it's ok i guess. I agree with others, it's just not moisturizing enough. I have combo/oily skin that gets dry after i use my cleanser, so i do like to use a moisturizer. To get the best effect out of this i use a TON of this! Even then I don't think my skin is moisturized enough. To put how much I use in perspective: I've had this for roughly a month and I'm halfway done with the tube. Moisturizers usually last me months on end and I can tell that this won't. This controls oil by basically drying out your skin, which isn't what I wanted. I mean it works fine, but I want my skin to act like normal skin, not dry skin. Lately my skin has been feeling a bit flaky...more "combo" instead of oily lately. Maybe it's because of this? If you have super oily skin, maybe this would work better but if you have combo skin I'd stay away. Wouldn't buy again.

I am surprised with the low ratings here, this moisturizer has served me well throughout my high school and college years, just because its dirt cheap and works well. I have been battling with acne all my life, even though this particular moisturizer didnt necessarily combat them, but it didnt worsen my skin. I dont get break-outs when I'm using this. I have tried other oil balancing moisturizers prior to this, and after prolonged usage, the moisturizers usually dry out my skin and I'm left with skin that's as rough as sand papers and dry patches all over. This hydrates well and really sinks in to the skin.

Its oil controlling properties arent really great as i get shiny after 4 hours with this. regardless, this hydrates well and doesnt dry out my skin and doesnt break me out. The texture is a lil weird like some sort of paste, but once applied it doesnt feel heavy at all. I dont necessarily think this hydrates me well, when i get dry patches from acne medication. This, i believe is suitable for the truly oily skin girls that want adequate hydration minus it being thick or breaking you out. I have used 4-5 tubs of this. One tub can last you up to a year with daily-twice-a day usage. I will not repurchase this simply because my skin has changed a lot since those oily days. I have more of a combination skin now, so i need a little more hydration than this could provide, hence i've moved elsewhere. But I would still recommend this for truly oily skin girls who want basic good moisturizers that doesnt clog pores

I really wanted this product to work for me. But it didn't. I bought this after I developed a mild acne outbreak on my forehead. My skin was oily but dry and flaking at the same time. When I applied this on my face. It made my face itch when I perspired. It does have its merits- it made my skin feel soft and supple. Maybe it was just my fussy skin reacting to something in this moisturizer.

For a high street product, this is incredible.
As someone who suffers cruelly from oily skin, I bought this as a last hope having been unable to find anything that would actually sink into my skin and not sit on it, causing my make up to slide off like cake mix!
And this was it. Its quite an odd texture but it seeps into the skin wonderfully and doesn't leave a film of any kind. The smell is minimal and very refreshing. This is a brilliant light weight product, ideal for summer.

I like this product too even though it's not highly raved here. I have combination-oily skin and I am acne prone as well. I can't use moisturizers that are rich because they will clog my pores, this is light-weight and doesnt clog me up. It also does not leave a sticky residue which many moisturizers do. Only con is that it's not hydrating enough , which are what moisturizers are supposed to be.

I am not having much luck with face creams right now. I've tried so many these past few weeks that I am starting to get really annoyed! Is it so hard to ask for a cream to moisturise my cheeks, but not give me spots?!
Anyway, this cream took too much moisture out of my face and really emphasised the dry patches on my cheeks. After a couple of days use, it even started to dry out my t-zone, making it feel tight. I think this cream - actually the whole Oil Balancing range - would really work best on people who don't have any dry patches on their face at all and who really suffer from oily skin.
It worked fine as a make-up base, and luckily my 'Revlon Colorstay' foundation didn't show up the dry patches on my face, but this cream didn't seem to mattify my face throughout the day, considering it completely takes the oil away. My t-zone is pretty oily, and especially so as the day goes on, but this cream only seemed to give me that "matte look" for a maximum of about 4 hours.

Am I the only who like this? I used this one before.. But I think I got too matte in the skin.. So I stopped using it. This one took away all my pimples that I had before.. It was really good. Love this one in the summer when the skin is really shiny, but this one makes it really good.
I actually love this one.. Every other moisturizers that I tried have borke my out.. EXCEPT this one.. Ohh i miss it..

After using it daily I started to break out even more than before. Not good. It does eliminate shine though, so I would only use this occasionally for going out at night, which is when my face tends to get oily and it's also good to have a matte face in front of the camera!

