Liquid -Le Metier de Beaute -After Glow Foundation

on 3/16/2018 4:11:00 PM

I’ve been trying different foundations for..ever! This one has been out of rotation for a little while..for no particular reason..but I used it again today and I love it! I’m fair & have shade 2, which is a great match...not too pale, too pink, or too yellow. I used a damp beauty blender with very little foundation (I like the pump & glass container) and it gave me great, melt into my skin coverage..no separating, creases, or cracks. My face feels clean & smooth, but looks polished. My skin prep was all Mad Hippie products and I’m just really pleased with the results.

Concealers -Le Metier de Beaute -Peau Vierge Concealer

on 3/3/2018 5:32:00 AM

Bought at 75% off what would normally have cost me £88, I imagined it was a great buy. Unfortunately, even at the reduced price of £22, it didn’t meet my expectations. I love the coverage - the shade is perfect for being cool in undertone. I am olive in complexion, but cool tones work well concealing dark undereyes. The coverage is natural-looking and the product itself has a creamy stick consistency, without being too balmy or glowy. So, what’s the problem? Well, it smudges quite heavily. I wear very reliable waterproof mascara and eyeliner, yet I can’t keep them from transferring undereye where I had applied this concealer. If you don’t plan to wear mascara or eyeliner, then this might work you. The second issue concerns the retinol content. Sounds like a good idea, but generally, retinol should be worn at night, not during the day. The last issue concerns the price. I tend to go for high-end cosmetics, but this is simply extortion. The stick is really small and thin - more so than they appear on ads. Won’t be buying again.

Tinted Moisturizer -Le Metier de Beaute -Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Complexe Tinted Treatment Fluid ...

I use this product as a tinted moisturizer and love it for its sheer finish and the fact that it contains some treatment ingredients. My skin is in good shape and unless I'm going to some special event, I don't like to wear foundation. Still, I want to look finished and have tried most of the tinted moisturizers out there, finding most of them more like foundation than not. But this Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge is just perfect for me.

I use its "0" shade; my skin is pale with slightly pink undertones. I apply it on top of my daytime products (toner, serum and moisturizer). While the Peau Vierge has an SPF, it's only SPF 18 and sun protection is not this product's primary purpose, so I always use an additional SPF after my moisturizer and then this. I've never used it as a primer but based on comments here at MUA, I will certainly try it that way.

If your skin is dry, as mine often is, because this product contains a small amount of retinol, when you first use it, it can cause some flaking. So it's important to use the right kind and amount of moisturizer with it. You only need a single pump of the product -- a very small amount -- for the entire face and you can have a beautifully even and not quite dewy finish. It's not cheap but you need so very little -- a bottle can last 6 months, plus the pump bottle can be opened so that you can get every bit of product (unlike some pump bottles that leave you wondering what's left over once the pump stops producing).

I'm still on my first bottle but I will definitely buy this again and have tossed my tubes of Laura Mercier and Eve Lom tinted moisturizers.

Eyeliner -Le Metier de Beaute -Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Noir

Superb eyeliner - deepest black, matte finish, smoothest application, no skipping; tiniest tip allows you to darken between lashes. Lasts until I remove it. This is the best eyeliner I've ever used. Hate the price. Love the look and it's ease of use.

Masks -Le Metier de Beaute -CHEM 60-Pro Peel & GLOW 10ai Mask Set

on 1/1/2017 12:33:00 PM

Definitely not worth the price. I don't mind paying, if it's something that actually makes a difference. This was disappointing. The chem60 pro peel did nothing (I've used it 4 times). The follow up Glow 10ai Mask peels off nicely. But again, no notocible difference. Definitely returning this.
