The powder is very fine and the texture is velvety smooth. So you won't get miniscule grains on your face upon application. Some compact powders are rough and create a dusty look. This reminds me of my T'LeClerc loose powder except in compact form. It leaves a very thin film of powder on the face. You won't get a chalky face. It's good for dry skin. The SA told me that this is especially good for dehydrated skin and she's absolutely right. I'm tossing out my Lancome Maquifinish (expensive and grainy).
