I bought a sample of this foundation from Zuneta.com and omg its amazing. I got it in Shade.6 and it has very yellow undertones that evens out my skintone and makes it look naturally dewy. Its definitely medium coverage and buildable because I need a dime sized amount to cover my entire face for a casual day. Very good product but super expensive so I don't know if I'll purchase the full size yet.

I have been using Shade No. 1 for the past five months, and granted, while it is not a perfect foundation, I think this is one of the few ones with the least flaws, at least for me. Since using this foundation exclusively, I have not broken out (I tried the same skin care routine with my Chanel Mat Lumiere, and whenever I'm using the Chanel, there were minor breakouts). Le Metier de Beaute is a little expensive, and it is not a full coverage foundation. I normally use a SPF moisturizer, pat, and then wait 1 to 2 minutes before apply Le Metier with my fingers. This one coat lasts 8+ hours with no touch up, and no powder needed. Granted, if I go a little heavy on the application, it does look cakey, so it's best for a no-make-up look rather than a full-coverage look. When I want more coverage, I wait for the first coat to set, and then apply a coat of my Chanel foundation powder on top, which is less heavy than two coats of liquid foundation. For those who want a truly matte look, this foundation is not for you - this is semi matte at best and is quite dewy.
Essentially, whether this product will work out for you will depend on your skin. I have used MAC's Studio Fix Fluid and Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation (as a reviewer mentioned below), and both of these broken me out badly. The Laura Mercier Silk Creme is not something I can imagine teens (18 yrs or younger) wearing, as it is very heavy and oily. I don't think Le Metier de Beaute's formulation is very heavy - yes, it is heavier than Nars Sheer Glow and many sheer foundations, but Le Metier goes on very sheer.

I'm on my second bottle of this in color V. I use an Armani foundation brush to apply and this just makes my skin look really good - smooth even color. I used to use CDP foundation but this is even nicer and cost less.

I think it is important to point out that anyone looking to purchase this product should only do so if they have more mature skin, that is not of the sensitive kind. I generally use MAC's Studio Fix Fluid in NW15, OR I swap to Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Beige Ivory and neither of these two irritate my skin. However, after 4 days of this product I noticed that my skin was reacting badly. I had an outbreak of spots, which I never usually get, and the sort of dryness across my cheeks that somebody only gets through non-existent moisturizing or constant dehydration! I believe that the Retinol in this product dried out my skin, so instead of maintaining a youthful glow or increasing collagen production (as is claimed by the cosmetic company...) my skin was left looking parched and felt uncomfortable all the while I had this product on my skin!

Damn I love this. Was really hoping I wouldn't because I'm such a foundation addict. Amongst my current favourites are GA LSF (4), Studio Fix liquid & powder (both NC30), La Prairie caviar (Peche), Teint Miracle (Beige Porcelaine) and Double Wear (Sand). I have this in 4 which is the most perfect match, so perfect it has me peering closely into my magnifying mirror to try and detect it on my skin. It covers but looks crazy natural. "Flawless Finish" you are aptly named. This is medium coverage so I use the flawless finish concealer to cover any red spots I might have. It covers everything else though, including any slight dark circles I might have. It's £40 so more on the expensive end of foundations but totally worth it. It also smells divine, although the smell is very subtle. On my skin it feels dry and soft to the touch - I hate it when foundations sit on top of the skin and stay 'wet' like Laura Mercier Silk Creme, Chanel Vitalumiere, Pro Lumiere and Teint Innocence being a few of the worst offenders I've tried. It also feels absolutely weightless - I forget I'm wearing it. It's just outstanding. Unfortunately it is hard to find in the UK, I only came across it a month or so ago in Selfridges where it's stocked exclusively, luckily they sell it on their website too. It's also beneficial for my skin; for night ie going out my priorities are altered and it becomes purely about what it looks like on my skin ('flawless' is favoured over 'natural') and how long it will last. For day though I want something that will look natural and won't upset my skin like some of the heavier formulas can do. It contains Vitamin A and E which is great because I like the fact it contains nourishing ingredients. Lasting power is great (has lasted on my skin all day since 1pm and it's now 12:30am) but it's no Double Wear obviously. I love it! ***UPDATE*** 08/12/10 Actually, shade 4 is not a perfect match - I think I may need # 3 (for ref my skin is naturally NC20ish). It's a little too on the pink side for me, too. Also, it is not very transfer-resistant at all; a couple of times throughout the day I must have absent-mindedly touched my face (something I never worry about with Double Wear for example) and noticed that foundation had come off in those places so I had to re-apply. I would also prefer more coverage - I know that it is stated as medium but I find that my LSF (also medium) covers better. Still, the finish is lovely and natural and glowy and I like the fact it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. continued >>

