originally bought this product for my face, but after testing the consistency, this is more of a body lotion type of product. the reviewer below who mentions its like wax is correct, its very thick almost paste like and VERY difficult to work into skin, it kind of pills ups and you really have to massage it in. that being said, after its massaged in, it gives your skin this barrier of velvety softness- if you've ever had that silky feeling after applying primer. i wouldn't say its the most moisturizing, this is one of those few lotions that probably work better when your skin is not damp from the shower, simply bc u need the traction to work it in

I am always looking for cruelty free products that are reasonably priced and actually work, but unfortunately this lotion does not fit the bill. I use 2 prescription topical acne meds, and my face tends to get dry as a result. I am reluctant to use oily moisturizers because I break out easily. But as others have said, this lotion is waxy and has a weird consistency. I gave it a try a few times on my face, but I ended up getting these balls of waxy lotion all over my face, especially around my eyebrows. I had to wipe most of the lotion off before putting on foundation. Now I'm stuck with this huge 16 oz. container of lotion, so I'll probably use it on my legs in the summer so it won't go to waste. I am close to giving up my search for a good value and just using moisturizers that are expensive but I know will work. This is the worst facial moisturizer I have ever used!

I love this lotion. It's light, absorbs easily and totally non-greasy. It's great on the body for hot summer days and when I just want light moisture for my combo facial skin. This lotion contains NaPCA (a natural humectant that attracts moisture from the environment), green tea & ginkgo biloba but, unfortunately, no SPF. I'm sensitive to scents but the light fresh scent of this product doesn't bother me. Great price for a huge bottle with a pump.
EDIT: Has this been reformulated? It used to be a light, thin lotion. Now it seems thick and waxy? Seems to work alright but I preferred the thin lotion consistency. continued >>

Did not make my face sting, and I have extremely sensitive skin. Such a huge tub for under $12.
Can't wait to try the other stuff from this line

In high school, I swore by this stuff. But I also smoked and wore combat boots, so we can't rely on High School Me for anything. I will say that this stuff comes in an enormous bottle for, like, $10 and it lasts forever, which is more than I can say for that Doc Martens trend. As I've gotten older (sigh), I find that my skin is a bit drier, so this just doesn't cut it. Neither do combat boots.

I am N-O, and sensitive. This is a really good light summer moisturizer or a good one to use during the winter when you don't wan to pile on a heavier moisturizer. The price is great, and it has a light, humectrant type of feel to it. No breakouts or sensitivity problems. Good light moisturizer if your skin is oily.

I totally have to agree with Paula B on this one-what an awful product! It feels like wax when you apply it to your face, probably becaue IT IS WAX. If you read the ingredients list you'll see that that's pretty much all that it is. Yuck, definitely a must miss-this stuff will clog your pores like you wouldn't believe. Give it the big miss!

I bought this because of the great reviews on MUA-it didn't work at all! My face was really dry-I'd put it on and all the flakes would still be there the same as they were before i put the lotion on! Even after at least 5 coats! Now I'm stuck with a huge bottle of it! Yuck this one stinks! that reminds me, i didn't like the smell either!

Love this! It absorbs very well and leaves my oily skin matte and breakout free. My face feels smoother and healthier after using this for a few days. Minus a lipstick, because no SPF. So it's an addition to my plethora of night treatments.
Update: After trying other oil free moisturizers, I have concluded this is the best for my slightly oily skin. It is light, greaseless, and does not break me out. Fabulous!

I love this stuff and I absolutely slather it onto my face. It's perfect for summer and in the winter I just add a few more coats. I find it is has no odour. I buy it in the pump, which is inconvenient for travelling, but way worth the $$ you save. This is the best oil-free moisturizer ever. This is not a good moisturizer for those who have dry skin - it is too light. For normal skin, it's perfect. I steer my dry-skinned firends to KMF's "olive & oil" moisturizer, which I occasionally use in the winter if I'm dry. continued >>

I read a review about this by a makeup artist that recommended it as a facial moisturizer, but I was a little nervous about using it on my face because it isn't specifically for it. It actually works nicely. It is very light and greaseless, however, I have combo skin, and it didn't smoothe out all the flakes. My forehead did not get very oily though. Best of all, it did not irritate my skin at all. The scent is very pleasant, but hardly noticeable. Overall, I think this is a good moisturizer for oily/combo/sensitive skin, but not for drier skin. It comes in a HUGE 16+oz bottle for only $8-10.
I also tried it as a body moisturizer, and wrote another review about that. EDIT: I am no longer using this.

I have the 4 oz tube, which i like for size and the twist open top, that never comes off. It has no fragrance added, and has green tea & ginko biloba along with NaPCA which extracts moisture from the air. I use this all the time, with no breakout. Goes on without ANY greasiness and absorbs easily. I think it would be good for oily or combo skin type, it's not very heavy. Can be used anytime of the day. I enjoy the natural scent. Would definitely rebuy. continued >>
