Smells like a man's citrus aftershave on my skin. I think on drier, cooler skin it might smell elegant.

Mark Buxton is known for creating scents that are more in the pushing-the-envelope category and that, in many ways, typify niche fragrance and in his work with DCG raised the bar on incense creations. Thus, when I started my quest for a white floral and saw the description of mb01, I thought "bingo". Hum, well, no. Mb01 opens on my skin with a masculine base (I say "masculine" because it reads as very generically masculine) of amber with some sandalwood thrown in at the edges. Soon emerges a rather screechy note of ?hyacinth (none listed but there is definitely something in here that screams HYACINTH) and something aqueous - yes, I did say aqueous- which does not leave at from that point. That's it. Very linear. Very cheap-smelling in its dime store lilac-hyacinth accord. A total let-down. No tuberose, no mimosa. In fact, nothing that recalls a real flower so much as the essence from a bathroom cleaner. Not sure what the reviewers calling this a "stunner" and "sophisticated" are sniffing, but the human brain is a funny little organ so... I would agree with "stunningly banal", but I don't think that's what they had in mind.I give it 3 lippie because, let's face it, it's definitely a notch above i-frags and what would I rate Burberry Brit if I gave this less than 3 lippies?

Available from First-in-fragrance Germany Europe.Strolling on Biehl's art gallery i'm finding an exquisite antique painting of a hindu wedding.I'm mesmerized by the technique by the vibrant colors of the saris, of the plasticity of the figures,of the passionate gestures and the happines of the expressions. The couple is sitting in the middle of an eastern garden with all the kind of offerings on their feet'and the lush vegetation covers the rest of the picture.flower petals seems to swirl in the background filling the wind with their intoxicating aura.Just how i visualise this scent. It absolutely took me away with the first spritz. And it have the loveliest top notes a refreshing and carnal at the same time combo of bergamot and mimosa. In the middle it's so masterfully blended that you don't get any individual note .it just smell like a wonderfull exotic garden from afar.I mean it's subtle ,with lots of character, nothing over the top.The staying power it's excellent and the more it stays on ,the sexier it becomes.Somehow,i have to comment that if i have sniffed this with my eyes closed i would say that it is a new Ormonde Jayne scent. And this it can only be a compliment!!

Biehl's MB 01 is hands down one of the most beautiful floral perfumes I have ever smelled. It has Mark Buxton's signature light touch and is smell-able only if you get close to the skin which I think makes it a very alluring fragrance. MB 01 is so well blended that it is hard to isolate a particular floral note but I can detect a generous helping of white musk which becomes the dominant note in the drydown, and softens and enhances the fragrance. It should also be said that MB 01 is a "warm" floral in the style of Serge Lutens "Un Lys", but in contrast to a "cold" (but equally beautiful) floral such as Frederic Malle's Lys Mediterranee. Here are the notes, courtesy of The Perfumed Court: jasmine, tuberose, champaca, gardenia, ambergris, musk and sandalwood.
