Love this luminizer on my NC42 skin. I have tons and tons of highlighters/luminizers and this one is truly unique. It's a golden, kinda bronzy (but not too bronzy) shade. The shimmer is very fine which I like. You only need a tiny bit to get results. Love this.

This product doesn't work for my medium warm skin tone. Product appears coppery orange, which I find very strange since TheBalm products usually work perfectly with my skin tone. I think this product would work best for those with fair or dark skin tones.

I only use this on my chest area because it's really shimmery and gold based so it doesn't go well with my undertones but on the body is beautiful!

I love this!!
hands down this is the best until now!
I use it as blush, for me it's too dark to use it as a highlighter.
And there's no way I'm gonna use this all over my face.
I love it as a blush, it gives that pretty glow!
And you really don't need too much!

Purchased this in a set at Marshalls. I've only swatched it on my hand so far but it seems to give a nice glow. I think this would be ok for fair skinned people as long as you apply it lightly. In the kit I purchased it comes with a mini brush to help blend it in.

Well, I have been searching for the perfect highlighting bronzer for my skin tone---one thats not to red but gives me a bit of a glow. I have to say this looks absolutely amazing on my golden nc45 skin!!! I got mine at TJ Maxx on clearance but I would have definitely paid full price for it!!The packaging is great too!! I put it down the center of my nose, on my forehead and on top of my blush and it looks beautiful!!! Glad I took a chance on this!!

OMG!!! This is THE best highlighter EVER!! For years I have sought out the perfect highlighter and for years I have been terribly let down. I came across TheBalm products for the first time at a Rexall Pharmacy. Their packaging reminds me of another product line whose name starts with "B" lol. Anyways, I tried this and was blown away. I couldn't get it out of my head so I rushed back and bought one.
Think of Betty as a smoke of illumination where others are a shower of glitter. The difference between Betty and other highlighters/bronzers I have come across is that you cannot make out ANY glitter particles. It is THAT blended together, like a fog and that is exactly what I love about it. That and the fact that it matches my NW45 skin tone perfectly :). If you are like me and you like the glow but hate seeing or making out the individual glitter particles, you will love Betty. TheBalm makeup may not be for all skin tones but their illuminators are. Betty is darker and more golden where Mary is lighter and faintly pink when applied.
For those of you complaining about this being too dark, why? They have the Mary Lou-Manizer which is a much lighter faint champagne highlighter/illuminator that would suit your taste. Betty is the opposite of Mary. Surely, you are not expecting them to repackage the SAME light pale shade under a different name now, are you? Of course Betty Lou-Manizer is darker and more yellow. It is meant to be darker and warmer than Mary.

I was pleasantly surprised by this product. I'm super pale, NW 5-10, and I generally don't even bother looking at bronzers because I like being pale. But I got this in a set and said, "What the heck" and buffed it on....*swoon* It was like, "Is that my face??" I had color on my skin!
Basically, I think this is gorgeous. It's just so rich and pretty. I read reviews and was positive that this wouldn't work on my skin color/tone because of the deep, warm color. But with a good kabuki and VERY light application, it's just beautiful on my skin! It's very metallic-y when swatched, but it just left a subtle sheen on my face when buffed in...there wasn't even much noticeable shimmer, really, which was totally shocking. My skin tone is neutral-leaning-cool, and this wasn't too orange or too red, just warm and sunny. (Okay, in all honesty it's the *tiniest* bit warm/orange for my skin tone.) I should say that I buffed this onto my cheeks, not my whole face. I think there would be too much of a contrast with my neck if I applied this all over my face, and it's kind of too much to be an all-over bronzer. And it's definitely not a contour shade. I know this can be used as an eyeshadow as well, but personally, I didn't care to bother using it on my eyes, although I'm sure it's a gorgeous lid shade.
I guess a con for some people would be that this still looks like makeup. I would say that, if done right, this bronzer/blush is subtle, not natural. It looks like I put something on my face. Not in an offensive/ugly way, just because the color is not cool like my skin tone is and to me, that makes it obvious that I had help getting the glow. For darker/warmer skin tones, this is probably easier to pass off as natural radiance. But I don't care. This product was a happy surprise for me, and God forbid I hit pan on it (which I doubt I ever will), I would definitely repurchase.

I like this bronzer alot... I can see why fair skinned girls would NOT like it however as it is very deep. I have dark skin (MAC NC50) Or Maybelline Cocoa and I wear a bronzer especially in the winter to bring a "glow"to my skin. This is the perfect tone and it doesn't come out too shimmery. Bronzer always looks sparkly when you're applying it because you're standing 6 inches from the mirror most likely. Once you take a step back and let the natural light hit it you will see a fabulous (non-glittery) glow! I found it on clearance at TJ Maxx where I snag all my Balm cosmetics.

I'd been looking for a new bronzer to perk up my face for winter, and read a review of this on temptalia's website. I wasn't willing to pay full price since most balm products seem to end up at TJMaxx/Marshalls, so when I found this in a set w/a nail polish, l/g and compact kabuki brush for $16 at TJMaxx, I decided to get it. I wasn't disappointed - this is a fantastic bronzer on my NC40 complexion. It gives me a luminous glow (I apply w/a stippling brush) and if I want more color, I apply blush on top. Haven't tried it as an e/s yet, but i imagine it will look great. Thumbs up from me!

I recently got Betty LM from theBalm site at 40% off rate. Its a beautifull bronzer + blush and can also act as a great eyeshadow. It has very fine shimmer throughout which glows beautifully under light and it does not make me look like a disco ball at all. Those who like matte bronzer must check before they buy. Amazing quality, great packaging and ton of product which will definitely last me ever. I am NC 42 for reference.

Got this at TJ Maxx for $9.99, and while a lot of TheBalm's products are fantastic, this one falls flat. I was expecting a luminous bronzer. What I got was something that was way too shimmery and turned out an odd coppery-orange on my face. I thought I'd try it as a blush but it still looked strange. Resorted to using it as an eyeshadow--and it is gorgeous on the lids, with good color payoff and minimal creasing--but it is one of the few products that has ever irritated my eyes. Must be all the shimmer. I really wanted to love this product, as I've loved every other product by this brand that I've tried. However, I've exhausted all of its possible uses and it doesn't suit any of them well. Boo :(

This more of a blush or highlighter than a bronzer unless you love shimmer all over your face.
I bought this before swatching and I was disappointed to discover that I wouldn't really be able to use this a bronzer as it's marketed, but it makes a very pretty bronze highlighter to use over a blush or on your collarbones/etc on a night out.
The packaging is cute and well made, and the mirror inside is nice and a good size.

Betty Lou-Manizer
I got this sight unseen or swatched while on a bronzer kick. I am not sure how to rate this as it's not a bad product, but it's not quite what they marketed it to be imo. I didn't expect the pigmentation to be so strong and it's more of a blush/bronzer. I find that it's just a tad dark and too red toned/blush like for my NC20-25 skintone. It comes off on me as more of a peachy bronzed hint of rosiness glow. I think too much and I'd look sun burnt. But with a delicate hand, I think it's a decent blush-bronzer. On my face I don't find this shimmery...just "glowy". i don't think I will be using this on my eyes as it's waaaaaaaaay too red toned and makes me look ill. The packaging is really cute, it has a nice mirror in it and lasting power is good....so overall I don't really have any complaints and i think it's a "ok" addition to my stash, but it didn't really blow me out of the water as far as bronzers go but the quality is pretty good so I am marking this as a 4. I think this would better suit darker skin toned lovelies.
