This is a review for No56 Rouge Sur Mesure
I own just two red lipsticks, both are by MAC (Russian Red and Lady Bug) and I love them both. Russian Red has always been my downright favourite but I have to wear a red lipgloss over the top as it's very drying, so I went searching for a lippie that was less drying... And I found it...
The lipstick is a blue-based red, perfect for cool-toned skin, which suits me perfectly. It has a creamy consistency, but once applied (with a lip brush) it has a satin/matte finish. It does have a scent, like cheap candy (remember those chalky, edible lipstick candies?); it's not unpleasant and wears off after a while, so for all those that are sensitive to scented products, check it before buying/applying. The colours are very rich and pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I used a lip liner before I applied it so it hasn't bled and still looks quite fresh, after 5 hours of wear. It does transfer quite easily though, which is my only complaint, other than that it is a fantastic drugstore lipstick and worth the £7.99.
Hugs x

I bought this lipstick online in 'Shimmering Rose 73' which is a perfect nude, MLBB shade. The formula is creamy and smooth, and I often get compliments on my lips when I wear it because it really enhances my natural lip colour. It claims to contain argan oil for up to 8 hours of moisture; I don't think my lips feel moisturised for that long at all, but they definitely do feel softer after application until it all wears off when I eat or drink.
The packaging is rather bulky and I am torn between liking it and thinking it an unnecessary novelty. The lipstick is in a silver metallic bullet tube, which is then encased in a semi-opaque purpose plastic case bearing the brand Bourjois. There is a little slide button that is used to push the lipstick out of the case, and locks into place once the lipstick is inserted back into the case to keep it secure. The case makes the product a lot larger than it is, and the bulkiness of it is a hassle for small cosmetic bags or purses, but it is also a very secure way of storing lipstick.
The colour range is rather dark and I enjoy pretty pink lip colours so I would probably not purchase another Sweet Kiss lipstick unless I find a pink one I like, though I would consider repurchasing this 'Shimmering Rose' shade if I ran out of my current lipstick. The online price is reasonable for the quality of this product, but the unique packaging is what has me on the fence about this lipstick.

I have this in 76, rouge fashion, which is the most brilliant red. Still it is not as true red as loreal or the higher end ones.
I have to use this because I am allergic to other lipsticks as those have more chemicals. Bourjois products are more natural and therefore does not cause any allergic reaction. This red is good. The lipstick is moisturising and creamy which is actually a problem for red lipstick as it tends to bleed and wipes off way too easily.
I use Zuii (organic brand) Classic Red first, then this as Zuii's is extremely dry.
I am ok with the extra effort in my lipstick application as my sensitive skin doesn't allow much opportunity to experiments with non-organic products or higher-end stuff.

I normally don't wear lipstick, but with spring coming, I decided to brighten up my look a bit, and check out the Bourjois counter at my nearby mall. And I came home with this lipstick in 46 Rose corset. The color is bright pink and looks incredible with my complexion. The lipstick is moisturizing and doesn't dry up my lips. A really nice and inexpensive product in a nice packaging.

This is my favourite DS lipstick! If it came at a high end price, Iwould still buy it.
I have this in Rose seduisant. It's a matte fushia pink.
The application is smooth and accurate straight from the tube. The actual lipstick feels firm but very soft against the lips. It glides on beautifully. The effect is quite luxurious and this is why this feels like a HE lipspick.
It smells nice, which is always a plus for me.
The result is a long lasting matte colour that does not dry out my lips at all.
Let me say this again: This lipstick does not dry out my lips!!
Highly recommended!!

I just bought this lipstick in Rose Scintillant, which is a beautiful, subtle pink with a nice satiny shine to it. I usually don't wear lipstick because I like a natural look and also because it easily comes off or gets messy. Also, my lips get chapped so fast. This colour, however, I can really see myself wearing to any type of party as a finishing touch, or it could work for the day-time too. The lipstick itself is thick and creamy, it felt very comfortable and did not seem to dry my lips (and I left it on for a couple of hours). Also, because it is so thick it lasted really long. There's just two things I'm not too fond of: the packaging (the lipstick is in a large, square container that looks fancy but I don't find very practical) and the price, about 12 € in Belgium. Then again, in my opinion all drugstore brands are getting more expensive... so much for experimenting with make-up.

I have this one in Rose Scintillant which translates into pink shimmer, and that it is. I is a shimmery peachy/pinky colour that is neither frosty or opaque (if it is a opaque l/s you are looking for this isn't the one). It looks more like a lipgloss than a lipstick. I love that you can wear this l/s without having to apply a lipbalm first. It isn't drying unlike some MAC l/s
I love that the l/s is hydrating and feels nice on the lips (it doesn't go into the cracks or bleeds).
I love the, sometimes inpractical, packaging and the way you open it - how ingenius and weird. I reminds me of a pen that you close by unlatching it . I looks very chic on my dresser and it is, in this case, a light purple (my fave colour, another plus) On the top of the tube there is a display of the colour (someting I wish more l/s would do)
Bourjois is definitly one of the best drugstore l/s there is (well here in holland then).
Can;t wait to try some more colours

13 feb 2011: To test how long a l/g or l/s stays on I have invented a new little test. I have a good 15 min cycle to the train station every morning. Usually it is always windy (in summer and winter).. If the l/g is still perfect when I get there it has past the lastability test imo ------->>> this is a little drying when I have been outside, I can still see some colour but it isn't comfortable on my lips, I have to reapply it when I get to my destination (minus 1 lippie of original review (which was 4 lippies) continued >>

This brand is usually pretty expensive in Australia so I bought these because they were on a 2 for 1 sale in target in 54 and 56 because I found they didn't have very many colours. That might just be Australia though. These two reds are amazing, they glide on and are easy to work with and apply. The packaging is really nice I would buy these again especially if they introduced more colours here.

