Bottega Veneta Pour Homme

This is a wonderful scent for men that is different from the popular "blue" scents for men from recent years. It is more masculine and traditional. Top notes are Calabrian bergamot, pine, and juniper. The heart has spicy notes of Jamaican pepper, fir resins and clary sage. Base notes labdanum, leather and patchouli. Another plus is that it isn't more expensive than offering from other brands. It has a niche feel to it (it is a niche brand). This is one of the most underrated scents from the last 8 years. Get your nose on it! This also comes in Parfum, Extreme, Essence Aromatique versions

Knot Eau Absolue

This may be the best fragrance I have bought from a department store in a long while and is easily on par with more expensive juices from Amouage; Frederic Malle and whatnot. It is a modern, more easily wearable version of older, sultry fragrances that hissed and purred sexily on your skin, you know the stuff that left many of us with a feel of luxury, power and charisma even when the feel came from a bottle of Revlon Ciara - which I admire tremendously btw. It will also please balsamic perfume lovers I think. The nose behind it is Daniela Andrier who is the name behind so many respectable fragrances from Prada's Infusion d'Iris to Guerlain's Angelique Noire and the legendary Kenzo Le Monde est Beau. Knot Absolue is a sweet balsamic fragrance that goes bass rather than delving into syrupy territory, it feels like heavy gold on my skin. It is golden, has that purring, slightly animalic slightly incensy DNA with many masterpieces but whereas so many perfumes of this feel go into the unashamed skank, indoles or other heavy stuff territory, Knot Eau Absolute also preserves a slightly casual, sunnier, bright, cool side to it. Warmth and coolness of the heliotrope, lavender and some white florals together result in a perfume full of character that feels like a younger and more urban sister of Chanel No.5, Amouage Ubar, Serge Lutens La Myrhhe. Love love love it and will buy it again and again.

Illusione For Her Eau de Parfum

Notes: • Top notes: bergamot, blackcurrant • Heart notes: orange blossom, green fig • Base notes: olive wood, tonka bean When I first smelled “Illusione”, it was like in a movie- a flashback to a particular moment of my childhood- spending summer at my grandmas house, 20 years ago. There’s something in this fragrance that instantly makes me think of my Nana (maybe she used a perfume with similar notes?). I almost got choked up (crazy as it sounds). I work for a beauty retailer and BV perfumes usually get polarizing reviews because of the leather notes that dominate in most of their formulas. Many people don’t like them, but many people can’t live without them. But Illusione instantly became a hit, well loved by almost everyone. It’s already our bestseller, and no wonder- it’s a perfect fragrance for summer months. The fragrance is light, airy, elusive- and hard to forget. There’s something very delightful in it, all notes make a perfect harmony. It’s hard to distinguish the most prominent note, and it makes the fragrance very unique. It stands out because it’s not sweet, unlike most newly launched “mass market” perfumes. Go and get yourself acquainted with that lovely fragrance- you may fall in love with it!
