I was lucky to snag this for free from Zoya (had to pay shipping)! It's a very thick white balm that goes clear on the lips. It has a bit of a menthol-y taste/smell/feel. It's very thick and thus stays on the lips. This is the kind of balm you use at night to repair your lips when they're chapped, not something glossy and pretty, like the last reviewer said. At first, it was very hard for me to get the product out of the tube. There was a lot of squeezing and frustration involved without much payoff. After awhile, it started coming out more easily and now I'm having no issues. This made my overly chapped, wintertime lips feel absolutely new again. I absolutely love it. Will buy this again and again, it's a product that has quickly reached HG status for me.

This is a great lip balm, BUT it depends why you need it. If you need it because your lips are medically chapped and causing you discomfort, then this is your product. It really helped me get over chapped lips caused by getting new braces. If you are looking for something glossy and pretty, maybe you should keep looking. Note: this contains lanolin, an animal product, which is known for its skin-healing properties.
I paid $14 (a lot) for my tube. It has a menthol smell and slight menthol flavor, which is easy to forgive since this is more like a medicine, anyway.

so after years of experimenting and trying ALL the brands out there here is what i do......

i use the "SKIN CEUTICALS-antioxidant lip repair",this is a anti aging "serum" treatment for the lips and what it does is that it is a penatrating multi vitamin and anti oxidant serum that hydrates to the deepist layers of the lips and it plumps my lips really nice.(read my review on it here at MUA).

NIGHT TIME......
first off ,every other night i love to exfoliate my lips(this gives your lips the smoooth texture cause it sweeps the dead skin cells away and that means your lipstick will go on smooooth and beautiful) so what i use for that is the "LUSH- lip scrub" and remember after you do the scrub your lips will be very dry so you MUST put a cream on top of them!!!
after the exfoliation i apply the "SKIN CEUTICALS-antioxidant lip repair" serum and then wait 5 min and then.......
i apply the AMAZING "darphin age defying lip balm"
(now this has got to be the most hydrating-heavy duty lip balm i ever had.)
it is an intense lip balm that i use for night time use only.
i just use this as a nightime beauty lip treatment,guys this is really amazing stuf!!!
so thats it girls,that is what i do:
"lush-lip scrub", every other day
"skin ceauticals-antioxidant lip repair",as a serum underneath a lip balm
"darphin age defying lip balm" as a nightly lip tratment(after the "SC" lip serum)

DAYTIME USE:(OPTIONAL).......
"cle de peau-lip treatment"-,as a lip balm in the morning/daytime(i use this as a "daytime" balm becouse its light,not gloosy,not waxy balm and it gives an amazing feel to the lips,now this would be your "carry around lip balm" as you can smooth it on the lips whenever you feel you need to)

It works! I have tried TONS of chapsticks in my life, as my lips, no matter the season, are always dry and chapped and gross. I discovered a while ago that the best route is a thick moisturizer worn overnight, like vaseline or Eucerin. Those works OKAY but not great. Qtica works much better, though! I noticed a measurable difference after the first use, and I feel with continued usage they are healing more, looking much more soft, even, and hydrated. Feels thick on, and has a slight tingly feeling, which I find pleasant. Would repurchase. Price is reasonable.

I have very large, full lips, so when they get chapped, it's majorly painful! This winter, between the cold and a lot of anxiety, they've become unbearable from being bitten and then licked to soothe, then rebitten, then going into the freezing wind! After nothing - I mean NOTHING - worked to heal them, I turned to this. Well, thank heavens I did! It is so thick and creamy and luxurious. It really does stay on your lips, despite rubbing them together, drinking (at least from a bottle), and talking. I like to massage it in as well. I noticed a huge difference as soon as I started using it.
I also love that it is in a tube! Pots can be very messy and unsanitary. It does seem to take work to get out of the tube, but it is definitely worth it. I love it - totally justifiable price point for this miracle in a tube.

This is the only medicated smelling lip balm I use as I normally worry about menthol irritating my lips. But this stuff gets a free pass and a 5 because it's so creamy and hydrating. It really protects and heals even in sub zero, windy weather. None of my other lip balms have the cling that this has. It stays on and shields your lips-- a heavy duty lip balm and hg.

I get majorly peely dry lips, in the winter and this is a godsend. Most balms I've tries just sit on my lips and moisturize the parts of my lips that aren't super dry. After the first night I used this I woke up and was able to easily rub all the old dry skin off my lips with a washcloth. Usually I have to really scrub to get the flakies off. Like others have mentioned this is a little tough to get out of the tube, but I love that it's in a tube not a pot. If it gets really cold it's impossible to get out, just put it in your back pocket for a minute and it will soften right up. I use this before bed and when I'm around the house only, because it has a medicinal/herbal scent and leaves a white color on your lips (which fades fairly quickly as it sinks in). Overall I love this and would totally call it my HG winter lip balm.

Not too gloppy/sticky, stays on a while, and smooths out flaky lips. It's very minty, which I could do without, and worst of all, is white. Both the mint and the white fade fast, but I'm not about to smear this on in public. Looks like I got rabies. I'll use it up, though. I got mine as part of the Lips and Tips set, with the Intense Cuticle Repair Balm, which is awesome.

I've got a box-ful of products that haven't quite worked to help real dry, flaky lips (particularly after wearing lipstick with heavy pigment). Up to this point, I've depended on Carmex tubes to soften/heal (although its camphor sometimes makes lips worse0 and Avene sticks to wear under lipstick. Just got turned on to this product and it's great. It's a non-greasy and non-drying cream that holds and it's effective two ways:
--on its own to soften lips and eliminate flakiness, dryness
--under lipstick or gloss to keep color smooth and create a shield for lips
Highly recommended.

