I want to comment on the travel size of this - the shampoo was thick and barely ran out of the bottle. The BOTTLE was made of the hardest plastic on earth - no squeezin' HERE, baby. Have to take off the cap or break a finger or two. I don't remember when packaging ever bugged me as much as this did.
I used the shampoo up and can't say I cared for the job it did. I felt like it didn't cut thru the oily scalp I own.
Better stuff out there, I am sure.
I remember loving this when I was younger... But the smell isn't as great or powerful anymore. It also doesn't lather.. Which can bug some people. I know it's not stopping my hair of oils but I also can't stand the feeling it isn't really cleaning my hair. It does work well, and my hair feels fine with it. The price is great when compared to other shampoos they make. I think I will switch to bumble and bumble, though.
I'm surprised to read all of the negative reviews for this product and about how some women developed acne from the use of this. I find that odd as I have VERY acne prone skin and I haven't had any recurring spots around my scalp, face or back. I also cleanse properly after shampooing and conditioning to make sure I haven't missed any residue. I have baby fine hair and a very oily scalp so I have to shampoo daily. I was using regular 'ole green Prell before this which worked well but I began to develop some build up and needed to switch shampoos. I rotate between this and Prell every so often and I'm no longer suffering from any build up. The smell is very fresh and clean and I love the tingling sensation. The end result is wonderful and my scalp is left beautifully shiny and clean (which is always an issue with my oily hair). I pair this with Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Conditioner on my ends, and ONLY on my ends ensuring my scalp doesn't get any residue. Honestly, this product is wonderful if you use it correctly and you have the type of hair required for it. Ladies with thick, coarse, or dry hair need to stay away from this as it will only do further damage. It's a clarifying shampoo for naturally oily, fine hair. I use this product daily and I love it more and more!
I have very fine hair, but a lot of it. This shampoo has been my Holy Grail for giving it volume and body while maintaining a healthy shine. Love, love, love it!
Works well for my oily hair, and the scent is pleasantly reminiscent of spearmint gum. Don't get this in your eyes--it stings worse than any other shampoo I've tried.

I love Aveda, but this product isn't for me. This product is meant for people with really thin hair who wash their hair daily. I have thick hair and this shampoo dried my hair out completely. My hair has tons and tons of split ends, and has a lot of breakage in it. I was so excited to buy this and I used up almost the whole bottle, but this was definitely a waste of my money.
Don't buy!
(: Hope this helped.
Well my hair clearly hasn't read the terrible reviews on MUA because it simply LOVES this shampoo!
I have baby fine naturally grey streaked hair which falls to just below my shoulders. I'm pretty lucky for someone with lots of greys and my hair is not at all wiry and dry though the longer ends do tend towards dryness now and again whilst the roots are edging towards greasiness by the end of the second day, so I really only need a simple lightweight shampoo which smells good, is gentle enough for daily use and makes my hair shine - this one delivers on all counts, I'll rebuy.

This made my roots feel so disgustingly oily, I have to wash or after 2 days. Not only that, it costs $40 for one bottle. Do not buy this product.. You can buy better and cheaper
DO. NOT. BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!! this stuff is absolutely, horribly, terribly AWFUL! before use, I had lush, shiny, healthy, long hair and beautiful, clear skin. after use? parched, dry hair, dandruff, and horrific bacne and acne all over my forehead :( it only took 2 weeks of use to wreak this havoc and I am *still* trying to get over the effects :( I am literally traumatized and will do anything to ensure no woman uses this poison junk; I wouldn't even wish it on my worst enemy! I am heartbroken trying to fix my back and face, now ridden with terrible acne. what a horrible product.
IF your hair is short, to shoulder length, not-color-treated, already in healthy condition but youre looking for that fresh, scent that wakes you up in the AM and you have moderately oily scalp and at the crown of your hair and you don't wash your hair daily then this is for you. So many people comment how drying, tangling it is, that's because you're using the wrong shampoo for your hair. The same goes with the matching conditioner, it's a rinse, just to detangle and the scent will be longer-lasting. The girl who helped me at Aveda is super nice, she is so knowledgable about the products. This shampoo will take out all the oil, give you lift and volume where you need it! Love this stuff.
