Oh Sunday Riley. Why, oh why, are your products so expensive? Why, oh why, do they work so well? Good Genes is $105. And I've already bought bottle #2 because I didn't want to run out (and there was a good deal), and it's a product that provides pretty much immediate looking results. I notice when I don't use it for a few days. I'm sure there's something out there for less money that works as well, but I haven't found it and instead of wasting more money on products that don't agree with my skin (looking at you, Paula's Choice exfoliant), I'll keep using this one.I started using Good Genes about 4 months ago, and I'm now about 4/5 done with the first bottle. I'm using it about 3x a week now as a nighttime treatment (cleanse + Pixi Glow Tonic + Good Genes + moisturizer), and for that I need about 1/2 a pump. Early on I think I was slathering it on too thick-- I really don't need a full pump to get the benefits. And while it's great as a leave-on treatment, my real love for this product comes from the 'flash facial' bit: mixing Good Genes with the Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip cleanser. For that combo alone, I will keep buying those two products. (I do want to try the REN 1-minute facial in hope that maybe it's a much cheaper alternative someday). When my skin looks dull or things feel sluggish, 15 minutes or so of the Good Genes/Ceramic Slip has my skin in really lovely, plumped shape. It's a magical, magical thing. An expensive thing, but cheaper than professional facials, and it has immediate and visible effects. So for me, it's worth the price and has found a very secure place in my routine.

Wow. I like this a lot. It's another product I was hesitant to try because of its poor rating at Beautypedia. I have oily/dehydrated, sensitive, acne/clog prone skin. Most of the things I try cause irritation, clogged pores, or breakouts. Surprisingly, my skin responds well to this. Depending on how my skin is doing, I use it 1 to 2 times a week and only at night. Any more than that is too irritating. I do not use the recommended 2-3 pumps. I find half a pump is enough to cover my entire face. It has a strong fermented lemongrass scent that I find gross, but it works so well that I don't care. It makes my skin smoother, suppler, and more radiant. I do not recommend it for extremely sensitive skin or skin that has a compromised moisture barrier. Definitely wait till your skin heals before using this because it is quite acidic and could cause more irritation. If you've never used an AHA before, start slowly. Don't use it everyday or you will likely irritate/dry out your skin. While I have sensitive skin, I'm no stranger to AHAs. I've used them on and off throughout the years (Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner, DDF 10% glycolic, Paula's Choice 8% AHA, Makeup Artist's Choice glycolic and lactic acid peels, Glo Therapeutics Renew Serum to name a few). Until Good Genes, I hadn't found one that worked well for me. The AHAs I tried previously were either too strong and caused a lot of irritation bumps, eventually caused constant breakouts, or didn't give me the results I was hoping for. Yes, it seems overpriced, but it's worth it to me. I get good results and haven't found anything better. It lasts a long time because I use so little.Edited to add: I'm currently not using any other actives on my skin (no other AHAs, BHAs, vitamin c serums, retinoids, etc). I can see how this could be especially irritating if one is already using other actives.

Well, what can I say! Amazing, amazing, amazing. Instantly transformed the appearance of my skin. Almost like airbrushing! My pores are minimised, my skin looks brighter, people say I'm glowing. Okay, so this isn't cheap.... I honestly do think that in this case, I got what I paid for, something on a completely different level to other products. Would I recommend.... Absolutely!

I've struggled with hyperpigmentation (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation if you want to be precise ) since my late teens. I would get a smattering of acne on my chin and the marks would stay there for years, as the same area would keep breaking out, it eventually became patches of discoloured skin that I would cover with Estee Lauder's full coverage foundation. I tried all the whitening/lightening products (shiseido, lancome, clinique, obagi clear- this caused a horrible reaction) and nothing worked. I just accepted that this is the way it was. Until Sunday Riiley's Good Genes, this is an amazing product, yes it's expensive, and I had to think long and hard before I took the leap, but this ,in conjunction with Facial Radiance Pads, lightened my hyperpigmentation considerably in two months. I don't have to wear super thick foundation all the time. It's changed my life. It smells like lemongrass, which I have grown to love, and it started working in a couple of weeks , which I adore. I am on my second bottle , this is HG for me.

This stuff has worked miracles on my skin. I have struggled with acne for a couple of years now (in my mid-twenties - thanks, hormones) and nothing had really helped. In January, I got some samples of Good Genes and I can honestly say I saw a difference overnight. I've continued to use it since then, originally every night and now alternating with Sunday Riley Luna (which I would also sell my soul for), and my skin has continued to get better and better. Rather than fighting several active blemishes at any one time, I've been able to focus more on removing acne scars, improving my overall skin condition, and dealing with the odd one or two spots that appear at key times of the month.Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth it. For reference, I used half a pump every night for most of my last bottle and it lasted me around 6 months - I now alternate it with Luna so expecting this new bottle to last a year! And if, like me, you're nervous to shell out before you see how your skin gets on with it - I emailed Sunday Riley directly and they sent me about 10 days' worth of samples (5 sachets, more than enough for 2 applications in each one). That's what really sold me!Edit: I only ever use this as a treatment, not a mask - it makes me want to cry to think of washing it off! Let it work on your skin overnight for best effects

This product instantly brightens my skin and my pores seem minimized overnight. While the $105 price is high, I would rebuy this because it actually works. I have very oily, very sensitive, very acne-prone skin. I usually can't use most skincare products because some ingredient in most formulations make me break out. This doesn't break me out and makes my skin better! As far as the price, it is less expensive per ounce than other products.

This stuff is great the only thing for me to complain about is the price. It also has a strong scent of lemongrass which unfortunately isn't my favorite but it wouldn't stop me from using it . This is a 40% lactic acid peel which is actually pretty hard to find. Great formula great ingredients highly recommend . I would also just like to note this is one of my favorite skincare lines I've tried tons and I find this one to be pretty effective . Luna and Juno are amazing I'm waiting for Bionic to become paraben free

Okay.. I have to say that i just can't understand how this got so many good reviews. Ordered this from net-a-porter and used it for about two weeks, sometimes as a mask and other times as a night serum. This was seriously the worst thing I have ever done to my skin. I have very dry skin och a lot of uneven texture and skin tone. But it has got so much better since I started to use Zenmed's microdermabrasion scrub. I thought this would be the perfect final step to get the last stubborn scars away but no! It dryed my skin out to bad that my skins texture look so horrible again. Like I literally been trying to repair the damage this product did for two weeks now. It made my texture so bumby and even more scared, at least it looks that way. For the first days it made my red marks fade a lot, but only when I used it, when I stopped they were back to normal again. It also clogged my pores so bad!! Never again. My skin is so damaged and inflamated from this so it will probably take a month to repair, even longer maybe.

In just one night, this turned my relatively clear, acne-free skin into the texture of an orange peel with tiny bumps everywhere. I took a few day break from tretinoin to patch test this but what a mistake. Even my 14% glycolic acid serum doesn't irritate my skin like this did. My forehead is covered in little whiteheads that itch horribly. On the plus side, I'm glad a $$ product didn't work for me.

I'm going to return it because it makes my face dark. I've been using it on and off for a while because I thought it's a coincidence but it's not, makes my face look greasy so it can only be used at night, and I agree with Paula (Paula's choice) that is nothing more than an overpriced exfoliant. I'll just stick to my Tatcha enzyme peel and Diorsnow.
