Gillette

I usually use and prefer the Schick Intuition razor with built-in skin conditioning solid bars of moisture. With the Schick intuition razor, I do not need to use shave cream. This horrid Gillette Venus Comfortglide scraped along my skin and did not give a close shave. Even when I used it with shave cream !! The Venus Comfortglide razor has two moisture bars that are flexible. The problem is, they do not work. I did not find this razor to glide easily over hard-to-shave areas of skin, like my knees. After using this on my legs, my legs looked and felt like I had hired a monkey to shave them. I was afraid to use this on my armpit area for fear of cutting myself. I will never switch from the Schick intuition again. I totally regret purchasing this and the Gillette Venus shave cream also.

I have this in the freesia scent which is overly sweet and cloying. The scent gave me a headache. This is essentially the old Olay Moisture Ribbons Plus bath gel put into a tube to be a shave cream. It even states this on the label. So this is like using a bath gel to shave your legs, which has never worked out well for me. This applies like bath gel and does not foam. Left my skin feeling prickly and irritated. Only used once and tossed it away. Terrible product.

I've never been one to spend money on razors. I figure a razor is a razor, plus it's not like a fun purchase. I didn't think they'd make much difference investing in one blade over another.

I went to ulta to stock up on the basic Gillette cartridges. Just the cheapest ones they have -- what I usually get.

In my box was 3 of the classic Gillette razors and one cartridge of Gillette Venus swirl. So I don't know if this was a padkaging error (likely) or a stroke of marketing genius.

Yesterday when I went to refill my razor I happened to reach for the Venus cartridge so I used that in the shower and HOLY CRAP.

A. I cannot ever shave without cutting myself. One of the many reasons I can't stand shaving to begin with. The padded design made it so easy to glide over my legs and whatnot. I didn't get cut at all. Nor did it even irritate my skin. No bumps either

B. I'm soooooo smooth. Like honestly as a brunette w a fair amount of course leg hair that has been shaving since age 11, I barely ever get a completely smooth shave. The shave where my legs are butt soft.... this gave that. I keep periodically touching my legs in disbelief. They're so so smooth.

This razor is bomb. I'll definitely be investing from now on even though these refills are like$10 freaking dollars more than the regular ones, I see now why they're worth it.

I love this shave gel! It seems to be more creamy and thick than the other Satin Care shave gels. I haven't had any razor burn or irritation while using this. It's fragrance free which is nice if you're very sensitive to fragrance.

I am not a fan of disposable razors - the blades are never sharp/even enough and they go dull after 1 or 2 uses. Daisy has been around for.eh.vehr. and in a pinch, they are fine but Gilette (Venus) and some BIC (not Bic Soleil) are better, even still I hate disposables. Gimme me a handle and good blades any day. Or wax!

In the mean time, be careful, watch your knees and ankles and shave away...
