UK based. I've been using Nice and Easy Foam in "warm blonde" shades for around four years now. It was reformulated last year and since then it has been damaging my hair REALLY BADLY. The difference in the quality of my "pre-reformulated' treated hair and "post-reformulated" treated hair is astonishing. I've done so much damage over his time, because I've only just realised the reformulation is the cause of this problem - on seeking advice from a friend tonight, she told me she stopped using this foam last year due to the same issue and only NOW do I understand why my hair is looking so chronically bad. Previously, I assumed the problem must be dietary or something. Doh. Well, now it all makes sense and I'm kicking myself for not realising sooner because It really is quite obvious... The TOP 6 inches of my hair [i.e. the newer growth, which has been coloured with the new formula] is quite literally FRIED. Horrible, gnarly, frizzy and drier than straw. Also, I saw a photo of myself from behind recently and to my horror, I noticed that the top 6 inches of my hair at the back [where it has not yet gone grey, so this area lightens from the peroxide] is also considerably DARKER than the PRE-reformulated colour treated hair. I literally have a band above/below 6in line, despite not changing my box-colour or brand. Also, it no longer takes to the grey at the front very well at all. The hair BELOW this - i.e. the hair that was coloured with the OLD formula is in much better shape - but that is fast becoming irrelevant as my hair is now snapping close to the roots. So the 'new formula' seems to have been about cheapening the ingredients to increase profit - that is all the reason can be, given the formula is now much, MUCH more damaging and much less effective in lightening/colouring. Last year both Superdrug and Boots stores pulled this product. They did this in the first few months after the reformulation. Unable to find it one day in Superdrug, I asked the cashier and she told me they had taken all the boxes off the shelves because the product had been RECALLED! She said she didn't know the reason but it was unlikely they [SD] were discontinuing it, as it was one of their best selling box dyes. But they did indeed discontinue it - it never hit the shelves in there again. They still sell Clairol box colours- just not THIS foam dye hair rot. I think it's clear why! Unfortunately [with hindsight], instead of choosing a different product, I started buying it from my local small pharmacy. I am on here now looking for an new brand of box colour, as my hair [previously luscious, thick and almost to waist length] is now SNAPPING close to the roots. It is - quite literally - rotten and looks terrible, with many broken and frizzy hairs that are just over an inch long, sticking up skywards. I have left my roots to grow out for 2 months now, as I am in terror of colouring it again in case it finally gives up completely and falls out. It is in that bad a state! have one box of the foam dye left and I do not DARE use it! Total hair rot! Steer clear.
