I have fine, unruly hair and this shampoo makes it look even worse. I tried it with a matching conditionner, but it did not work either. The product has a delicious smell, but that's about it.
I have great hair. I've even had my hair photographed for ads. Usually I have been able to pull just anything on the shelf that piqued my interest when it comes to shampoo. Naturally some are better than others and some I didn't like. Limpness is usually the only problem I have with poor performance shampoos. So, I begin trying to go green: enter a new animal. I think we all are aware that shampoo and conditioner is a difficult animal to approach when going green. I've had some luck, but for the most part, it's a difficult and uphill battle, constantly. I continue the search. I loved the scent of this Avalon Grapefruit and Geranium shampoo. Why not?
I shampooed with this stuff and my hair looked like skank. I looked like skank. Couldn't get arrested. My hair which is normally shiny and vibrant looked like I had gotten in a fight with a corn broom, the corn broom winning. I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Walked away for a few days, it could have been hormones, right? No. Always the same, horrific results. I generously gave it several tries. I won't say this is the worst shampoo I've ever used: on the other hand, there is a good chance that it is.
This is my favorite "natural" shampoo. I'm a big fan of grapefruit scented products, and this one smells like grapefruit without being cloying or chemically. It rinses out easily and leaves my hair soft and manageable when paired with the matching conditioner, but I have to say that I like the shampoo much better than the conditioner. Since I like the scent, I keep rebuying even though I can only find it online.
