Charla is a gorgeous color! I love the shimmer and the slightly holographic effect from blue to green. It was super easy to apply. The Ulta stores I've visited recently now carry Zoya polishes--yay!!

Zoya's Nail Enamel in Charla is part of their Sparkle Collection from 2010. Charla is a deep, blue based teal loaded with green and gold shimmer. Zoya polishes are formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate, and camphor free, and are made in the US. Zoya polishes retail for about $8, and are available at http://www.zoya.com/, or can be purchased at certain salons or spas. Zoya is considered a professional brand, and isn't sold at drugstores or most beauty stores. I received my bottle of Charla as a giveaway prize from Tiffany Lacquer.
I really like the shape of Zoya's bottles Made of thick, sturdy feeling glass, with black acrylic caps. The shape of the bottle is interesting and somewhat unique, being a rounded rectangle that tapers from the top to the bottom. It's cute and seems to be really high quality. There doesn't seem to be any issues with the cap detaching from the top of the brush. FTW. Zoya's brushes are short, flat, and have a good amount of give and flexibility without being flimsy.
Charla applies decently and needs 3 coats to get fully opaque. The first coat goes on quite sheer and uneven. The second coat evens everything out, but doesn't add much color. The third, and final coat adds a lot of needed opacity to Charla. Under a bright light, your nail line may still be visible, but it appears opaque in most lights. Close enough. Charla could also be good for laying, if you apply it in a very thin coat. I'll give it a try sometime and report back on the results.
I think Charla is suitable for all skin tones, but would look really amazing on someone who is quite dark. I also feel like it suits short, square nails like mine best. Charla is an interesting and unique polish, one that I can't immediately think of a more affordable dupe for. Charla is a deep teal that leans mostly blue, with tons of gold and green micro shimmer. On the nail, it appears almost holographic. The sheer amount of green and gold glitter can make it appear emerald green in certain lights. It's really gorgeous. I think I'm going to get lots of use from this polish.
Charla isn't specifically labeled as a fast drying polish, but it is. Each coat dries in about 30 to 45 seconds. For the note I consider anything that dries in under a minute to be fast drying, others may disagree though. Zoya polishes seem to not have as strong of a smell as other polishes, so this brand is good if you're very sensitive to the smell of nail polish.
Charla wears well. I got about 4 days worth of wear from it with a small amount of tip wear, nothing that can't be fixed with a little touch up. Charla also is fairly water resistant. It survived two baths and two dish washings before it started to peel up in the corners slightly. I probably could've fixed it with a few dabs of top coat, but I mindlessly played with it instead, and wound up peeling it all off. Oops. If I hadn't done that and fixed it with top coat, I probably could've gotten atleast another day or two of wear.
Overall, Charla is a great polish, it left me with a great impression of Zoya. It wears well and is a gorgeous, interesting color. Please let me know if you know of any drugstore dupes, as I probably won't repurchase this polish due to the price tag. If you don't mind paying a little extra for a pro-quality polish, Zoya is probably a great brand for you, one you probably already use.

Did I get a dud? Ulta had a mini bottle of this shade on super-clearance and since I'm a sucker for all things nails, I jumped on it. I used it multiple times: over base coat, over another color and on it's own. Each time, I've noticed that my polish peels off within a day - if not a few hours.
The color looked really good and gave a lot of cover in a single coat so I'm hoping this bottle was a dud and the next Zoya polish I buy will make up for it.

This is a blue-green loaded with shimmer and glitter kind of like a mermaid color. It is a beautiful nail polish but, I don't wear it as often as I thought. Luckly I got it free with purchase so I don't feel as bad.

OMG!!! The hype is true! Charla is an unbelievably shimmery green-blue. I think it's can be considered traffic hazard to drive with Charla on your hands as the sparkle is amazing and eye-catching. I got the entire Sparkle collection and while they were all quite nice this and Ivanka take the cake in WOW factor. This is not a polish if you don't want to get attention. Applies like a dream on its own or layered over another blue and lasts really well without chips. Removal was much better than I expected for such a glittery polish. Charla is sure to cheer you up!

Charla is an intensely sparkly blue-green color with hints of gold in the sun, definitely not for the timid! On my skin tone it looks more blue than green. It needs at least two coats for full coverage. Drying time and wear is average.