Okay I have tried SO many foundations and somehow happened upon this when I was shopping once...it's amazing! I have combination skin with oily tzone (impossible to find makeup that doesnt slide off!) and normal cheeks but sometimes they are dry. This foundation works SO well just blending into your skin...I'd say it's definitely a medium coverage foundation which is what I always look for. (Why would you ever wear foundation if you wanted less than medium coverage?) Anyway, this has a hefty price tag BUT it will last me forever and is amazing quality. Silky and easy to apply but not in any way greasy or runny or 'thin' slimy feeling. It's just silky. I set it with powder just because I always do that to keep shine at bay but I'm sure it would be the same without it if you don't have an oily Tzone like I do.

I purchased this foundation on Monday, and I have been absolutely thrilled with it each time I wear it. Truly, it makes me seem pore-less, which is an incredible thing. THe shop where I purchased it is a small one in my town and has the advantage of having a window right by where the make-up is tried on, so for once I got an absolutely perfect color match. The only complaint I have is that the first couple of times that I pressed down on the pump applicator, the foundation absolutely shot out of the bottle and got into the grout of my floor. But I love, love, love this foundation and I feel it makes my skin look luminous!

I'm not really sure how to rate this foundation. Certainly, it's not for me, hence the 2 lippies. It is thick, and I couldn't find a color match despite trying 5 different shades, and even mixing some together. And it didn't work all that well with my dry skin, even in summer with plenty of moisturizer beneath. However, the foundation has some nice luminizing qualities along with heavier coverage, if that's what you want--and if you can find a color match. (FYI: with its heavier coverage, it reminded me of '90s foundation. That was fun to "revisit" through this foundation, as it produces a very smooth canvas--but it turns out I much prefer the lighter touch of modern tinted moisturizers and very light foundations.)

Very disappointed after spending the money on shade No. 1. It doesn't provide nice, even coverage for my combination skin. It appears to sit on top of my skin, and I have to use a sponge to rub it in. The no. 1 shade is not light enough for me (I'm a BB Porcelain). I find that the foundation is not easily absorbed into my skin and the coverage is poor. Going back to Shiseido hydrating cream foundation in the black compact and my Smashbox Halo.

I read the reviews here and thought I'd give this foundation a whirl... I love Giorgio Armani's UV foundationa and Laura Mercier Oil-Free and thought this would be a good alternative makeup to wear.
Luckily I received a sample (and bought the foundation) as the bottle will be going back to Neiman's. The formulation applied horribly and smelled glue-sunscreen like. The formula actually smells and reminds me of Bobbi Brown's Oil Free foundation that I tried over ten years ago. It was complete YUCK!! For $68 I'd expect what the name implies "flawless". It's interesting too, that the bottles and foundations look nearly exactly like Giorgio Armani. It's funny, the bottles may be similar, but the product lacks the true flawless and impeccable finish of GA or Laura Mercier. You don't get what you pay for here, atleast in my opinion. Sisley's oil free foundation is another good bet, formula superior. What a shame with this.

I am posting the reply I sent to the review below in case there are others with this same question. In answer to your question under the reviews, the treatment is more like a tinted moisturizer and the foundation is similar to Guerlain Parure & Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk. It has a silky texture and great blendability that you can easily work with for sheer to opaque coverage. Both products are awesome in my opinion and you can use them together, I am loving the entire line! continued >>

I have a question rather than a review, I hope it's ok to do that. Does any one know how this foundation compares to the Anti-Aging Treatment Fluid? There is no review for the fluid, I got a sample of it and think it's a miracle - it goes on like a smooth foundation, neutralizes redness (rather than covers it up) and lasts all day. I can't afford both the Treatment Fluid and the Foundation, so I was hoping to hear some points of comparison. Thanks!
...OK, I am adding to my posting. First of all, thanks, cricket, for the comparison. I did get to the store and loaded on the LMDB products: among other things, I got the treatment fluid and the concealer. I also got two samples of their foundation and it is amazing. Even the shade that is too light for me looks great. This foundation makes my face look flawless, yet it doesn't go on thickly or heavily. It is the best foundation I've ever come across.

