Mascara -COVERGIRL -So Lashy! blastPRO

I found this at a sale store like Big Lots! and thought name brand mascara for only $3.50? Sold! This mascara is pretty good and it's a great deal for the price, but that applicator wand is super scary. It definitely requires a learning curve to use and even then, it's tricky. The wand has what seems like a great design in theory but doesn't perform well in application. Rather than the traditional bristles on a simple stick wand, this wand has 4 plastic arches around the sides with tiny bristles protruding from them and a ball tip also with tiny bristles all over it. This design with that ball tip looks like it is going to give even the tiniest inner corner lashes some coverage. This is not a grab and go mascara and requires some finesse to keep from stabbing yourself in the eye with this or getting it all over the lids. I wear corrective glasses and use a magnifying mirror to apply mascara and usually have no trouble seeing the brush. This bugger though, was tricky and while it is fabulous at getting those tiny lower lashes when you use a single arched side, it is much harder to get a close application at the base of my lashes without either misjudging the distance and getting it right in my eye (ouch!) or not even getting close. I like to apply mascara at the tightline so there is no need for a separate eyeliner and this product is very difficult to use like that with this brush design. I have been using this for 2 months now and I almost tossed it out at first because of that brush applicator, but I found out it was great for those tiny lower lashes so I kept it for that. Now that I have the brush figured out, I've used it for the uppers too when I am going for a more natural look. This deposits the mascara in a thin layer so it takes multiple coats to build up to what some others are capable of in one. Sometimes a more natural less made up look is preferred and this is great for that. I'd rather use this product with a different brush though as the one that comes with it is just dangerous. You have to wonder, did they test this brush out before releasing it to the general public?!! Even after multiple uses, it's still an adventure in makeup application with this confounded applicator. It looks like a medieval torture device, aaack! This does not need to be near my eyes. The mascara inside is decent, but that brush... Sorry, CoverGirl but this is a fail.

Liquid -COVERGIRL -Clean Sensitive Skin

I'm surprised the Covergirl Sensitive Foundation isn't more popular. Out of all the foundations I've tried over the years, high-end and drugstore, this is the one I keep coming back to. I have sensitive, very dry, acne-prone skin, and this is the one of the few foundations that hasn't irritated my skin or exacerbated any dry, flaky patches. The coverage is definitely on the lighter side, which doesn't bother me in the least. I don't want that heavy, matte, instagram type of look; I definitely prefer a foundation that still lets my natural skin texture peek through. The staying power is great too. Usually, foundations tend to start looking awful as the day progresses, but this one still looks great when I take it off at night.

Liquid -COVERGIRL -CG Smoothers All Day Hydrating Makeup

I really can’t decide about this foundation. I have extremely sensitive break out prone skin, and this foundation has never once created even the slightest pimple or blemish. That’s one of the main reasons I keep going back to it. It also feels like a moisturizer, and actually looks weird and unblended on top of a moisturizer, so I can skip the moisturizing step and put it right on which is convenient. At first it looks dry but throughout the day it gets softer, a little dewy but not oily. It doesn’t settle into fine lines at all. I don’t think it oxidizes but it kind of sinks into your skin and fades throughout the day. This definitely won’t look the same at the end of the day as when you put it on.

The issue is this just does not look that good. It is sheer, not much coverage whatsoever, and always leaves my face with like a gray/blue hue.. I really can’t understand it. I need a yellow undertone foundation and I guess I just haven’t been able to find it, but I’ve tried a million shades and they all just leave my face not looking bright or beautiful at all. This foundation might be better than my bare skin, but just barely.

Every time a foundation comes out with a HUGE color range I cringe because it just confuses me and makes it harder for me to pick a color. Anyway, fortunately, I lucked out, but I wasted a week researching swatches online. I ended up with L20. I returned it though. My main reason for buying this was for the transfer resistant claims which ended up being A TOTAL LIE!!! This foundation transfers everywhere, even if it sets. Can I sue Cover Girl for that? That seems to be the consumer trend now -- suing large companies for not living up to claims...

I use mascara for everyday makeup and I prefer formulas which lengthen lashes and do not flake. This mascara does the job decently. I put it on my 5 am and take it off at 6pm. Live in a tropical country though my office has air conditioning but my eyelids also tend to be oily. No smudging with this one. I also notice better effect when applied twice.
