Fabulous oil. It has saved my skin many times over. The glass bottle is a pain, but if you don't travel it is dealable with. The product more than makes up for it. If you have dry skin, then I heartily recommend this oil. I'm on my fourth bottle!

So, I am an Aesop addict and it is the only face and body brand I will buy. I have suffered from psoriasis and dry skin forever and is the only thing I trust on my skin. The packaging is also aesthetically pleasing even if Carl Yung quotes are a bit much for shampoo. So anyway, the Fabulous Face Oil could not have a more appropriate name. It IS fabulous. I use it as a night serum and sometimes when I am hungover in the morning and my skin is really lack lustre. I find it is hydrating, nourishing and plumping. I wake up with the softest, brightest, clearest skin. The smell is incredible. All Aesop stuff smells amazing. Some user commented it smells like diesel fuel...? Its juniper berries, jasmine and ylang ylang, so I'm not sure how she got that. Its a strong smell though and it puts me in a good sleepy state in the same way chamomile or lavender tea does. It is expensive but I only use two or three drops for my whole face and neck so I guess it's ok and you get bang for your buck but I still think it's over priced (like most Aesop products). I feel like I will use this until the end of time and it is an ageless product. Only con I can think of is I have had a few minor blemishes since using it, but if my skin is as soft as this, and as bright as this, I will brave a few blemishes.

I have combination skin, and am very prone to breakouts. I used this product while I was touring with my band (i.e. harsh pollutant exposure every day, heavy travel, limited rest --> difficult skin environment), after cleansing my face each night. It actually helped maintain my skin's balance, and I was able to make the entire 2 week period with lovely skin.
The essential oils are quite mild smelling, much like if you received a facial massage at a spa. The oil absorbs into the skin quite quickly when used on its own. If you add this to your normal moisturizer (I have added it to Embryolisse cream as a booster) it will remain oily on the skin for longer.
I recommend as a night treatment, for balancing and calming the skin. It also is a great medium if you want to give yourself a facial massage. 4-5 drops is plenty for application, and it will last you a long time. continued >>

Fabulous Face Oil is an absolute essential part of my skin care regime! My very combined skin (prone to shine and slight greasiness yet dry/flaky/taut in patches, as well as being very easy to clog) rarely responds well overall to one single product, yet I find Aesop's face oil a good all rounder.
It takes a little bit of work to sink in but I don't mind because I find that my skin responds well to a light massage every day. I either use it alone or mix in 2-3 drops to Aesop's Camillia Nut moisteriser and/or Hydrating Face Serum to make my own bespoke hydration formula depending on the state of my skin and also time of year.
It leaves my skin in a lovely state and I wake up with plump skin, the texture fine and smooth and it feeling generally happy and soothed.
It is fairly expensive but a little goes a long way so is great value for money. A lot of people comment of the smell but I find the earthy, unfettered fragrance of Aesop products very therapeutic and clean.

So far, so good! I've been mixing this oil with the Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum as my night-time treatment. However, my skin is so super dry that I've had to put a layer of Aqueous cream over the top of it.
I'd highly recommend it to anyone with dry skin as a night-time boost.

My skin broke out in a rash after 1 application of this. I call it the disastrous face oil. The smell was overwhelming as well. Way too strong for my taste. People with sensitive skin should STAY AWAY from this.

Fabulous Face oil is the perfect name for this miracle product. I've used this year-round for over 10 years which attests to the fact that it works wonders on my dry, sensitive, flakey skin. I apply it at night to damp skin and it sinks right in. I awake every morning with a soft, smooth face. I even use it when my skin is feeling oilier (during the summer) and it never causes breakouts. It's also very soothing. I use Natura Bisse 50% glyco peeling plus and this oil instantly calms any redness or stinging. If none of this convinces you that this stuff is great, the following will. I went on a month-long trek to Mt. Everest. The weather was skin ravaging. Eighty degree days, blazing sun, subzero nights and constant winds. I slathered Fabulous Face oil on twice a day and was the only member of my team whose skin didn't look like an old shoe at the end of the trip. Now that's pretty fabulous!

This is definitely a 5-lippie product. I am using it as my nightime winter moisturizer and my skin looks and feels fantastic. No dry patches or blotchiness, or breakouts. The dropper and dark amber bottle help preserve the ingredients, and make it easy to dispense. I follow the directions and apply 5 drops nightly (well first I iinhale a bit of the scent - you know, aromatherapy!) and massage it into my face, neck, and chest. Let me just say that this winter has been BRUTAL (weeks of single digit or negative degree temps) and I still haven't bought a humidifier....but you wouldn't be ableto tell by looking at my skin! I bought this in Australia so it was expensive but not as much as it is in the U.S. Still, it is worth it I think especially if you have misbehaving skin but usually can't tolerate thick creams.

So far a star product. Nice, moisturizing, non-greasy and fast-absorbing. I mix it with a few drops of the oil-free hydrating serum from the line. The only thing I don't like about this is the fact that the ylang ylang seems to turn into a metallic scent on me, but it soon dissipates.

Fabulous. I massaged it onto my face and it absorbed quickly. Made my skin glow without any breakouts or clogged pores. Didn't expect that from a facial oil. Highly recommended!

As a cosmetologist I have tried many products and no that anti oxidents are first choice over man made products. This is my first review for MakeupAlley. I first learned of this product through a magazine touting that it is a serum the stars use. That statement made me want to try it, however initially the price for the size of the bottle seemed a bit steep. Considering the small amount that is required to use it is reasonable priced.
My first impression of this product was that the smell resembled diesel fuel. I called the represenative of the product to inquire on this as I thought I may have received a bad product. I was told this was a normal scent. Skepticaly I applied it while massaging the face to stimulate circulation before bed with no other products. The next morning my face was as soft as a rose petal and vibrant in appearance.
Nothing I have ever used in the past has left my skin this soft. After a few uses the product smell no longer turned me off as I became acustom. Aesop Fabulous Face Oil is all natural, a combination of natural essential oils and plant extracts. The results are better than any night time moisturizer without a heavy feeling. Being pure oils and plant extracts you would expect this to leave the skin greasy the next morning, it does not. The complex blend of natural ingredients in a concentrated form is much healthier for the skin than artificial lab made ingredients. The price is high at around $50.00 (USD) but keep in mind a little goes a long ways. If you can get past the initial smell you will notice a differece with your skin immediatly.

I received this as a gift from a friend who knew I loved natural products. At first, I was hesitant to try this because the smell was very strong, face oils seemed designed to clog my pores, and given how small the bottle was I was certain the stuff inside had to be very potent - meaning that if it didn't agree with my skin, even the tiny bit I applied would wreak havoc.

I am thrilled to say I was wrong. One only needs a few drops to cover the entire face, where it instantly sinks in with a non-greasy finish. In the morning my skin looks glorious, somehow it has a natural glow to it that I never get from creams (even the ones I love). However, this is not a treatment, merely a moisturizer, so I alternate using this with whatever treatment cream I prefer at the moment. My skin is very sensitive and this has never irritated it nor clogged pores. continued >>
