Primer/ Corrector -Neutrogena -Shine Control Primer

on 1/22/2018 10:35:00 PM

This stuff really controls oil. I'm extremely oily, but there's just a hint of shine on my nose and chin after 10 hours, and only a moderate slick feeling when I touch my face.

I honestly don't know how Shine Control Primer would work out for most skin tones, because I'm very pale, and it's noticeably white on me. It's not a bad look, since the stark whiteness neutralizes some of my redness and blends in with my face, which you can read by in the dark, but I really don't think it would look right on deeper skin tones. Unless you were wearing complete coverage foundation over it, maybe? Bad Neutrogena! Make more shades!

The cap is annoying to remove and replace because it's so wide, yet flat. This primer is fragranced, kind of a fancy hotel soap scent. Why?

Terrible product. I suffer from acne on my back and this made my breakouts sooooo much worse. It literally tripled the amount of bacne I had. For me this did not work and I do not recommend!

Cleansers -Neutrogena -Hydro Boost Whipped Foam Cleanser

Not sure what Neutrogena was thinking with this one. There is no added benefit to adding fragrance to a skin product. Better off using Clean & Clear or Cetaphil. I will not purchase.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena -Hydro Boost Water Gel

Just bad. Tried a sample of it and of course broke out everywhere (I have severe cystic adult acne and everything breaks me out, and this was still bad). You read hylaronic acid and think moisturizing, but this "moisturizer" is literally just a ton of silicones with a very, very small percentage of hylaronic acid. It's like putting foundation on your face and leaving it there without washing it off (most foundations are silicone based). Ingredients matter, y'all, and silicones are not designed to have any long term moisturizing effects on the skin, but rather act as a barrier between your skin and the elements. That's why this product could have been good if they had combined the silicones with more quality moisturizing ingredients, but as it stands, it's kind of a rip off. Of course it makes your skin feel smooth at first, but it doesn't have any actual moisturizing properties. Save your money.

The jar is pretty, though, and I'm fine with the smell.

I do not recommend this product at all!. My second time using it and let me tell you that my skin is super irritated, just when it was starting to clear up...I’m mad I decided to read the reviews after the damage has been done.