I have an oily T zone and normal cheeks etc. I am acne prone and have to blot my face serveral times a day so I was after a oil controlling moisturiser and this was on offer in my local Superdrug so I thought I would give it a try.....
I was dissappointed :-(
It didnt provide me with enough moisture (I usually only need a light moisturiser) but my skin drank this up and afterwards still felt parched. It was as if there just wasnt enough moisturising properties in this compared to other drugstore moisturisers, and I didnt like that at all. I know oily skinned woman (and men) dont usually want a heavy moisturiser for fear of clogged pores, but this really did seem lacking in the moisture department!!
It did NOTHING to control oil and make me less shiney. Nothing at all. With or without make up I was still blotting as much as before using this moisturiser.
I am not impressed. I will not re-purchase. Yes it was cheap but I am not going to buy something that does nothing for skin for the sake of it being cheap!!
Dont expect miracles ladies....maybe only get it if its on offer so your not too disappointed if it doesnt deliver? I am giving it 2 stars for the fact it didnt break me out like some have in the past, and the packaging is good - its easy to get the right amount out and its pretty hygenic. I hate things where you have to put your finger in the tub etc - Gross!

Been using this product for about a week now along with the Oil Balancing Scub from the same range and had really good results so far. I have very oily skin which I used to just try and ignore rather that cure so I dont have much to compare this to however It seems to work. My skin is soft, it mattifys my skin immediately and keeps it that way untill late afternoon. The only draw back for me is the scent.....its not bad, just not great. I will definately purchase this again untill I find something better for a similar price.

I thought that it was quite expensive for such a small amount, but eventually purchased it since I bought into the whole "no fragrance, no colour" thing. The product smelt weird, but it was bearable.
I applied it before going to sleep, and after waking up, found that my forehead and cheeks were way more oiler than usual. Furthermore, I think it caused my forehead to break out a little after using it for 2 days. The only pro was that it seemed to control oil when used during the day.

Really didn't like this product, smelt quite weird and left my skin looking greasy. I liked the fact that it didn't make me break out, but it just wasn't for me.

I am undecided about this one. It does instantly mattify skin but I can't help but feel it is a bit suffocating. You have to use a little bit and rub it in well else you can't use foundation over the top- it just rolls and flakes off.
I don't think I will bother buying again.

Age: 30-35 Skin: Sensitive, Fair, Warm Hair: Blond, Other, Fine Eyes: Blue

PROS:
Immediately mattifies skin
Fragrance free, didn't sting my sensitive skin
Easy to squeeze out the perfect amount with no mess
Pretty tube

CONS:
Breaks out my skin and blocks pores in a weeks use (it contains a high level of the comedogenic ingredient glyceryl stearate)
Skin feels tight, dehyrated and tacky to touch
Highlights wrinkles in 30's oily skin
Creates red blotchy dull skin tone

I was thinking how poor my skin looked when using this product so I applied to to one half of my friends face after I'd done the same for myself and took a closer look after it had settled (15 minutes). My friend doesn't have sensitive skin but like mine it went a little red and blotchy with a sick look to the skin on the side with the Simple oil control moisturiser. The other side with the Nivea Visage shine control moisturiser looked normal and glowy and fresh toned. 2 results say try another shine control cream as this one is Simply ugly...

I use this all the time why? it's simple yeah yeah yeah it won't keep oil at bay but lets face it nothing will!!!!! it's got no oil in it that I can feel but it moisturises really well, a little goes so far. It's not cheap but it's moderately priced i guess. the tube well it is a bit small and to be honest I have run out but seeing as alittle goes a long way it'll last if you don't quirt it out like a mad woman.
Is it the best thing on the market probably not keep on looking one thing I DONT LIKE about this is my skin loses all radiance with it on, you know that natural brightness maybe that's supposed to stop the oil but it doesn't anyway when I want my skin to look bright as it is I use a different moisturiser

It seems like a never ending story for me to find a moisturiser which controls oil. I have very oil skin and need to use blotting paper 3 times during work hours, this does absolutely nothing for me, does not control oil at all.

i had really high hopes for this product! having had severe acne before and have only just had it cleared - i am extremely careful about what i put on my face for fear of a breakout. seeing that it said 'oil balancing' i thought it would give me just enough moisture and ensure i didn't break out. however, this did. badly. and i am so so dissapointed. instead, i've gone back to my oil free moisturising fluid by nivea visage which has never let me down.

I prefer this to Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser, because it is oil-free. SHLM left a very slight dull layer on my skin, probably due to the paraffin. But be warned, Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser is only for the very oily! It is very affordable, widely available in Boots, efficiently and hygienically packaged. I love the consistency of this, somewhere between a lotion and cream. It spreads easily, feels light and cooling and is instantly absorbed, leaving a matte, almost powdery finish to my face. However, it immediately dries my lips out and I don't much like the powdery feeling. I'll definitely keep this in mind for my T-zone in summer to keep oilies at bay.

There's nothing special about this moisturiser. My skin stayed soft, it mattifies a little bit. It isn't really mattifying for me, but it certainly did not make my skin more oily.
