I love this sunscreen. I also love Jan Marini's sunscreen as well. This is a fluid or lotion that you apply to your skin, and Jan Marini's is a cream from a tube. This has SPF 55 and Jan Marini's has SPF 30. They are both great products, but I bought this for the SPF rating. I put it on over my moisturizer, and I havne't had any problems so far. It is almost 2 weeks for me, and I am still liking it! My skin does lean dry though.

I've been using this product for 2 weeks now and I have to say I will not repurchase solely for the fact that every single foundation I have worn over it stings and burns! I've tried it under Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, Neutrogena Healthy Skin and Maybelline dream smooth mousse and they all have a stinging sensation over this spf serum. It's unfortunate because this serum has a really nice consistency, the smell is subtle and it sinks into the skin very quickly. Maybe I have to wait longer to let it set into the skin for 5 to 10 minutes, but I'm always running late in the mornings and I just don't see this happening in my makeup routine.

HG sunscreen. Only sunscreen I can use that doesn't break out my skin or make it feel tacky, sticky or oily. I actually just use this by itself when I am being religious with my sunscreen application, no moisturizer, I find that this moisturizes quite well for my oily skin. I go through phases :/ But when I need to reach for a sunscreen regardless, this is my choice. Soaks in immediately, and leaves no oily or white residue.

I've been using this sunscreen for a few years and have always been happy. I wish it were slightly less expensive, buy the high price is to be expected with Kate Somerville products. Great all year round, alone or with makeup.

I received a nice big sample from Sephora. I've been on the hunt for a good, high-SPF sunscreen. I have oily skin and live in the desert, so high SPF and low shine are key for me. I've used this for a couple of weeks now and am really happy how quickly it absorbs and doesn't feel as greasy as other products. I've tried a LOT of them too. I use this under mineral makeup and it doesn't ball up on me. Since I've got oily skin, I use this as a moisturizer/sunscreen.

im very prone to breaking out and ive been searching and searching for a sunscreen that delivers good protection without breaking me out. My skin cleared up really quick once I switched my old sunscreen for this. Ive tried quite a few and out of all of them this one is a keeper. The price is pretty high for me but I guess its worth it. It didnt irritate my skin didnt make me break out and yes it is a bit shiny but hey its an spf 55 what can you expect? All and all its a pretty good product I would recommend.

I just bought this and did not like. It went on just like my other sunscreens. When I saw "serum" I thought watery like a serum. Left my face greasy.

Got a few samples of this from Ebay because I was looking for a powerful sunscreen that didn't give the white mask effect that shiseido ultimate sun protection left me with. For the first few days I was extremely happy with this sunscreen. It went on smoothly like a moisturizer and absorbs quickly. But the best thing was that it went on SHEER and left no white streaks. So I was delighted and seriously considered buying a full sized tube (despite the hefty price) ...However, a few days later I discovered that it clogged my pores and broke me out. :'( So sad, really wanted it to work but I guess it was just not meant to be

This has become a go to product for me. It carries nicely in my purse..It is in a handy little pump tube with a cap that makes this easy to use. Its light yet hydrating and leaves no white cast. I use about 3-4 pumps to cover my face. It takes a little less than a minute for it to disappear ,but after it does my skin looks a little dewier and hydrated. I saw that other reviewers have had some balling, I have not experienced this but I am on the dry side so Im sure results will vary. I love this product no break outs at all and this layers beautifully over other products.
I will repurchase even though this is a bit pricey at $45 .However the 2oz tube has lasted me for several months. I think because of the consistencey you dont use as much so it goes further.

This product is just terrible. It balls up into little white balls when I put it on. It also leaves my face too shiny. I cannot wear this at all.

I love this sunscreen for the face - it is much lighter than anything else I've tried. I've been using MAC's SPF 50 face primer for years, but as I've gotten older the whiteness of it and the shimmer of the product has started to dull out my already less-than-glowy 41-year-old skin. This product is much lighter - very liquid in weight and texture as opposed to feeling like a cream - and it does not leave my face with the white cast most sunscreens do. One star off my overall rating because it does sting in the eye area a little bit after application (I put my eye cream on before applying it and that eliminates the problem, but if it gets too close to the eye then there's some stinging), and the packaging rating is low because the pump doesn't work so well and I really have to hit it hard to get enough product out.
By the way, I have pretty dry skin, so I do wear this with a moisturizer over it, but I think you could easily get by just putting this on your face without moisturizer if you are oilier. It would also be great if you just wanted sunscreen on your face before going outside without makeup. No white cast on the skin at all!

