Nail Polish - Palm Springs
3.0

Palm Springs is a metallic shade of royal blue. I received this polish in miniature size as part of Ciate’s Mini Mani Month 2019. While I think the colour is gorgeous - beautiful royal blue which just a hint of metallic shimmer - the formula is not particularly great. The formula is slightly sheer and watery. Nail line is visible at two coats and you need 3 for full opacity. The formula is also a little runny and can apply patchy, so you need patience and a steady hand with this polish. For best results, allow to dry for around 2 minutes between coats. It wore well for 3 days when paired with base and top coat. Overall, the colour is pretty but I would prefer to find a dupe with a better formula.

A Hot and Flashy suggestion. I like it. Highlighter and blush in one. No big chunks of glitter, light flush of color, some may find not pigmented enough. This is not going to give a highlighter strip just add a bit of luminosity to cheek area. I'm 58 I put on upper cheek bones from outer edge of eye just to center of eye avoiding apple of the cheek area. Following a Wayne Goss tip I add this blush over my eyeshadow. He said this gives a coordinated over all look to make up and it does. When I am doing a natural day (which is most days) very light foundation, this blush, painterly to even out tone of eyelids, mascara and a single finger swipe of blush to eyelids. I do not get a pink eye look but a nice contrast to blue eyes and the little bit of sparkle opens up eyes even behind my glasses. I bought on sale from Ciate website for around $15 with a free shipping bonus. Container has quite a bit of product, but compact is a little cheap and very gold plastic looking. I have traveled with once and did not have any issues. Very pretty blush if you are an OWL try this - don't be afraid of the glitter you will not look like a disco ball I promise.

Gelology Paint Pots - Cookies & Cream

I am very new to Ciaté polishes but I purchased the Mini Mani Month in 2019 and am now starting to use the colours in the calendar. Cookies & Cream is one of the first I have used. It is a nude coloured polish, cool toned and beige based, with a cream finish. I was actually surprised about how much I liked this shade, I thought it might wash me out but it actually flattered my skin tone (roughly N15-20 for reference) and gave me a chic and classic look. The formula was great, fully opaque in two coats and when paired with base and top coat it wore well for 3 days before I noticed tipwear. This is a perfect, simple and understated colour. Great for when you need a palette cleanser or something more conservative. I believe it would suit mostly lighter or cool/neutral skin tones. I would definitely recommend this colour, the formula is great and I love it. One of my fave nudes for sure - A+.
