it was an ok cleanser for me.it leaves my skin a bit taught and dry, but the good thing is it controls my acne!
for that reason only..i wanted to give it a 5, but because it dries out the skin around my mouth i will have to give it a 3 instead.
the price is good for the amount that you get but, once i finished with this , I really wanted to try their enzyme cleanser...

I quite enjoy this cleanser. It is a good water soluble, lotion like cleanser that effectively removes 95% of my makeup from my combination skin. It is non-irritating, and although it has got an interesting smell, I think the little bladderwack scrub granules are mild and effective. It rinses easily, and my face never feels tight or dry afterwards. I could see this being my winter time staple cleanser (I might switch to the enzyme gel in the summer to combat extra oiliness). I've heard some people say that this leaves a residue after rinsing; I'm not sure how they're washing their faces, but I've never had that problem. I splash a little water on my face and then apply a dime size amount of cleanser. Once I rinse, my face feels totally clean. They sell it in the stores with a screw top, which I hate. If you can swing it, steal a cap off of one of the other MB cleansers and screw it on before you buy it. I got mine at Ulta, so I was able to get away with it. The scrub bits don't get stuck in the spout, so don't worry about that. Just make sure you keep it scrupulously clean. I find that the body of a q-tip fits perfectly into the hole in the spout. Overall, I love this cleanser, and I'm very happy with it.

I've been using Mario Badescu's combo/dry-acne skin care regimen. I've noticed little difference in my skin. This cleanser is not quite as gentle as Cetaphil (which has a more gentle texture and nice even around the eyes), but unfortunately it still doesn't remove much makeup. I definitely suggest using a separate makeup remover. Since I wasn't wowed by the regimen, I'm not sure if I'll buy this product again, but I may try using it again with different MB products. While I have to be careful not to use too much of the toner (Special Cucumber Lotion), the cleanser doesn't dry out my skin. The scent of the product wasn't an issue for me either. Not a must-have, but a good product overall.
Update: I've noticed the product doesn't rinse off from my undereye area (even if I didn't apply cleanser there). It's annoying because I then have to use eye makeup remover. Besides the hassle, the eye area is delicate, so I'd rather not deal with unnecessary wear and tear.

I bought this at Kit Cosmetics for AUD$18.95. It was pretty pricey for a cleanser but since it got a lot of praise from celebrities I thought I'd give it a try.
The bottle didn't come with a pump, so it was very hard to get the right amount of product. It's suitable for all skin type so it's quite mild. Sure it cleans away the obvious dirt/bacteria and oils but it doesn't do anything if you have combination/ acne prone or dry skin. It's great for normal or sensitive skin though.
It did absolutely nothing to my skin, it didn't cause any breakouts nor did it help with my breakouts. It's not worth the dosh for me, if it only acts as a mild cleanser.

This cleanser smells like pee, really. The only reason why I'll keep using my 8oz. bottle is because it helped me deal with increased oiliness on my T-zone after coming off oral contraceptives, and fought to keep the forehead tiny zits at bay. It can be a little drying as well, but nothing some moisturised can't solve.
But, this still smells like pee and comes in the worst bottle ever - a screw-on cap, that's all - so I'll not get it again. Results are pretty important but putting something on your face that smells like week old piss from a bottle i have to keep squeezing and shaking to get product out from, is a big no-no. Shame, really.

I hate this cleanser.
I'm not gonna sayit sucks, because I know YMMV, and each experience with a product is subjective.
But, I hate the way this smells, it does not remove my face makeup (I do not expect any cleanser to remove eyemakeup), and it leaves a yucky film. I washed twice with this, the first time with my Olay cleansing brush, and afterwards I had to go over my face with a toner twice before the pad came off clean. Plus, my pro x brush head had nasty makeup gunk and cleanser gunk all over it, something that does not happen with other cleansers.
To me, if a cleanser doesn't clean the face, it is not worth even considering.

I like this cleanser. It's gentle on the skin and doesn't dry my face out. My face looks great after I wash with this. It smells good and has good ingredients. I would give it a 3.5 if I could (HELLO MAKEUPALLEY, let us rate half points!). What I don't like about it is that it leaves my face too "squeaky" (literally!) clean. I don't think I would buy this again because MB has toooo many other great cleansers to choose from.

Okay I did not want to like this! LOL but I really did! Mind you I do use Orgins oil cleanser first to remove makeup and then follow with this. I like it, my skin feels a little coated when I first rinse, but I am weaning myself away from the "stronger chemicals= better cleanser" Gentler cleansers are the way to go if you need a treatment follow up at night with a serum or chemical cream. Keep your face wash gentle.

I probably wont purchase this only because I really am loving their enzyme cleansing gel more. However this is a nice cleanser and works nicely with my dry/combo/acne prone skin. It is gentle and non-drying. The smell isnt that bad, its just a little masculine to me. I use this in the mornings when I dont want something to harsh. I will finish up my bottle but wont repurchase.

