Not going to lie, this lipstick kind of sucks. It has poor staying power and settles into the creases on my lips, creating an awkward, crackly effect. I also really don't like that it doesn't come sealed-- that could be really unsanitary in drugstores where some people decide it's okay to swatch or try on a new lipstick without buying it. Probably won't repurchase.

I would NOT buy this particular color again. Maybe a different one from the same line. I hate this color. I finally decided to get a red and this was not it. It comes across as being fuchsia when swiping it across the lips once. I need to layer it in order to get a RED look. Too much work. I expected a almost richer deeper red? A disappointment!

i love the colour of this. It has that whole pinup look to it and it does not wash out my olive complexion. The best part about this is that I can wear it by itself for that amazing true red look, or pair it with a sheer lipgloss to tone it down and make it more wearable for every day, as long as it is used with a light hand. I didn't give it 5 lippies because it does dry out my lips when I use it, but lip balm under can fix that. As well as I've seen cuter packaging, because I am a sucker for that. But other than that it is an amazing product. I will repurchase when it runs out

Gorgeous vintage red! I love the vintage pinup makeup look from the 1940's and its hard to find a great red lipstick to reproduce that look. I bought this for $5.50 and it's my new favorite red lipstick. The color is dense and creamy and is comparable to my MAC lipsticks. I love this Maybelline lipstick line!

Found out about this read in Essence. It works for me in the winter time for a showstopping retro red. It's good!

I am looking for the most amazing true red lipstick, as I've had terrible luck getting lipsticks (that seem to look like a perfect red to my eyes) turning out to be very pink.
This lipstick is close to true red. It's dark. It's creamy and a little messy. So far I really like it, but I will keep looking for the best true red!

HOLY GRAIL RED! I am an NC15, well I would be an N15 if they made it. Everything I mean EVERYTHING turns either orange or fuscia on me. This is a deep blue based TRUE RED that does not change. I had searched for an entire YEAR for the perfect red and had settled on Delux Beauty's "Chili." But, as we all know, they went tits up. I was SO HAPPY to find this amazing replacement and not at high end prices. FABULOUS. My go to clubbing "retro face" lippie.

This is one of my favorite true red lipsticks! It's not drying and applied with the proper liner, makes quite a statement - especially if you wear a nude face. This stands out on its own without being LOUD! With such an amazing staying power, there really is no need to reapply. It can give you 8 hours easily! With a clear gloss on top, it'll just amp up its potency - so that would work for an evening look. This is one terrific shade - especially on WOC!

This is my favorite red lipstick, so far. It was an impulse buy (one night at 3 am in Rite Aid...lol). I love love love it!! I dont understand why it looks so light in one of the reviewer's pictures, as it is a deep red. I apply one layer of it and it is fairly dark, which i like a lot. I love darker reds as i think they are very sexy and womanly, or even edgy if that is the look you are going for. I dont think this red makes you look "old" at all!...like i said, it can give you a dark, edgy look if that's what you are going for. I wouldn't suggest this to girls under the age of 18 for that reason though. It's "mature" but not "old." Also, it smells really good like vanilla, and goes on super nice. It has a really nice shine to it and doesn't bleed. I do use red lip liner w it though, and am considering getting a clear gloss to put on top of it to make it look really bad a** =]

I like this lipstick! It's one of my favorites! I bought it specifically because I thought that it might be a match to my favorite nail polish. I'm old fashioned, what can I say?
I wouldn't call this one a "true" red since it's not fully neutral. Despite the fact that there is a rose colored undertone to this lipstick, I think that it could suit just about any skin tone since it's got a dark, muted pink undertone. It's very wearable and can be toned down for more demure occasions by patting it down and revved up by slicking it on.
The formula is incredibly rich and the finish is pretty glossy looking all by itself. I personally haven't had any issues with feathering of any kind but this isn't the kind of lipstick I tend to feel comfortable wearing all day long anyway. I tend to take this one off completely whenever I go to eat or drink something just to keep it from spearing and staining my skin. In general though, I think the consistency of this lipstick is great. It goes on nice and smooth, adheres to the lip without sliding off, and is wonderfully moisturizing.
This one is a favorite red of mine, and trust me, I have a ton of them! The dark pink undertone is what gives this color a unique edge and seductive femininity. It's unlike any red I've ever seen. I can't wait to try some more of the Color Sensational line's red collection!

