Banana Flambee

One of Demeter's most highly rated PMU sprays on their actual website and other review sites, however for me it's definitely not one that I enjoyed using and had to ponder if the product that I had was the same one everyone else was raving about!? Firstly the fragrance just isn't right. It starts off with a strong note of clove (?) and then quickly morphs into something else that barely resembles banana in any form. On my skin it's even worse...like a burnt plastic smell that I couldn't wash off fast enough. I find the same thing happens with many of Demeter's sweeter fragrances that are not caramel based or from that family of fragrances. Any PMU of theirs that's supposed to resemble a cake of any sort tends to share this problem. My advice: if it's a sweet fragrance from their collection you're looking for, stick with caramel or Sticky Toffee Pudding. Caramel has better longevity, almost like an EDT. Sticky Toffee pudding is sweeter, very sweet so be warned but doesn't last very long! From the fruit/dessert ones Lemon Meringue is true to its namesake and Orange Cream Pop is pretty good too. And finally Watermelon Lollipop deserves a shout out - it's tangy, tart and mouth watering, but doesn't last long sadly. Oh and can't forget Frozen Margarita too! However the others - of which I've tried the vast majority of, just aren't worth it, Banana Flambee sadly being one of them... Selena x ~ My HG list ~ (As I've sampled 100s of skin, hair and m/u products over the last decade and a half, I thought it might be useful to share my top 10 must-have products, subject to change if and when I come across something more effective. I love constantly trying out new stuff - usually sample sizes via e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora) 1. Hair Loss Treatment: ‘Divine Herbal’ - Hair Oil 2. Lip Balm: 'Nuxe' - Reve De Miel Lip Balm 3. Pigmentation + Anti-Ageing Treatment: ‘Divine Herbal’ - Facial Treatment Serum 4. Cleanser: 'Paula's Choice' - Skin Balancing Cleanser 5. Concealer: ‘Mac’ - Studio Finish Concealer 6. Lash Growth Serum: ‘Divine Herbal’ - Divinelash 7. Foundation/SPF: ‘Juice Beauty’ - Stem Cellular Repair (warm glow) 8. Face Scrub: ‘Sisley' - Botanical Gentle Buffing Cream 9. Moisturizer: ‘Lush' - Enzymion 10. Hand Cream: 'Origins' - Make A Difference Rejuvenating Hand Treatment

This is a really cool smell. Refreshing (you can literally 'smell' the ice cubes and tequila), slightly salty, lime-tinged, boozy and above all fun! Slightly sweeter-smelling than the real thing too. There's no way I'd wear this unless around people who know me, as it smells like you've downed a dozen frozen Margarita's OR bathed in a tub full of them (not the best first impression on a night out!). Having said that, the initial blast does simmer down within half an hour, so if you spritz some time before heading out, you should be left with just a 'Margarita afterthought'. I love it, but definitely a scent I prefer wearing in my own company.    Selena x ~ My HG list ~ (As I've sampled 100s of skin, hair and m/u products over the last decade and a half, I thought it might be useful to share my top 10 must-have products, subject to change if and when I come across something more effective. If you love the smell of pure dark chocolate...then this is as close as anything in the Demeter line up but definitely more of a dark choc-cocoa thing going on here. It's a 'pick-me-up' spray so it won't last long keep in mind. I find when sprayed in the air it's more authentically dark chocolate/cocoa that lasts for about 5-10 minutes, but on my skin it's more 'stale cocoa with a hint of tobacco' - or so I've been told! Personally I don't get the tobacco note but more than one person has, so I've stopped spraying on my skin, at least when out and about in public. I also have this in the body massage oil which provides a bit more longevity when layered, but not significantly so. Btw this is the same as the 'Hershey dark Chocolate' PMU, but just re-branded in recent years.