Love the colour, beautiful turquoise shimmer polish, but it looks even brighter on than in the bottle (if that's possible!) so I have a feeling that unless I'm going to the beach or something I might have to relegate it to my toes, I'm just not that brave yet!
But its drop dead gorgeous if you think you'll wear it! Durability seems fine, removal hasn't been a problem and it is smooth on the nail once applied. Love it!

Drop dead gorgeous. I get tons of compliments when I wear this color and can't stop checking out my nails myself. Would definitely buy again.

Charla is my first Zoya polish! I fell in love with this color upon seeing it. It was the only one that stuck out to me because of micro glitter I saw from the bottle. I'm a sucker for blues/greens & all things shimmery or glittery & Charla was perfect! Depending on if you're indoors or out, & the amount of lighting you have, this color can come off as blue or a teal/turquoise-y color. I love the way it looks & shimmer in the sun. I think it's a perfect color for the spring & summer time. I would buy this again if I run low on the one I already have. Oh & since I used a base boat, I had no problem with this color leaving any stains on my nails. continued >>

Charla is a green based aqua shimmer-glitter sparkle polish. It's not heavy glitter based like Zoya's Astra, Nova & Luna. It was easy to apply but took a while to dry.
The colour is definitely more green than blue when applied. In the sunlight, it absolutely bedazzles! Really stunning, really. However I didn't find the colour all that different from Revlon and a few other companies who have brought out this aqua shimmer many years ago. For that reason I wasn't overly impressed with Charla - I felt Zoya could have tried harder to make it more unique. Another biggie was it MAJORLY stained my nails blue when I took this polish off. Make sure you use a base coat, or else you'll have stained nails & fingers for many a day! continued >>

I picked this up cuz OPI catch me in your net was sold out. It seems to be the same. 2 coats gives really good results. I've heard charla covers better than CMIYN.
I used china glaze yellow polka dot bikini as a base and then applied charla. Got a very nice green in sunlight and indoors it seems more turquoise.it actually seems the same to zoyas ivanka, which is in the same collection as charla. I also applied mimi and then charla overtop. Got a very nice blurple. This can b very versitile if experimenting with a base color and charla on top.

this was one of the polishes i chose from the zoya exchange. I just put it on yesterday and so far no chips. i love that this is a smooth glitter, i hate to have gritty nails. at first i thought the bottle seemed small but it's regular size, i do think however the brush seems small. application was easy and it dried fairly fast. i did use a basecoat and hope when i take it off my nails don't stain

Like basically everyone else on the Nail Board, I'm bananas for this colour. I would describe it as intense medium green teal microglitter with slight true gold shimmer in direct lighting, medium intense blue teal microglitter in indirect lighting. 3-coat opacity, unprecedented for a glitter polish. It's completely smooth even before topcoat - no glitter grittiness at all. The glitter is that fine. It wears a long time without significant chipping (close to 6 days so far). I really like Zoya's brush (applies neatly even if you're a klutz like me) and formula (dries slightly slower than OPI/ChG/etc., giving you more time to spread it around the nail and fix mistakes, but still dry within 15 minutes). spaboutique.ca has Zoyas for C$9 a pop - it took quite some time for my order to ship, but it was worth the wait!

This color is to die for. Somewhere between aqua and a nice ducky-teal, this polish is loaded with minute glitter and makes your nails just scream "look at me!" Definitely not conservative-work-place safe, but a decadent indulgence if you've got somewhere to wear it.
I've only worn it (so far) in cloudy weather since it's not very springy here, so I haven't seen it in bright sun. As it is, I can't take my eyes off of it, so I'm looking forward to seeing this gorgeous stuff on a nice sunny day!
I applied this over a basecoat, and used two layers to get the fully effect of the polish. A nice trustworthy topcoat lets the sparkles shimmer all the more, so use what you like.
Wonder what this would look like with HT on top...?

The glitter is fairly dense and gives reasonable coverage in two coats although I used 3. It leaves a smooth finish even before the top coat so you don't get that bumpy, grainy texture often associated with glitters. Unfortunately, it chips easily. I used it on my toes with CND stickey and I normally get 2-3 weeks of wear from my pedis. This chipped in a few hours. I decided to leave it on and it continued to chip over the next couple days until I gave up and removed it. The other disappointment with this color is that in the bottle, you can see some gold highlights and different shades to the teal glitter. This completely disappears on the nail and you end up with a monochromatic teal color. Still pretty but not nearly as beautiful as in the bottle. Removals was a pain but that is common to glitters. It stained my toes a sickly yellowish green.
