Gels/Soaps -Trader Joe's -(Joes) Tea Tree Tingle Body Wash

We don't have a Trader Joe's in Canada where I live and I always wanted to check it out after hearing so many things about it. I actually went there for food items while visiting the US and imagine my surprise when I saw all the great health and beauty items I bought a couple of soaps and body washes this being one of them.

I was so pleasantly surprised at the nice quality of this wash. I have always liked tea tree oil items and this one was excellent. Smelled good, lathered nice and the consistency was perfect for a wash. its wasnt goooy or toi cream like. Packaging was simple but was a good designed bottle for handling with wet hands.

Moisturizers -Trader Joe's -Nourish Oil-Free Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer

on 7/5/2018 10:40:00 AM

This product made me SO oily within minutes of application (I even checked that I hadn't mistakenly picked up the non oil-free version by mistake). Also, it contains retinol so if you are lazy like me and apply face moisturizer all over, be careful and avoid the eye area. There is no way I could use this during the day, it makes me way too oily (and I don't personally like using retinol products during the day). I didn't use it long enough to see if it could be a nighttime product. Into the garbage it goes -- at least it didn't cost more than $6.

Lotions/ Creams -Trader Joe's -Aloe Vera Gel

on 7/1/2018 3:27:00 PM

Smeared some on my face as a mask, as I used to do once upon a time with Fruit of the Earth Aloe, and got a fright when I looked in the mirror ten minutes later: tight, red, shiny, inflamed skin. Gross!

Cleansers -Trader Joe's -facial cleansing oil

on 6/30/2018 12:54:00 PM

I found I prefer oils (or balms) that emulsify to that milky white then rinses off than the warm washcloth take-off technique. That being said, I was excited to find the TJ's oil on a recent grocery run and with the price, the oils list, and the emulsifying description, it was an obvious go.

• Texture is on the thick side, which is fine but I prefer a thinner oil because the slip allows for a nicer facial massage while I cleanse.

• There's a strong scent. Overall the floral notes are pleasant, it is very strong and I focus on the smell during cleansing. Possibly an irritant to those sensitive to added fragrance.

• Eye irritant. After using many oils and balms to take, "the day off my face", I was shocked how this oil irritated my eyes. Stinging and watering was unexpected when one of the "pros" of using cleansing oils is the removal of ALL eye makeup (waterproof and non-).

• Very little milk-white emulsion when I added water. Also, did not rinse off as well as I expected. There was a heavy residue left on my face I would expect from a wipe off balm, not from a rinse off oil.

It did break down the sunscreen, the foundation, and waterproof eye makeup I regularly wore. However, I gave up after 4 nights of use because I was displeased overall with the product due to the points above. Though I could've returned it to TJ's (they have a great return policy), because I apply all my makeup using my fingers, I keep the bottle at my sink to double cleanse my hands after the makeup routine -- the "good stuff" then is saved for my face.

Gels/Soaps -Trader Joe's -All for One One for All

on 6/29/2018 12:32:00 AM

I bought this soap thinking it was one for all and it is not. To my surprise both kids screaming from the burning sensation in their eyes. I will be asking for my money back at Trader Joe’s.
