solid brush cleaner! i have no complaints. it's effective, smells nice, and removes every bit of makeup from my brushes. i've used dr. bronner's liquid castile soap to clean my makeup brushes for years now and i bought this hoping it would be gentler on the bristles (i'd been noticing for a while that my brushes would get quite scratchy fairly quickly and wasn't sure if it was just because they are all synthetic) but alas, i think the issue was just that i wasn't removing the soap thoroughly enough at the end of my cleaning routine. it's definitely a good brush cleaner, but i think i'm going to stick with the dr. bronners as it's far more cost effective for me.

I am comparing this sponge to the beauty blender. I was looking for an original beauty blender dupe and this one isn't 100%, but for the cheap price, it works. You can use it wet or dry so I tried it wet just like a BB. It does grow in size, but I found it gets way too soft for blending products. It was difficult to stipple or pat this sponge on my face when it was wet because it would compress and bend too much. I much prefer to use this dry since that's when it has comparable bounce and firmness to a wet BB. Other notes: shorter dry time, same finish to makeup, soaks up the same amount of product, way easier to clean. Overall, I am happy with this sponge and will continue to use it dry instead of wet.

Perfecting Blender Ecofoam Makeup Sponge

This is called the "Perfecting Blender" and comes in different shapes, colors and also a duo pack, all are made with the same (usually green) "Eco Foam". I like the wedge shape but its a very firm and dense foam that doesn't get very wet and doesn't expand much at all. Lasting power is extremely poor. The first one of mine started tearing and breaking off little green pieces of foam on my face after the 4th use. The 2nd one started doing the same after the 3rd use. I usually get at least 3 months+ from my sponges, these are absolute rubbish by comparison. Not sure what is "Eco" about it, unless they are recycling rubbish to make it. Save your money and go buy Real Techniques, Beauty Blender or ELF sponges instead.
