I've had this for close to nine (9) years now, and it works just as well as when I first got it. Amazing!

Just awesome. This hairdryer dried my big, thick shoulder length natural hair in 20 minutes and my hair was left frizz-free and soft. A must have for natural hair ladies. I use it with the comb attachment and a heat glove, because I like to hold the barrel while I blow my hair out.

I've had this for a few years and love it. It's powerful and the variable heat setting is great because you can dry it fast with high heat and then finish off on a cooler setting to keep the frizz at bay.

Excellent! BIG RAVE!!! Do you have a lot of hair? Do you want to save some time drying it? This thing could blow the sand off of the beach! My old hairdyer became too weak for my change in hair syle routine (I decided to dry it every morning, it takes until 11 a.m. or so to dry naturally) and my the Conair dryer I had, which I liked very much, seemed, after using it day after day after day to be getting weaker (I know this is just my perception, it is less than a year old, high full size and high wattage). I investigated professional hair dryers and wanted a Solano, but don't want to spend that much (the model I was lemming was over $100 and I paid $39.99 at a Sally's for the Yellowbird), mostly because I don't want to wait until I have that much saved up before I buy a new dryer. I compared my old and new hair dryers side by side and so here's the scoop. Because professional dryers have motors that are designed to be used in salons all day long instead of just once a day like you would use a home they are heavier, so the whole machine is heavier (longer lasting too. So I'm lifting weight while I'm blow drying, I see that as a plus). The nozzle on this (and most professional dryers) is narrower than on my home dryer. The low speed on this dryer pushes as much air as the high setting on my old one! (My old dryer is a good, less than year old dryer mind you!) The Yellowbird gets very HOT and you CANNOT hold it too close to your scalp or in one place for too long. It is a professional dryer after all. It gets very hot and will dry your hair very dry and burn it extra crispy and probably make toast for you so I don't dry my hair 100%. I could turn it down, but then it would be my old dryer, and what would the point of that be. At the high speed it is hard to style as you dry because your hair is being wildly blown around, but I'm not trying to style it as much as I'm trying to get it straighter and dry so I'm not cold when I go outside. Professional hairdryers don't always have safety plugs on them since they aren't used in home settings near water but this one does, very important since many people have kids (I don't and I use mine in a bedroom, still it's good.) The cord is really long, very good. The filter is removable and cleanable too, if you were wondering. If you have fine hair, you don't need this. If you have thick hair that you dry every day you will save minutes by buying a professional dryer and while this is the only professional dryer I have used, this is also the most inexpensive on I have used, and I also know that the an earlier Yellowbird model was well rated the last time Consumer Reports rated hairdyers (which was about a decade ago unforunately). continued >>

Love, love, love this hair dryer! I have had this dryer for over a year and that is saying a lot as I seem to go through dryers. I am constantly turning them on and off as I dry and style my hair. This turning on and off puts a wear on the buttons and dryer. This dryer has taken my drying habits in stride. It does seem to dry my hair faster, but I really like the fact that I can control the heat intensity as I have a 5 & 6 yr old that cannot stand the heat as it gets too hot for their little sensitive heads. They do not complain when I change the setting for their hair. Very impressed with this dryer. I did purchase it at Sally's and used my Sally's card to get a discount.
