Good quality, minty on your lips, fun colors and so easy to use! Adding to the fact that it stays on for hours!
These are very impressive for the price point. Revlon has done a great job formulating these matte balms to perform well. The texture is creamy and highly opaque. The mint scent is a huge plus. I also laud Revlon for offering a range of bright and bold hues that one can usually only find at Sephora and the like. My current favorite is Sultry, which is a terracotta pink that looks great as a go-to lipcolor. Of course the packaging is a little bit of a gimmick since the amount of product is much smaller than the vessel suggests, but overall a great value and lovely colors.
SHADES- 10 total; I have Elusive (light warm pink), Showy (bright blue toned pink), Unapologetic (bright warm coral pink), Sultry (deep rose with brown undertones), Standout (deep red).
CLAIMS- Revlon claims, ďA matte finish thatís beyond comforting. Our triple butter complex of shea, coconut and mango butters nourishes lips.Ē
SCENT/FLAVOR- Peppermint but I donít think itís strong and it doesnít linger on my lips.
PIGMENTATION- Fully opaque and they build nicely.
TEXTURE/FINISH- Creamy matte, accentuates lines and clings to dry patches. I recommend exfoliating first (I love the elf Lip Exfoliator!)
LASTING POWER- 4+ hours, fades when eating and drinking; sheen dries down after an hour.
PACKAGING- Twist up jumbo lip pencil; looks matte and represents the color well
PRICE/AVAILABILITY- $6.50 at Target $10 at CVS (may vary depending on store and location)
OVERALL RATING- 5 out of 5. My fav shades are Elusive, Showy & Standout.
DUPE- Tarte Matte LipSurgence. Formula is a dead on dupe. Both have a creamy matte texture that is not drying. The packaging and scent is extremely similar as well. Neither of the products stain your lips (except for the dark shades.) I do not notice any color dupes but the formula is identical.
These are fantastic. Great shade range tosuit any skin tone. They come in bold colors as well as more subdued "daytime" colors and tones. Easy no fuss application.you don't have to whip out the liner and lipstick,or be worried about bleeding. These last all day, transforming to a stain which is quite pretty. If you want to reapply its quick and hassle free. One down side as with anything matte or long lasting tear can be drying,so make sure your lips are exfoliated(especially with lighter shades) and that you keep a lip balm handy
I have three of these. The formulas for Sultry and Standout feel wonderful on my lips. I love Sultry on me but I think my skintone is too warm for Standout.
I was most excited to try Shameless, which turned out to be shamelessly patchy!
All of them leave a nice stain but I'm not impressed by the staying power. I also need to wear a lip liner with all of these.
In love with this lipstick or lip balm whatever its called lol . Anyways the color I have is " Striking Spectaculaire " #240 . Im in love with this color . it last all day I hardly have to reapply it . I love how its like a crayon I can shape my lip real easy with it . At first I didn't like the minty smell to it but now it sort of like it , I really want to try more colors and I would buy this product of the rest of my life lol in love with this :)
Love love love! I cannot get enough of these highly pigmented balms! It is true that your lips need to be well hydrated, but if you're like me and are constantly putting lip balm when not wearing lipstick, this won't be an issue. I love how they last all day on the lips and the color stays where you applied it and doesn't feather at all. I love the range of colors and I cannot get over the pigmentation. I now own four matte balms and am impressed by all four. The color is always perfectly faithful to the packaging. Definitely grab some at wal-mart!
I was hoping to find something that would coordinate with the Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet, but unfortunately the shade I bought, Sultry, was more of a terra cotta. I think because it's such a 'flat' formulation -- no shimmer, minimal shine, pretty full coverage -- the color has to be exactly right or it won't work (for me anyway).
I bought Coquette, after falling in love first with the butters (berry smoothie, wild about watermelon and tutti fruitti) and then lacquer balms (whimsical). Love this shade, I typically go for fuschia pink or berry colours, so this is a little more less loud and obvious for me, but still beautifully feminine and brightening. I also have lips that lean toward the chronically dry and this causes no problems or flakes for me, although I do use aquaphor each night as a preventative.
I have quite pale skin with blue undertones, dark eyes and jet black hair and need bright flushes of colour to prevent looking like a corpse- revlon has become my go-to brand for lip products in terms of colour pay off and feel.