I think I have shade 2. The SA at BG advised me that shade 1 would be way too light even though I usually need the lightest yellow toned shade in most foundations. The swatches of #2 on BG's and NM's websites show it as very pink. It looks to me to be a neutral very light beige. It doesn't look at all pink in the bottle or on my face. I think it is fairly long lasting. It isn't totally matte nor is it super moist looking. The coverage is buildable, though I usually only do a 2nd go over on my chin. It applies nicely with fingers or a brush. Way less than a pumpfull is plenty for my entire face. It is very natural looking.
This is my favorite foundation since my HG, Diorskin Pure Light, was discontinued. I change foundations in winter and summer. The Dior was a warm weather foundation. I bought this to replace YSL Teint Major which had been my cold weather foundation since last year. I am considering throwing out the YSL b/c this is so much better in every way - no scent, better skin match, lighter texture, equal or better hydrating properties b/c it has hyaluronic acid in it. I like this so much, I'm hoping it works just as well in warm weather.
One last thing. The SA said not to use primer underneath b/c the brand's philosophy is to use natural stuff and they don't think you should gunk up their foundation with silicones. I agree, although, I did try it with a sample of SENSAI CP Brightening Make-Up Base, which I do not think has silicones, and my skin looked even better.

This foundation is medium coverage with a satin finish and lasts all day. Love this foundation and will buy again!

Another rave for this product! What most impresses me most about this foundation is how long it lasts. I'm in the middle of a hot southern summer, made more trying by the fact I'm pregnant. All my other foundations, even my most recent beloved Hourglass Veil and the also long lasting Guerlain Parure Extreme, need to be blotted midday- I mean, come on, what doesn't need a midday touch-up?? THIS FOUNDATION!
Unlike Parure Extreme and other long lasting foundations, I don't get that weird masky thing going on at all. I used to get that as the day wore on; the foundation would almost "lift" off my face and look totally weird. Or, with regular formulas, would just fade away totally and I'd spend the afternoon dusting powder on my face.
This gives me medium coverage, very smooth, matte but glowing finish. Simply amazing.
I bought this on a whim after reading some board raves. Well, that has begun a real obsession with this line. Virtually everything I've tried has been utterly amazing. Again, everything is insanely long lasting and gorgeous.
Dustin at BG helped with shade selection and got it just right! I chose Shade 8 for summer. I'm self-tanning, so I'm not sure of my MAC numbers right now- probably NC 35 or so, La Prairie's Golden Beige is my other closest match, with my old stand-by GA LSF 5.5 being a bit too light right now.

This is a fantastic foundation, I think I've finally found my hg. Fantastic coverage, glowy matt finish, hides pores, perfect colour match (6, and I'm an nc 25-30 yellow toned), lasts all day, doesn't make me oily, doesn't break me out (i've been using it for two full weeks, and no zits or clogged pores).
It also looks good in pictures. I can't fault it. I've been hunting for a perfect foundation for 20 years - this could be it!
UPDATE - now been using this for several months and still absolutely love this foundation, but after playing around with shades, I now mix 4 and 8 and have a perfect match. Took me a while to get there, but I persevered because I like the finish so much. I could also get away with 3. I think this foundation somewhat adapts to your skin tone, if you don't want to fork out for 2 colours.

This product is exclusive to Neiman Marcus and is new, it is similar to Armani's LSF which I loved but became too oily on my skin after about an 1-2 hours. I have this in color number 7 and I am a NC 20-25, CDP 020, La Mer Natural or Buff, I really love this foundation, it stays put all day and I live in a very hot and humid area. The saleswoman states that this foundation should be used with a brush and I agree, I did try to put it on with my fingers but it looked too cakey. It is medium for me, covers my acne scars and redness very well. I would repurchase just because it lasts for so long, I have bought so many foundations only to see them gone by noon due to my oily skin. Cost is expensive but it is well worth the price to me, I do not know if they sell this any other place other then NM. Great foundation just be sure to use a little at first and blend well! I do have to blot in a couple of hours but at least the foundation is still there after a day of work and I cant say that about any other foundation other then Sisley's which is also very good for those with oily skin.
