Polishes -ZOYA -Nail Polish - Erin

on 2/18/2019 11:40:00 AM

Erin is a sheer to semi sheer nude that is easy to work with. No streaking or application issues. It's not milky but sheer with a hint of color. The bottle color is a peachy-tan with a hint of yellow but more peach. On the nail 1 coat is clean and sheer with a hint of the peachy tone.

I think I prefer 1 to 2 coats, as 2 coats is more peachy and the yellow comes out and it doesn't look great, but not terrible just not a favorite, with my skin tone. 2 coats is not opague (I don't think you could get this one opague) but still semi-sheer. 3 coats doesn't do much compared to 2 coats color or sheerness wise, and for most unless you need to even out or just prefer it, it would be a waste of polish.

If you like OPI Samoan Sand or OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy it's in that family (haven't compared them side by side) with a peach that can look a touch yellow. It's clean and nice, but not going to be flattering on everyone (for reference, I'm super pale with neutral undertones).

Polishes -ZOYA -Rue

on 1/30/2019 2:17:00 PM

Overall, throughout my vast polish collection, so far ZOYA Rue is my favorite neutral polish. The way the company describes it as. "boudoir blush" to me is so spot on. I have a paler yet still extremely neutral skin tone.(meaning I have about an equal number of cool tones, as well as warm in my coloring). Which helps me to pull off just about any color. Rue is a very sophisticated pastel cream mauve shade which on me comes off so chic yet understated. I reach for it often, sometimes as a type of palette cleanser between more wild, avant garde manicures. Very classy and applies like a dream. I would definitely repurchase, if I could track down another bottle at ULTA. I find ZOYA polishes in general to be a consistently high performing brand all the way around. Great polish I gift it 5 lippies!!

Polishes -ZOYA -Nail Polish - Cadence

on 1/19/2019 3:43:00 PM

Zoya Cadence is part of the Winter Holos trio and is a medium light (light medium?) watermelon kind of syrupy jelly scattered holographic polish. I'm not sure I would consider this an actual holo (as in the China Glaze Kaleidoscope category). It's more like the micro glitter and micro flakies are holographic but there doesn't seem to be that flame effect that you get with other holos. The consistency of the polish is almost like a syrupy jelly (see my review for BB Couture Hermosa Surfer Girl - it was very similar to that consistency). It went on very smoothly and was opaque in two coats so it's not exactly in the jelly family. Drying time was very quick with Seche Vite and I was able to get a fully seven days' wear out of this. On my pale complexion with slight yellow undertones the color leaned more watermelon pink as seen in some of the online swatches. All in all, I like this color and would definitely buy it again.

Polishes -ZOYA -Nail Polish - Aggie

on 1/18/2019 7:34:00 PM

GORGEOUS!!! This polish looks amazing and I love it! I would describe Zoya's Aggie as a gold-y metallic bronze with micro sparkles. And there's a greenish color shift that's more visible in the bottle than on the nail, but it adds an antique look to the shade. I don't have anything else that looks exactly like it.

Great formula as well. Opaque in two coats and only slight brushstrokes are visible.

I would definitely buy this one again! Highly Recommended!

Top/Base Coats -ZOYA -Anchor

on 1/12/2019 10:15:00 PM

I had wanted to try Zoya Anchor for some time as it is a rubberized base coat and those work the best for me. My HG is CND Stickey but it does leave a blue tint on my nails. Anchor is clear and so I wanted to try it to avoid that blue tint. I picked this up during Zoya’s Black Friday sale.

Unfortunately this base coat does not work for me. I tried it numerous times with a variety of polish brands and it failed every time. I experienced peeling and chipping sometimes the 1st day. My manis never lasted more than a day or two with this as my base coat. With CND Stickey most of the time I get 5 or 6 good days of wear depending on my activities.

On the positive side the formula was good and it applied smoothly and evenly with no streaking or bubbling.

I paid $5 for this on sale. The regular price is $10. I would not purchase again and will purge this one at some point.
