This is my favorite eye shadow to use as eyeliner. I either use it as smokey powder base underneath liquid eyeliner, or I wet it for eyeliner. This is a very nice, matte black color.Pros: The packaging is nice and sturdy and you get a lot of product. Once you build it up, it's a nice dark black color. The texture is smooth and I find it glides on smoothly with a dampened synthetic angled brush, or a silcone eyeliner brush.Cons: This has definite fallout, and if you want a jet black you need to build it up, otherwise it will be muted. The fallout is the biggest issue for me. It'll apply nice and everything, but as the day goes on you need to pop out your compact and make sure your winged liner isn't falling under your eye. The price is also a bit high for the amount of product you get. This is my second favorite eye shadow from Sugarpill, only bested by Dollipop. If the price were lower, I'd repurchase this more often, but mostly I just wait until sales roll around. I'd pay full price for Urban Decay, but for this one, I'd wait it out for a sale.

I hate to be the one who hates this, buuut I am... I think this eye shadow is overrated because it's superdupercute, big and, in theory, very convenient to also use as cake liner and to depot etc... I'm extremely disappointed in the actual product though. Maybe I got a bad one because mine is nothing like people describe. This eye shadow is dry, chalky, impossible to blend evenly and after a year of having it, it's literally crumbling apart out of the pan every time I use it. It is important to note I do NOT carry my makeup around with me and it is always laid flat in a safe, makeup drawer in a neutral, room temp climate. Never jostled around or abused. The pigment is a joke, it's the patchiest eye shadow I've ever used and I've given it more than a fair shot. I don't use black eye shadow a lot and, believe it or not, this is my only true black shadow that I own. I specifically bought this because it seemed the perfect addition. I thought I could use it with a push brush for eyeliner and a deep crease on occasion or just some depth in general...nope. When I first got it, I thought it was user error because everyone raves about it and black shadow is intimidating, but I'm no newb to eye shadow and after about 6 months of using about once a week, I decided it was just crap. Having other makeup and life priorities, and black eye shadow not being one of them, I just let it be and still used it for liner on occasion, but now, in the last 2 months, it started getting little cracks throughout the pan and about a month ago it started breaking apart in chunks falling out of the pan every single time I use it. I'm fed up, I'm going to buy carbon or typographic today from a mac pro store near me because it's my most convenient option at this point for a B&M store, instant satisfaction. I know through the grapevine that carbon isn't the best black eye shadow, but as I mostly use for eyeliner anyway and as long as it isn't so damn dry it falls out of the pan, I'll be okay with it for 6 dollars out of pocket and this shadow in the trash. I wouldn't donate it to my worst enemy. I'll add a pic of my pan so you can see how it's falling out.

Sugarpill describes this as a "deepest black" which to me isn't true. I get more of a charcoal grey, not a deep black. Tried it even over primer and I still don't get a true black which is so disappointing! My Makeup Revolution matte black is a ton better than this. I don't know if I got one from a bad batch or something but mine is not super pigmented and dark like everyone else says. The packaging does feel nice and sturdy which is a plus and the value for money (by the size/weight whatever) is very good!If this lived up to the claims everyone was making I'd have probably found my perfect black eyeshadow but sadly it just isn't perfect for me.

Sugarpill pressed shadows work for me exactly as intended; "Richly pigmented, velvety smooth, luxury pressed eyeshadows for all-night party wear." Bulletproof is described as "Deepest matte black with extraordinary pigmentation and lasting wear." No lie. This is so pigmented a little goes so far on a brush. If you don't want an opaque black and just want a blended out look, barely touch the shadow cake with your brush, you can't take away color. The texture on the skin is light and it's not heavy, despite being such a dark and opaque shade. I find Bulletproof sticks incredibly well to eyeshadow primer. Blending it out immediately is required. I do the blending bit first, then fill in the darker lines due to this. Using ELF eyeliner sealant to create an eyeliner works incredibly well, but migrates after a bit due to it drying out just a tad over wear time. That doesn't bother me, I have wonderful liquid liners to use.I've tried Wet n Wild's matte black and liked it, but it doesn't stick to skin without primers like Bulletproof. My standard before buying this was NYXs matte black shadow, which I loved, but would migrate straight into the crease after 6 hours. I have really oily eyelids so I avoid putting dark colors near my eyelid crease now. Very different techniques.

One of the BEST matte black e/s I own! It's a true black with no gray or bluish casting or undertones. Highly pigmented, minimal fallout. Not powdery or chalky. The best thing about it may be how build-able it is. Stays true to color without primer. With primer the color stays put the entire day/night with no creasing or fading. Carbon is a thing of the past!

little fall out, very very black. the first time i used this i wasnt too impressed, it looks muted black or dark grey. turns out that i just have to use more of it, because the upper layer in the pot is somewhat sealed or too compressed. you have to 'break in' this eyeshadow initially to show up of its full potential..

As young, I was (and I'm a little shameful about it) a little bit emo and of course I've used a loooooooot of black eye shadows, so I can tell you : this is the best black eye shadow I've ever seen! I'm really impressed. It's perfectly matte and easily blendable.

Hands down the absolute best black eyeshadow. Incredibly dark and pigmented. I can't recommend Sugarpill enough. Amazing.

If you like to do dark, sultry smokey eye looks, you NEED this color. It's the darkest, most pigmented black shadow I've ever seen. I have MAC's Carbon, and this honestly puts it to shame. I wear Bulletproof over LC's Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper, and it lasts 12 hours at MINIMUM with no fading. I'm very impressed, and I have several more SP eyeshadow shades on my wishlist. It was also very easy to depot.

A very BLACK pigmented eyeshadow and still as black once on the eye too.To me, this also HAS staying power. This is what I use under my lowerlash line to line eyes straight from the pan, and it stays where I put it with depth of colour too, can be blended with still depth to it.. and I don't have to worry about needing to touch up to keep it 'black'.FORGET THESE....Mac Carbon = Chalky, patchy, not heavily pigmented on the eye and fades quickly.Mac Typographic = Quite pigmented & good very dark grey, but too 'buttery' to use as a lower lash liner as it ends up NOT staying where it's put.Mac Pro Wear in Soot - Similar to Carbon, just not dense enough either.Illamasqua Obsidian = Quite a dense shadow on the eye, but does fade quickly, and also a 'brown' based black, so not black enough. Prob would be ok for wearing as a 'toned down' look.Bourjois Little round Pot Intense Extrait No 10 = Not too bad for staying where it's put, BUT not black enough
