be the confirmation of the fact that this is my one and only HG scent!!! First of all I love loukoum, the scent and the actual candy. When I read the reviews before purchasing my bottle, I understood that this is a horribly sweet scent. And You know what? I was prepared and ready to welcome that sick sweetness. The reason is because I love certain fragrances to be sweet, sweet, yummi and sweet, a good example is Chinatown by Bond no.9. I adore it's sweetness. I know for sure that loukoum is a yummi, sweet delight so I definitely expect a loukoum based fragrance to be sweet as well. My point is, if You don't like sweet fragrances, don't go for a dessert gourmand only to later review it negatively. Actually since I was prepared for Sweet Oriental Dream to be extremelly sweet, I was suprised to find it maybe a 6 on a scale from 1 to 10:)) I can smell it's beautiful rose-loukoum-powdery heart. Yes this scent is quite powdery, but I adore powdery notes in my perfume. I expecialy love powdery gourmands, another good example is CdG Sticky Cake. The drydown is absoltely gourges and oh I could just bathe in this stuff. It instantly puts me in a good mood, when I spray Sweet Oriental Dream on my skin. As far as the sillage and the longetivity... i would give it a 10 on a scale from 1 to 10! Very typical for Montale. Really, Sweet Oriental dream is just the most beautiful, subtle, sweet, gorgeous and long lasting perfume ever created.
