A huge upgrade from their Expert Wear Eye Makeup Remover, Clean Express Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover likens to my favorite Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover in the feel of the formula. Both products gently, quickly, and properly remove all my eye makeup in no more than 2 applications for each eye and in under 3 minutes. They both claim to be oil-free, and they are in fact quite lightweight, but they do leave a very slight greasy residue that's easy to rinse off with water (I usually use a cleanser too for good measure).
However, there were a few things about the Maybelline makeup remover that I had issues with. I can't stand the tiny pin-hole opening in the cap that dispenses the makeup remover, because it takes forever to dispense the amount of product I need considering that product will start separating from itself after shaking. So I am constantly shaking the product before dispensing it. It can be an arm workout.
The other issue I have with this product is that it only took me a little over a month to use up the entire bottle. I do wear a modest amount of eye makeup almost everyday, but I find that the Neutrogena makeup remover of the same volume as this Maybelline bottle lasts me a longer time, at about 3 months. However, I find that pure olive oil and water are my best options as eye makeup removers, topping both Maybelline and Neutrogena. The Maybelline makeup remover was surprisingly nice compared to its Expert Wear predecessor, but it's not as effective or as conditioning as pure olive oil mixed with water, so I will not be repurchasing.
Very gentle, doesn't sting eyes as other makeup removers I've tried have done. It easily removes all my makeup. It leaves a pretty gross greasy feeling though. I wish you got more product for the cost. Packaging is cute, but small.
This is a really good nongreasy eyemakeup remover that will even remove waterproof mascara (but it takes a little extra work). I like that it doesn't burn my eyes like the neutrogena and almay makeup removers did.
Pros:
- did not burn eyes
- remove even waterproof mascara
- did not leave greasy residue
- dd not irritate skin
- non fragrant
Cons:
- takes a bit of work for heavy duty waterproof mascara
I often use this after my cleansing oil to make sure i got all my eye makeup off and it does the job of removing any residues from mascara and liner.
It doesn't completely wipe away my makeup in one swipe. Even though I still have to rub my eye area a bit it isn't as excessive as I've had to do before with other removers. I just the let the formula sit there for a few seconds and when I wipe most of my mascara is gone. Even when all I'm wearing is 3 coats of waterproof mascara, I usually have to go over my eye area 3 or 4 times. Sometimes using more product each time. Just to make sure its all gone.
It can get a bit greasy but nothing water can't get rid of. I love that its fragrance free and gentle on the eyes. This is one remover that hasn't burned, irritated, stung, left a film or given me momentary fuzzy and blind spots after using it. My eyes feel fine.
The packaging is cute, which is one of the reasons why I was attracted to it. But from how the bottle is designed and where the opening is positioned I noticed the remover will run down the sides and drip sometimes. No matter how carefully you try to pour it. Its a recipe for using more product then you might need. I like how the opening in the top is big enough to fit a Q-Tip down into the bottle. Which is great for fixing mistakes and getting rid of mascara residue under the eyes. Without having to use too much product. I hope they make this in bigger bottles because I can see myself running out by the end of the month.
I don't recommend extending this past your eyes though, it can get a bit greasy. I don't think it would work great as far getting into your pores and removing liquid foundation. I think you might get more bang for your buck with the 3-in-1 Makeup Removing Lotion.
Had coupons for it and after comparing reviews I decided to get a
one and try it out. I tried Mary Kay(my favorite), Lancôme Bi-Facil(good but expensive), Sonia Kashuk(irritates and drys my eyes), also Neutrogena oil free eye makeup remover(leaves oily residue and irritates my eyes).
I uses this on both waterproof and non waterproof mascara and it does a pretty good job on removing them. Performance is 4/5. No irritation, no oil residue. Didn't clean between the lashes completely even after I soak the cotton pad with product and cover eyes for 10 seconds befor wiping. That means it doesn't dissolve the mascara in hard to reach places quick enough. But I can live with it due to price being so cheap. Regular $4.99 and I paid $2.99 for it. For this price if it doesn't irritate my eyes and cleans well, I will repurchase.
Packaging is cute. The opening is a bit big so watch out when you pour it.

i use cover girl lash blast 24 hours - and if you read ANY of their reviews, you know that it's a pain in the nether region to get it off. up until now, i've been using ultra bland from lush, and it's worked brilliantly. but sometimes, i'm super lazy and want something that works a bit faster. i've been thinking about changing my mascara, but i wanted to see if this eye makeup remover would do the job - then i'd not change the mascara! :) also, i drink buckets of moringa tea, so i wanted to see how this would work - it says it uses moringa seed.
so i like this product. quite a bit. about 92% of my skincare and makeup stuff i purchase and use are high end. so when i find something at a drugstore that works, it's a total find! it gets rid of the crazy mascara and my stila waterproof liquid eyeliner that doesn't budge. and my eye area feels clean afterwards. i have to wonder if the waterproof remover contains the moringa seed as advertised (is it just for the classic formula?) but i'll purchase this again.
my one caveat is that i wish they had a larger bottle.

I highly recommend this product. Maybelline Clean Express Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is a two-phase remover. This remover works great with a variety of eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliners...even my Japanese "Kiss Me" mascara...Only two swipes to take away my waterproof mascara and liner. This is the best make up remover i have ever used ....And for $8 dollars, you should try it....

I like to give new products a chance͵ so I tried this pretty pink product several times before throwing in the towel. It BURNS like the cheapest, crappiest product on the market. So disappointed. continued >>
I stopped using makeup removers since my face wash was able to remove my waterproof makeup pretty well, but I got a new waterproof eyeliner and mascara and it is a PAIN to take off. I decided to get a makeup remover again and found this beauty:) This is a very good makeup remover and it's cheap! Cheaper than my usual Neutrogena makeup remover. It was about $4-5 for a reasonable amount.
I shake really well first, take a cotton ball/pad and use enough product for my eyes, take my makeup off, and hop in the shower!
It removes my makeup pretty well, but it doesn't "instantly remove" since it contains a "quickbreak formula" as the product claims. It takes a couple swipes as any other makeup remover. But without any irritation or stinging. It's also oil-free so it doesn't break me out and the best for me, my lashes doesn't fall out!:)
The only part I don't like is the weird stopper. I find it unnecessary and found myself spilling a bit when I'm trying to get more on my cotton ball/pad.
Overall, I will definitely buy this product again!
UPDATE: I found out you can rip that stopper right off if you don't like it, but when you shake it the bottle, some liquid got out :/
