I'm thinking that the ONLY person in this thread that rated this product a "5" must either work for Deborah Lippmann, or she got the ONLY good set on the planet. Regardless, this was a colossal rip-off for me. I paid $45 for the Gel Lab Pro base and top coat, and both times I used it was an epic fail. You live and you learn: Expensive doesn't always mean better. Both times I used the base coat, I was left with tiny bubbles all throughout my manicure. Now, sometimes that happens because the polish is too thick, but this wasn't the case. I used two different nail polishes for both trials, and all 10 fingers were riddled with annoying little bubbles both times. Coincidence? I say, "not." The instructions say to use thin coats, and I always use a thin coat for my base. Even if I screwed-up a finger or two and applied a little thicker, what would be the excuse for all ten fingers bubbling? It's this formula. I have been doing my nails for decades, so I pretty much know what I am doing. I have always received compliments on my DIY manicures, so I don't believe the bubbles are my fault. I usually use cheaper base coats from Sally Beauty, and I never... and I mean NEVER experience bubbles in my nail polish. Maybe one tiny one on one finger on occasion, but NEVER on all ten fingers with multiple bubbles like I experienced when I used this base coat. HORRIBLE!!! Simply horrible! Mine is going in the garbage... $45 down the drain. As for the topcoat, I have better topcoats that I paid less for, too. I am not sure if the topcoat adds to the bubbling, but it certainly doesn't minimize or detract from it. I don't think it is quick dry, so I have no use for it. I will stick to the base coat and topcoat I used prior to purchasing Deborah Lippmann's overpriced rubbish, and would like to warn others to SAVE YOUR MONEY and AVOID this double catastrophe. She might have other products that are more worthy of the price, but this set is a bust. Oh, and P.S: This does NOT give the look of gel polish on nails as advertised. Nails look the same as they do with a regular mani.

Gel Lab Pro Color - Shape of You

Smooth nude creme. This happens to be almost the exact same color as my skin tone. Opaque in two coats and it does self level. Dries a tiny bit darker than what's in the bottle.A little thicker than typical nail polishes that I'm used to. So we'll see how it wears. From their "gel lab pro" line. Took a little bit of clean up around the edges because it's just slightly almost gloopy. Since I found this at Marshalls at a discount, I would buy it again, but not at $20 retail.

The name sums up what's going on with this polish pretty well. The color is beautiful - deep plum with metallic shimmer. Yet it looks very dull on the nails. The polish itself is very thin and applies extremely streaky. Three coats are must to level streaks out somehow, yet it's far from perfection. The lasting power is another sad story. I like my polishes to last, this doesn't. Nothing good about this product except how it looks in the bottle.