This lip balm is amazing.
Got this 2 weeks ago and have been using it for a just a week and what a difference. I'm a lip biter, and so my lips are usually pretty flaky. I've tried a lot of lip balms, and normal lip balms get eaten off pretty quickly. But this one has amazing staying power. It stays for hours even through stress (most lip biting)! I only have to apply it few times a day.
Formula is really thick, and at first it feels too thick and hard to spread. But as you spread it, it seeps in, and stays. After a minute it doesn't feel greasy or sticky at all, and doesn't rub or kiss off (my SO loves that). It smells like camphor, which reminded me of an ointment from my childhood, but the smell goes away quickly.
I've tried everything from Burts Bees, to $45 Shiseido Lip treatment, and this one is by far the best. I can finally stop searching for a perfect lip balm. This cost me $12, which was more than worth it.
Update: For the first time in years there are no peeling spots on my lips, and I don't have anything to bite!
Update: After I stopped using it for a while and came back to it (nothing compared) the applicator smelled funny. I think it was residue from my lips that started smelling, so I cleaned it with cotton and Q-tips. Now it doesn't smell any longer, but I make sure to apply the balm with my fingers, rather than round applicator from now on. I guess not enough preservatives.

I have a definite love/hate relationship with this product. I HATE that it has chemical sunscreen in it (because that is of the devil) and I HATE that it has parabens in it (also of the devil). I really hate that I have to wrestle with the stupid tube to get a little pin drop out. But this stuff fixes my chapped lips like nothing else. I rarely get really chapped lips but when I do nothing seems to help except this stuff. I have tried high end and drugstore and everything in between and this is the only thing that saves my lips when they really need saving.

I received this in a swap from a wonderful lady, and I am ashamed to say it sat in my vanity drawer for a few weeks.
Finally one day I saw it there and realized I had never tried it...and oh my god! What an awesome lip product! I swear by it now. I apply it every night and have done so ever since it started to get cold...I have not had cracky lips at all this winter and in fact it makes my lips particularly smooth.
It is really thick, and I have to squeeze the tube SUPER HARD to get even the tiniest amount out of it, but it is really great and I will definitely purchase a new tube when this one runs out.
The balm itself is white so it does not really work under other colors...I think it is best to use it at night.

this is the BEST lip treatment I have ever used. It is SOOO thick. It really helps. Me = 2 weeks post-op from jaw surgery and always breathing weird, my lips are SOOO dry it hurts and they're peeling and bleeding. I got this and it's the best thing ever. It will forever remain on my wishlist. LOVE YOU QTICA!

This is my all time favorite overnight lip balm. I have been using it for about 7 years or so. It's the only lip balm that I know of that actually stays on the whole night. It has a mild cooling sensation feel to it when you first put it on. It's kind of thick and it is white and it wouldn't be a lip balm that you would wear during the day. If my lips feel at all dry before bed (especially in the winter), I put this balm on overnight and it moisturizes all night long. I would definately recommend this product. It is excellent and I have bought many, many tubes over the years.

Oct31/07 Updated to add: I actually don't like this that much. It's very glossy & sticky - it sits on my lips. I think it moisturizes all that well, I wake up with flaky lips - will retry this with more diligent lip exfoliation. Please do not apply on slightly flaky lips, it cakes into areas & is white.
I just got this today so I will review this later. Initial thoughts: Very thick & kinda sticky - doesn't melt into your lips like pure lanolin. I may try to mix some pure lanolin, aloe vera gel & beeswax lipbalm as I have some laying around the house to see if it has the same effect as this fairly expensive lipbalm.

My HG lip balm for night time, as during the day I prefer Zoya Hot Lips instead. This balm makes my lips soft and chap-free and I love everything about it, the packaging, the scent, the texture, the results. It's quite thick but I guess that would make it last longer. Will definitely repurchase if my tube runs out.

I'm disappointed in this product - I received a 2ml sample from the spa that I get my facials at, and I liked it initially and wanted to try it for longer. My friend gave me the full sized tube because she didn't like it after trying it a couple of times, so I decided to give this a longer trial. I'm not sure if the full sized tube is different from the little sample pack I received, but this just didn't cut it for me. It's very thick, to the point where I had to massage the tube before I can get any product out. And once it's on my lips, it is hard to spread around - and even with the tiniest amount I put on my lips, it leaves a white residue on my lips which isn't very attractive. I also don't care for the scent very much - at first I liked the natural scent but the menthol becomes quite overwhelming. As for protecting and moisturizing my lips, it does a decent job, but so so does many other lip balms for much less. I only wear this at nights before I got to bed because of the white residue, and it does seem to stay on my lips all night long which I like (not many balms can claim this). I believe this little 15ml tube is retailed at around $20 Cdn, which is way more than I would ever pay for this, thank goodness my friend gave me this. I would not purchase this for myself when the tube runs out.

Hands down the best lip balm I have ever used, and I have used alot. The tube is long-lasting, and its contents are concentrated, thick, and effective for ridding my lips of winter crusty-chappedness. Highly recommended!

i absolutely ADORE this lipbalm. forgot which website i purchased it from but it's definitely a keeper. i usually wear it during the day, right before applying my lipstick. it definitely does a great job of moisturizing your lips but it's entirely too thick for night. that's when the big guns (CLEU DE PEAU) come it. lol! but this will forever be my daytime staple.
