This is my HG shampoo! Previously, I'd been using Frederic Fekkai's Technician Shampoo and Conditioner. But, when Sephora stopped carrying it, I switched to this product on an SA's suggestion. My hair has never been so soft and smooth! I have pretty oily hair and need to wash it everyday. The Fekkai shampoo & conditioner didn't leave my hair dry, but it didn't come close to leaving it as smooth as this Alterna caviar anti-aging moisturizing shampoo does.

Because of how moisturizing this shampoo is, i can't go for too long without washing. But I'd rather use this product and wash more frequently to get such soft hair than go back to any other shampoo I've ever used. continued >>

I love the Caviar Anti-Aging Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner! They are expensive, but they're worth it! I used to get my hair dyed blonde, and then I switched to brunette a few months ago. I have fine, damaged hair that gets easily weighed down. This line moisturizes my hair without weighing it down. It makes my hair soft, shiny, and less frizzy. I get pretty hair commercial hair when I used the shampoo and conditioner!

The price is pretty damn expensive but the smell, shine and softness of Alterna make it a nice treat or every once in a while purchase.

This one is a keeper! It's one of the few shampoos that agrees with me and my sensitive scalp and does what a shampoo is supposed to and more! Strongest point: it has not managed to irritate my scalp in any way or fuck it up in some way as most shampoos tend to (even the ultra-gentle ones)! Plus it's really, really, really gentle on hair follicles, when I wash with this one I see very few hair down the drain, less than 10, literally. I think it's amazing considering that it also manages to get hair really clean. Perfection, literally! There is a very light scent to it, something fresh-citrusy, but it fades and is not annoying. It even lathers up quite a bit, which is kinda rare for sulfate-free shampoos, and it's really easy to work with, the texture is concentrated cream (by which I mean you need a bit less product that usual) and it rinses out beautifully as well. There is need for a conditioner afterwards, because the part about this being a 'moisturizing' shampoo is a bit off, I fail to notice any serious moisturizing action when using this shampoo alone. But that's not really the main purpose of a shampoo, I mean, it cleanses hair and does an amazing job at it and that's enough to make me happy.

I absolutely LOVE this shampoo! It's free of all those harsh/harmful chemicals, smells like fresh grapefruit and leaves my hair feeling clean, smooth and soft. I'm now on my third bottle and see myself using this shampoo for a while. I love the conditioner too, but the shampoo is more essential I believe, and could still be paired up with another brand of conditioner.

I work for a beauty retailer so I got this shampoo and the matching condition as gratis. Glad I did because if I actually paid 32 each for these..I would've cried. First couple times , I loved using this stuff. My hair was super soft and shiny. However, I feel that my hair is now drier than before even after using moisturizing hair masks. I have normal, straight/wavy hair that is past my shoulders. I do love the packaging but honestly this is not worth the money. I will go back to my carol's daughter smoothing shampoo that is half the price and works much better.

omg. just used this for the first time tonight and i love it cannot stop stroking my hair like some crazy narcissist. makes my hair SO soft. i have long, wavy, thick colored hair that can get quite dry (though scalp is oily ugh), get the frizzies and on top of that my niece cut a few strands of my hair while i was sleeping and now i have a couple of pieces that stick straight up unless i lock them down with product. so i am needing some extra moisture/anti frizz properties nowadays out of my haircare haha. this has been a godsend. along with the fekkai color conditioner my hair is super soft, picture perfect (well as picture perfect as its going to be i think), but super nice--love it! so much more manageable to dry and i have to straighten it less/for less time which is nice. i havent used the conditioner yet. for reference other shampoos ive liked in the past: bumble n bumble seaweed shampoo, rusk bright (but started to make my hair brassy), enjoy luxury shampoo, fekkai color shampoo (a little too rich for my hair sometimes though), pureology hydrating. shampoos that have been evil to my hair: redken (weighs it down like nobodys business), nexxus, kerastase (makes my hair straw like and tangled like crazy!), tigi :(.
the bottle is opaque, purple which is probably supposed to be the regal color to go along with the whole caviar concept but honestly i think it doesnt really look all nice in the shower where i like light and bright things not dark bottles where i cant see whats going on inside them. the dispenser part of this bottle is so weird. its like a little burpy plastic part that is kind of ugly looking. however that said i can live with the bottle....the smell is awesome i love it although others here seem to be iffy on it. smells like oranges and vanilla to me at least, love it. almost wish i had a perfume like that haha.
love it. would def buy it again. a little pricey but whatever my hairs worth it. so is yours, ladies!

I got a sample of this and the matching conditioner. I had been so excited to try this after seeing it mentioned in a magazine. Ick ick ick. This stuff was so horrible. I do like it was sulfate free, but it felt like it did not really clean my hair and the scent was icky. Would not use. Ever.

I'm so surprised by the low ratings here! This is the first sulfate free shampoo I've actually been happy with! It leaves my hair cleansed yet moisturized. Most sulfate free shampoos leave my hair gross feeling or full of residue because I use some silicon products in my hair..but this shampoo foams up enough to get rid of product build up and leaves hair soft and full of body.

I have fine, colored hair and really enjoy this shampoo. My holy grail has been Philip B. Russian Imperial but now I alternate with this so that my hair gets a break from sulfates.

With this I don't need conditioner (I don't normally need conditioner regardless..but esp with this shampoo) - I use a leave in/detangler and blow dry. I have used it 3-4 times before writing this review since most first tries are amazing ..and results fade soon after. Love it.

This shampoo actually gave me really nice hair. My hair was soft, supple, bouncy and so, so shiny. It felt like the perfect balance of moisture (not weighed down like All Soft) and not a dried up frizz ball. And honestly, if this shampoo was under $15, I would probably be writing a much more glowing review. But apparently I am having a hard time rinsing my $32 per 8oz bottle down the drain each day. I start to see little dollar signs going down the drain. So yes this is a good shampoo, and I really like the results. But as of this review, if I am going to spend $32 for a small bottle of shampoo, I better walk out of that bathroom with Cindy Crawford hair. I put down that I won't buy again (well maybe the travel sizes occasionally) cuz I just can't justify spending this much on a shampoo unless it is a miracle.

FYI - When I try a shampoo, all other aspects, including the conditioner stay the same so I know any difference I see is the shampoo.