This is a beautiful bold red. It's not too orange or blue. It works great with my skin tone. I do notice a slight taste, but it's not that bad. I hardly notice after a short period of time. It tastes way better than L'oreal lipsticks.

*UPDATE* I stumbled across an old Estee Lauder lipstick in Mango (orange-red) in my mom's case and am never going back to this. Warm reds are so much more flattering on me! On second glance, this blue red isn't very wearable on my very yellow skintone. I still like the texture though, so I'm keeping it at 3 stars.
I bought this for a "Great-Gatsby" themed party, and got so many compliments! I usually don't wear lipstick (instead going for tinted lip balm), but wanted a more dolled-up flapper look. This is a true RED, and extremely pigmented! I have warm, fair skin and blue eyes and it drowned me out under florescent lights but was okay in the dim light in the party lol. It's definitely not an everyday look for someone as fair as me, but for a pinup or glamour style, it's great. I'd suggest wearing a touch of blush with this if you're fair so it doesn't completely wash you out.

The only red I currently own. Saw this on a model in an ad and just HAD to get it! It was sold out at 3 of the places I went to buy it so I gave up and waited for them to restock.
If this looked on me the way it did on the model, it would get a 5 star rating. It's an adequately pigmented dark blue-red, doesn't dry out the lips but will emphasize flakes like most mattes, and doesn't turn 'mood lipstick pink' before it's time. However, on the model in the ad it seemed like it had a hint of glimmer and looked glossy. Obviously they used other products with the lipstick when they did that shoot!
Essential to use with a good lip liner.

This is the first red lipstick that I have brought as I usually stayed away from red as I felt they looked too bold on me, and wore mostly pinkish brown and 'natural' lip colours. I decided to give this a go as I've been wanting to try out a red lip and this seemed like a good option. I love the colour! It's not a fire-engine red, but more of a red rose colour, (if that makes any sense), and it really compliments my medium skin tone. The lipstick does feather a little and becomes quite noticeable, so I made sure to wear a lip-liner underneath which also helped with the staying power as well. They have a nice smooth creamy texture and glide on effortlessly. The one I have smells a little odd, but nothing too major. I use this also as a lip-stain, just dab a bit on my lips and apply some lip-balm to add a bit of colour on my lips before I head out in the morning. Gives my face a 'brighter' look as well. So far I love the lipsticks from this range and would be keen to try out others from this line.

This has ousted my Kat Von D Hellbent as my go to red lipstick. It is a deep, true red. I haven't experienced feathering, but I have a lipliner just in case. I think this is a shade that'll compliment any skintone. I wore it half the day and my lips weren't dry. That's very important to me when it comes to lip color. Would definitely buy again.

Very pretty red...Will feather without liner. I like it blotted and reapplied for depth...then topped with a thick clear gloss. That's what I did in my posted photo. Received many compliments :)

This is the closest I've ever gotten to the deeper red I'm always searching for. I adore the color and I always get compliments! It's a bit high-maintenance, but I invested in a good neutral lipliner which helps. The only true downside is the smell. I best describe it as a mix between dirt and fresh Play-Doh. Not a good smell. BUT, for great pigmentation, comfortable wear, and the fantastic shade, I still give it 4 lippies. I just wish it had a better smell.

My HG of red lip colors! I've written several reviews for other red lip sticks and many were just too much. This one is GORGEOUS on my NW20 skin. It is far from too red. And the price is so affordable compared to other brands I've tried. I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I'm going to be needing it again very soon!