Hmm.... How do I put this nicely, other than to say it SUCKS!?
Friend has been raving about Mario Badescu ever since she received the nice samples (which I never got) so I decided to go on a limb and try it out.
I have combo dry skin and the Asian part of me gravitated to seaweed. I had high hopes--REALLY wanted to love this.
It's crap.
I'm rarely one to break out but this has made me into a pimply monster. After using this for 3 days I had zits on my chin, on the bridge of my nose (how the hell does that happen?!), near my eyebrow, all over the freaken place.
I looked like a monster for Christmas.
Damn you Seaweed Cleansing Soap!

i usually like MB's products but this one, although having a great scent, left my t-zone a bit slick while drying other part. it isn't compatible with my combination skin, i guess. the packaging is good, is simple, no fuzz but suitable for the job.

Mario Badesdcu products are hit and miss for me, a few of which I feel I can't live without. But this was definitely a miss for me. The packaging is ridiculous as everyone has mentioned. The SMELL is atrocious. I actually threw mine away finally after trying it again (it had been hiding under my sink, and I forgot why I stopped using it). The seaweed does nothing for exfoliation either. I also noticed that I broke out every time I tried it. I'm just completely baffled by this product. Perhaps it is for those who only need a very light cleanser.

I like Mario Badescu products generally, but I really don't think this cleanser was strong enough for my acne-prone skin. I loved how soft my skin was, but I was breaking out a lot and in some places where I hadn't been breaking out before. Maybe I'll switch to it when I'm older and acne is not a concern, but for now it just didn't do the job.

I purchased this cleanser at the urging of multiple people who raved about Mario Badescu's line. I have dry, sensitive skin and was assured that the Seaweed Cleanser wouldn't make my face feel tight after use.
After the first three uses I was convinced that this was a good match for me. However, after two weeks of use, I noticed that my pores were clogged and I was breaking out more than usual.
Bottom line, if you wear no makeup, have dry sensitive skin, and are looking for an affordable gentle cleanser, I would recommend it. If you do wear makeup, don't use or use a makeup remover before hand to make sure your pores are free and clear of "stuff."

Lovely scent, but not an effective cleanser. Left my t-zone a bit slick.

Been using this cleanser for the past few months. After hearing xsparkage on youtube raving about them I had to try some of they're products. This is one of them.
First thing I noticed was the screw top cap, which is completely useless, I found myself for weeks using to much product by accident just because i cound'nt get the right amount out of the bottle. The bottle design for this product is a serious gripe for me.
Product its self. Not amazing, not aweful, just kinda meh. I didnt find the bits of seaweed any good for exfoliating or anything else really. The product did make my skin feel a bit softer afterwards but it's nothing special worth importing. However it never made my sensitive acne prone skin break out which is a major plus in it's book. Although, despite what other reviewers have said, I didnt have an issue with the smell at all. It was a subtle seaweedy smell, like you'd expect from a seaweed based product.
Overall, alright product, nothing special, won't repurchase.

LOVE this product line so far! I've been using Philosophy for 2 years now and have used everything under the sun besides it and this is the only other product line that I'll now use in addition. This cleanser is lovely. I have very dry skin and this creamy cleanser gently takes off my makeup and exfoliates at the same time. Not to mention the smell is gorgeously light and fresh - I crave it. At first, it took some getting used to as it is not a 'foamy' cleanser with a bunch of artificial agents & chemicals (aka alcohol) that make those nice bubbles to make you 'feel' clean but also dry the heck out of your skin at the same time. But it does the job beautifully and gently - I'm hooked. And the price!!!! You cannot beat the prices - I was so shocked. The packaging is not much to look at, but once more, this is probably one reason why the prices are so low for such high quality & effectiveness. Definitely buying again and again and again.... continued >>

Thoroughly cleanses without overdrying. Great for "maturing" skin that requires gentle exfoliation; helps to keep mid-life acne at bay.

This wrecked my skin. After using it for about 5 days, I was left with dry, flaky patches on my mouth and chin area. It's really drying, I think, due to the presence of Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Avoid if you have dry, sensitive skin like mine.

I recieved this in a swap today.
And was pleasently suprised with it!!
I know that not many reviewers on here liked it.
But I do!!
Overall I would give this product a 3.
Since I've only used it today.
But it was creamy not foamy.
Which I like better.
The price of it seems reasonable for 8 oz.
Which will last me quite some time.
Seeing as how you only need about a dime size amount to wash your whole face and neck.
I like that simple and sweet packaging.
It's very plain.
But I am getting more and more into plain packaging.
[[ Even though I will always love Anna Sui's packaging ]]
Once I run out of this cleanser I will definately see about buying it!!
Peace Love && Lipstick
XOXOXO
