I've had this flat iron for over a year, after I broke the last one I had.
It's very lightweight. The plates are very thin. But I drop it all the time, and I've stepped on it (what broke the last 2 I owned.) and it's still good as new. The plates are pretty durable. I've seen the coating wear off on flat irons, and usually by now it would have chipped and worn down, but they're still shiny and smooth. (and I use it almost every day.)
You can control the temperature, instead of just a random number, so you know exactly how much heat you're using on your hair, and it has a nice little digital screen, which blinks as it's heating, so you also know exactly when it's heated.
It straightens and curls very well, as long as you know what you're doing. It can snag hairs if you're not careful with it. The only thing I can say that I don't like about it is that because the plates are so thin and not insulated in any way, they can heat up and make it difficult to hold if you use it for a long time.