I have this lipstick on shade 56 (Rouge sur mesure) and I have to say this is by far the best red lipstick I've had! I wear red lipstick many times, and have tried a bunch of different shades and brands but I always stick to this one. It's a matte red with a creamy texture, not too light nor too dark, I would say the 'traditional' red. It stays on the entire day without drying out your lips, actually it's a bit moisturizing and feels very comfortable to wear. The price is reasonable (I bought it for 15£ more a less), considering I've paid much more for less quality lipsticks. Overral, I would say this is a must-have for red lovers, it's a durable lipstick perfect for every occasion.

I love this lipstick. I have one of the rosey matte tones. It's soft and creamy. I noticed some lipsticks were matte while others were shimmery. The packaging is interesting, the base of the lipstick clicks onto the lid so it secures it. But I'm worried it's fail to close one day. My mum loved this too so she took it. I'm going to get another one, may the fushia or another rosey lipstick!

I'd definitely buy this again, it just looks great, the colour is a bit light for me but it's fine really and that was my choice not cos of the lipstick. It stays great and its moisturizing, and it does not feel heavy on my lips! It has a lil shimmer in it that's perfect :)

I own this lipstick in the lighter purple casing, not the dark purple. The color I have is Framboise pétillant, and it's PERFECT!
I have cool-toned fair skin (nw20) and pretty pigmented rosy lips. This color looks like a purplish dark pink, but when I apply this on my lips it's the most perfect form of my-lips-but-better color! The color is fairly sheer, but I like that about it.
When I apply the lipstick I immedietly look much brighter and better. But I think that other people might not be able to tell I'm wearing anything at all. There is a noticeble difference, but it's a very natural difference. Therefore: PURE LOVE!!!
I love the packaging. The only downside to this lipstick is the typical lipstick smell and taste. In my opinion it's not very moisturizing, but definetly not dry either. I don't mind though. I just apply some Paula's Choice moisturizing lipscreen with SPF 15 underneath and hide the white cast that this gives with the Bourjois lipstick. Looks amazing and I'm well protected :). I'll definetly repurchase. Next time this is on sale I think I'll buy a couple, just in case it gets discontinued.
~~
~~~ PRO's:
- Great colour!
- Sheer and natural
- Therefore perfect for an "no I'm not wearing make up, I just naturally look this good" look
- Not drying
- OK packaging
- The price is pretty good, as it often goes on sale
~~~ CON's:
- The smell and taste
- Not moisturizing
- No SPF

I really prefer lipsticks over lipglosses but always have trouble finding lipsticks that do not dry out my lips. So this is my big find. Bourjois Sweet Kiss lipsticks have a lovely color selection with enough bright colors but are still moisturizing that I don't need to put lip balm on before applying the lipstick. The color coverage is also medium, so it's not too harsh. I also love the packaging, which may take some time to get used of.

I have this in #47 Rose Paré and it is just the most gorgeous watermelon shade of pink. Most of these shades are not shimmery but this particular one is. I reach for this one often because it is very easy to wear. It is a little sheer but definitely buildable. Staying power is average but these moisturise a bit and feel comfortable on. I have to take a lippie off for the packaging because my lid doesn't click into place very securely. I must've got a dodgy one. But I would repurchase in other shades!

I have this lipstick in rose pomponne, it's a medium toned pink with slightly brownish undertones! I like it, but i feel that it’s a common lipstick colour in my opinion - very dupable. Having said that however, i find myself reaching out for it a lot because i like the moisturising texture. It’s an everyday kind of lipstick to me, it goes well with any eye look, or outfit. This lipstick also smells lovely, sort of smells like those life saver lollies i used to enjoy when i was younger. As for the packaging- it is one of the main reasons that attracted me to this lipstick in! It is the most adorable packaging i've seen on a lipstick. I LOVE IT! Overall, i enjoy this lipstick. I probably won't buy this particular shade again, but im definitely interested in trying out some different shades.

I bought this in Red rouge.
Best red lipstick I have used in a loooong time.
Goes on so smooth, its so vibrant, solid and pretty.
As it was a red lippy that I bought I for one never experienced a lack of staying power. It stayed on very well and didn't smudge at all the entire day and evening.
I haven't tried eating anything messy with it on yet haha.
But I love this lipstick. LOVE IT. The reds anyway :P

I have Sweet Kiss in 43 Rose Pomponne - Love this colour and this lipstick! I wouldn’t have tried this colour because to me it seemed too browny/warm/coppery on the tube, but when a make up artist used this colour on me during a spring makeover I absolutely loved it! It goes on in a rich looking pink rose colour, not coppery at all, and has a gorgeous gold-depth sheen underneath. It’s fresh and lovely and goes perfectly with that deep hot pink colour you see in spring fashion this season. The container is lovely too – violet container with a button to release the tube out of the bottom of the container. Twist up the tube, use, and pop it back into the violet case with a snap. Wearing this in my most recent photos. Love it!
