I don't know how people are getting good results; this was a major FAIL for me. First, I could hardly stand how sticky, slimy, and gross this feels. Who could stand it long enough to see if it works?? If I was able to leave it on for a couple hours, all I saw was that the lesions or acne would dry out. But I can get that same result with a $6 pimple cream from the drugstore. I did see a tiny bit of cleaner pores, however, nothing so extreme as to make me want to keep this. And the smell...........gross and disgusting....eugh :p This is on its way back to Sephora as we speak (as I write this, actually).
I had a facial that turned nasty on me. I felt fine after the facial until the next day when my skin turned really red and I broke out everywhere. My face has never broken out that much in my life and it was really painful! I decided to try out Good Genes to treat my skin. OMG! This saved my face! The redness went considerably down the next day and the pimples became less painful. Within several days, my face was healed! I've been using this every 3 nights and take 2 nights off so my face doesn't become immune to the effects of lactic acid. The only thing that bothers me is the packaging. It doesn't come with a lid so some of the product gets dried up and gets stuck in the opening of the pump. But the product works so well, I will have no hesitation in repurchasing this when it runs out. I've been using this for about a month and I've used about one third of the bottle. Yes, it's pricey but it's worth every penny to me. I have also been using Sunday Riley's Ceramic Slip Cleanser, Juno, and Skin Adrenaline. My skin has never been better. I can't wait until the reformulated Stimulant III comes out :)

I feel I must preface this review after reading some of the negitive comments. No product is going to work on 100% of people, 100% of the time. Just not going to happen. It doesn't mean the product is bad, everyone has different chemistry, skin type, climate, etc. I know I've said this before, and often, but I can't help thinking it warrents repeating. So as far as the Good Genes goes, and for most of the SR skin care line..Just amazing. It really is. I will start off by saying this stuff is expensive by most peoples standards. The best way in my opinion to start with this line is to get samples. I live nowhere even close to a store, but I was able to get free samples via the mail, and I must say Barneys in particular goes above and beyond the call of duty to accomadate people. I live in FL, and the Barneys in Boston didn't blink an eye when I inquired about the line and possible samples. They are #1 in my book for customer service. I was sent samples of Ceramic Slip, Good Genes, Stimulant 2 (which is magical) and Skin Adreniline. Let me say I ordered every single product exept the Stim 2 because I guess they are being repackaged and there are none at the moment to be had. The samples are generous and you will deffo be able to tell if it's something thats going to work for you before buying. For me these products showed results FAST. I have rosy cheeks and pale skin..so the pink really stands out and I hate it, lol. ONE treatment of Good Genes in the evening and when I woke up the next morning my pink cheeks were gone! My pores were almost impossible to see, my skin had the proverbial glow. I was shocked. We've all read those claims a thousand times over. For me, this was the first product that delivered. My skin is very sensitive and the Good Genes did feel strong on it, but the more I used it, it became a non issue. I don't use a lot of retinols and the like so that is to be expected. Just something to keep in mind when trying. Good Genes is a HG product for me, as is the whole skin care line. Theres nothing I've tried that I haven't loved. The Stim 2 should be a National Treasure for people with skin like mine. It really works like a miracle. (And it should for over 200$) As I said, they are expensive, BUT they last forever, a little goes a long way, and I do feel for how they deliver results, they are worth the hefty price. Good Genes doesn't have what I'd call a good smell, but it doesn't bother me, it quickly fades and again, is worth any displeasure because of the results. I can however, see the smell as possibly being a deal breaker for a select few. Good Genes used in combination with the line only enhances the the effects. The Good Genes makes my skin look plumper, younger, healthier, more even, brighter, softer..so the name is quite accurate. All in all I recomend Good Genes 100%. HG all the way for me. Just get the sample to make sure it's right for you.

After one night of use my skin was glowing the next morning. Plus it cleared up a nasty reaction that I had with the Sunday Riley sunscreen. I use this 3 days on and then I take a break and rotate in another serum and moisturizer from another line. Out the entire collection this is the only item that I will re-purchase. It definitely made a difference in my skin within a months time.

A strange product, whose purpose is so across the board, I don't know what to call it. A moisturizer? A mask? An exfoliator? Ironically, it's also become the product I panic about running out of. I have taken to using it at night, in a small amount on areas which are not breaking out and layer more heavily on old marks I want to fade. This stuff is potent, especially on raw/open skin. I learned that the hard way when I smeared it on when my face was freaking out a few weeks ago and it leveled my skin as if I had used a sandblaster. I'm not sure why it's so much more mild on healthy skin, but, the exfoliation is gentle when used that way. On open acne or cuts, prepare for things to get much, MUCH worse before they get better. Aside from that and the sour/acid smell, this really does work great to reduce fine lines and give a beautiful glow to the skin. *edit* Bumping this to a 5. The one product I truly cannot live without!

Another favorite. A citrusy-lemongrass, lactic acid serum which keeps my acne at bay. I can't live without it. $105, but it has lasted me 2 months, using it every day. I use it every night after washing my face with Ceramic Slip cleanser. If I need any more hydration, I just put a little Juno oil on because it is breathable and a dry oil, so it won't clog my pores. Overall, my skin looks like someone else's now - someone who was born with better skin!

I'm fairly picky about my products. I have combination skin with dark spotting from acne. In the past two weeks, I have without question seen change in the luminosity and texture of my skin. I know the price is hefty, but the product is distinct and I find it is working very well for my skin.

Good Genes is an exfoliater for the face via latic acid. One of the things about this line I do not like is it really doesn't do a good job of explaining the products and how they should be used; there is no brochure explaining products and the wording on the box is not too helpful. Her line really is all about SA and customer relationships. That said...
I received a bottle via a swap with a super MUAer. That caused me to contact Barneys and I found a fantastic rep at the Boston store. She designed an entire routine for me (day and night) based on a long conversation. Good Genes is not to be used during the day. It's a nighttime treatment used alternately with Serum III (I have dry skin during the winter). It can be used for 5 nights in a row for extra help or layered on heavily and used as a mask once a week.
Did I see results instantly? No. But other than moisturizers, I don't with most products. Weeks later, however, the glow is there. I now use the whole line and will review all the products.

I've read raves about Good Genes and so I was eager to get my hands on a bottle when Barneys carried it. It isn't cheap for 1oz, but usually serums can last a while. The bottle is beautiful and looks great on the restroom counter.
The serum itself is a citrus scented gel that absorbed quickly. It is sold as a treatment serum, so it doesn't really moisturize, it just "fixes" skin. With that said, I didn't see drastic changes. Initially, my skin was a little red and tingly with the first week of applications but then it did nothing to my skin. I was disappointed that the product didn't live up to expectations.

I love this product! I have had it about 6 months. I use it as directed. You can use it 5 nights consecutive when you need some extra help or use it under your makeup when you want your skin to look extra fantastic. It does have a funny smell when you first use it. But, the smell disappears. In the winter you might need to layer something on top. It does say on the box it is lightly moisturizing.
I will keep this in my skincare routine. Please get a sample to try. They are very generous at Barneys NY in sending you samples too try.
