Lipstick -Mary Kay -Mary Kay® Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick

on 8/7/2018 10:26:00 AM

I have this in Raspberry Ice, Luminous Lilac and Apple Berry.
I can not believe I have bought Mary Kay products in 2018 (they still are in business?) but I met a nice rep and she got me 3 lipsticks for $36 (They are usually $18 each - so it was like buy 2 and get one free).

Luminous Lilac (a cool toned pinky-purple) is my favorite, followed by Apple Berry (a darker plum/berry/red). Raspberry ice is just ok, a boring mid-toned (slightly cool?) pink/mauve.

Lips -Mary Kay -Mary Kay Signature Apple Berry Lipstick

This is a gorgeous shade of berry/red/plum (not warm on me, but a bit darker than I usually wear) from Mary Kay for $18.
I like it very much. Super long lasting and matte but not too matte. Does not migrate (good!) and does not feather.

Finally - a blue-based red I can wear.

Lipstick -Mary Kay -True Dimension lipstick

on 8/7/2018 7:01:00 AM

This is a review circa 2018 for True Dimension SHEER lipstick in sparkling rose (as of this year - 2018 - this sheer formula only comes in 4 colors). It is a pale rose pink that goes on semi sheer. Hydrating and creamy but not super long lasting (duh) and $18 a tube is kinda high for "one step better than a tinted lip balm".

In the mean time I like it, I got it for $12 (MaryKay did a buy 3 lipsticks for $36 promo).
It will likely go into my rotation and last a while, but I likely will not repurchase.

Treatments (Face) -Mary Kay -TimeWise Repair® Volu-Firm® Lifting Serum

on 8/6/2018 7:54:00 AM

After purchasing a different (less expensive) MK Serum, my Mary Kay lady gave me a .25 ounce (generous) deluxe sample of this ($70 for an ounce), which I am using with and without the "C Squares" to boost it. I like this serum, except for the fact that there are many synthetic ingredients and it smells of a fragrance even though none is listed.

That said, this sample (that I got for free) is worth over $17. Wow.

For free? This is great, but I am not buying it. It's rather invest in Skinceuticals or a brand with more actives and less filler.
So far this does help with "plumping/lifting" but i have not been using it long enough to see any tangible results. Yet.

People still sell/use Mary Kay?
Apparently so.

Moisturizers -Mary Kay -TimeWise Repair® Volu-Firm® Night Treatment With Retinol

on 8/1/2018 11:34:00 AM

OK, it's 2018 and people are STILL selling Mary Kay? Really? I met my local MK rep in a local clothing store and bought the Charcoal mask (which my 13 year old likes) and a lipstick. So she gave me a deluxe sample of the somewhat new Volu-Firm line. The Day Cream is fine - yes it contains some dimethicone/'cones and smells artificial (old lady ish) but it felt OK.

The night cream/treatment was far too heavy for me and I have 40-something normal to dry (in summer, dry to very dry in winter) skin. It also contains a small amount of retinol. (It did not irritate me - but you should be aware of that.)

For $52 for a 1.7 oz jar (hate jars BTW, too unsanitary), I would NOT buy it.
