This mysterious perfume consists of three night blooming flowers: tuberose, ylang ylang and jasmine and they all equally present a conjoined trifecta that for me conjures up a strange image. Imagine a centuries old building that is compact, dark and stuffed to overflowing of the three aforementioned night blooming florals. The building is in a location where the door is frequently open and is exposed to sea breezes and the elements and its common for the rain water to have been hurled in and be gathered on the floor, in the florals and a deep dampness is exuded into the air along with spicy cloves. This perfume smells like that shop. Heady , indolic and floral and a little dirty in this old gothic victorian building. I would love to visit this shop and buy huge bundles of the gorgeous flowers that are making this shop smell so exotic. Mcqueen is a masterfully crafted perfume on par with the monstrous beast known as Kingdom. It even reminds me of the iconic Youth Dew with its deep clove jasmine combination. One of the best perfumes to be released in years.

oh, this was a very expensive treat I found to be worthy of my splurge according to reviews and random ramblings about it...mind you this example I bought is an eau de parfum type not the PERFUME in black bottle... first of all I never quite believed the Madonna ToD comparision because I thought to myself this gem could go in the same vein, but to BE almost the same?no...thank god, no... ToD is a great drugstore example of a good and I mean really good celeb perfume, with prominent sweet amber note, tuberose and stinky type ylang...I wore it couple of times and find it to be waaay too sweet for me...gave it away... A.Mcqueen (in transparent bottle) is a very close relative of ToD but extremely polished and soft...it is not a loud perfume, nor is it ruled by (sometimes very rotten smelling and quite vicious) tuberose..it is more of a ylang reign with supporting tuberose nuance... solid, succulent yet cold perfume that has an ability to combine all of my favorite white flowered perfumes in one (Tuberose Gardenia-checked, Aerin-checked, Fracas-checked,even Tod-checked)...it is very clean and crisp, clear and almost, almost bloody, even metallic in execution...but it is wearable, sweet, inoffensive and likeable...it has earthy, mineral quality dangerously leaning onto ''vegetal'' teritory, but never quite gets there...it stays true to the ''ambery floral'' category... if you ever heard Isabella Blow masterfully explaining the genious of McQueen both as a designer and a person, ''a bird'' was exactly what I feel could be appropriate term for this scent... a scent of freedom, of quietness, of a bird floating through the air...serene, wrapped in silence and translucent,foggy,distant,fragile....maybe even subconsciously tragical...... it is not yelling or shouting, it isn't demanding like grand dame Fracas, isn't too translucent like Tuberose Gardenia or synthetic like Truth or Dare... but somehow -it stands firmly on the ground, it is real,it lives realisticly and with deep set awareness... a beautiful perfume, but the price is overbearing and ridiculous... (now, after half an hour, simillarities with ToD are so negligible....thay are NOT at all the same stuff.......) 8/10...

This was intense and delicious, but nothing that would compel me to seek out a bottle. I had zero violets.