I got a large sample of this at Sephora and it is one of the nicest high SPF sunscreens I have used. For such a high SPF it goes on so smoothly, and doesn't leave your skin oily compared to the Cetaphil SS I was using before. I do not think you need an additional moisturizer over it in the morning, but I have skin that is on the oilier side. I have also used Olay spf 30 in the past which made me quite oily, but this product almost left my skin matte. I was going to buy it the full size of this product, but it is quite pricey and my store didn't have it in stock. Since I hate ordering online for some reason, I decided to give the Josie Maran SPF 40+ a try for its "natural" qualities and to see if the argan oil would benefit my skin. I think it is worth it to invest in a high quality and high SPF sunscreen and this Kate Somerville's is awesome. If I don't end up liking the Josie Maran I will definitely order this online or try to hunt this down in the store.

I recently received a deluxe sample of this from Sephora. I am so happy that I tried it, and I am definitely going out to get the full-sized product in the next few days! I have combination (normal/slightly oily - definitely not dry) skin with significant hyperpigmentation problems. Therefore, I have to wear sunscreen on my face all year around, and the higher the SPF, the better. I love the way this serum melts into my skin, the lack of any residue or greasiness, and the fact that it is oil-free. I also did not find that it left my skin any shinier than usual. No, it is not cheap...but then again, I figure that the alternatives (skin cancer, laser treatments for hyperpigmentation, drastic wrinkle treatments) are far worse - so I prefer to invest in a good sunscreen that I know that I will wear on a daily basis now!

This product is not right for those like myself with oily skin. The shine factor on my face was undeniable- even my husband asked me why my face was so shiny. Needless to say, I returned the sunscreen.

love love love this stuff. for once a great sunscreen with no white mask effect, sinks right in, really no fuss great protection. makes my skin look fresh and radiant! protects really well - I have fair skin and never burn with this. definitely my must-have!

I broke out with large cystic zits on my chin the first time I used it and again yesterday. This sunscreen is terrible and what a shame since all of her products are excellent. Still on the hunt for the perfect spf50 sunblock......

I have very dry skin with a rare pimple here and there, am 27 and ppp, and use RAM nightly. I've been using this sunscreen for the last three weeks and really must rave! All sunscreens I've used prior to this have broken me out (even with proper use/removal) or pilled up under mu. This product truly does everything it advertises: no breakouts, it's light and absorbs quickly with minimal shine or residue, and protects my easily sun burned skin fantastically! I love it :) I do want to mention, for anyone curious about removal, that I contacted KS's customer service and they do not recommend an oil cleanser to remove this ss (I was concerned about removal/breakouts prior to beginning my trial as I've had such poor reactions to ss in the past). I've used my nightly cleanser (they of course recommend their own cleanser but stated that any cleanser will remove it) and had no issues. I highly recommend this to ladies who need a high SPF ss but don't wish to use an oil cleanser or are prone to breakouts with ss :)

I love this stuff. I put it on right after a treatment serum (amore pacific) and before my moisturizer (kiehl's). I have been using it in the winter when my skin is dry with great results. I cannot even tell I have it on. I don't notice a scent to it and there is no white cast at all on my pale skin. I also use it on my neck, decollete, and hands. It's not cheap but a good value for the money in my opinion.

This sunscreen is my HG. After decades of trying every known sunscreen/block out there with no success, I have finally found one that delivers high SPF, melts into the skin leaving no residue, has little to no odor, and is the perfect base for applying makeup. And my skin does not get oily in the afternoon with this one. Every sunscreen I have ever tried is flawed in one way or another- strong odor, greasy, stingy, poor base for makeup, irritating or paste-y looking. This one avoids all those pitfalls. I can't say enough good things about this product. Highly recommend!

Excellent product no too greasy, great broad spectrum protetion, love the packaging and its not too expensive considering other products that are sold at this level. I would recommend this product to all.
