I've been using this as cuticle salve in very, very small amounts over a cuticle oil, and love it.
I received this as a gift, and probably would not have bought it for myself if I tested at the store, HOWEVER, the product has really grown on me and now use it almost every night before bed. I like to call this stuff my bear grease, because I imagine this is the consistency and oiliness of what bear grease would actually be like. This stuff is thick and potent.

At first I struggled with it because I was using too much and not working it into my skin well enough. I also tried it on my feet and since my skin is tougher it didn't every really soak in and left oil marks on my sheets. I'd put it on and just lie there for 30 minutes and was still greasy. Also, I'm blessed with fairly naturally moisturized skin so it was too much for me in general.

I've now started using it as a cuticle cream, which it has EXCELLED at, despite my moisturized skin I do have dry and gross cuticles I have to manage daily. I use a cuticle oil (currently using Revitalize from Red Carpet since it came with the kit), let it soak in a bit, then rub super small amounts of the salve in over the top. I've tried it without the cuticle oil and my cuticles don't stay as moisturized for nearly as long. And then for extra measure any bits that were left, I rub my hands together to really get rid of any greasiness. I do this right before I turn the lights out because it leaves my hands a bit slick and I don't want to do something that would end up washing it off or wipe it on anything. I'm a big lavender fan, but my husband unfortunately finds the smell so potent that he has sneezing fits if I put it on around him. My hands smell nicely of lavender whenever I wake up in the morning, so the scent lasts for a really long time if you don't wash your hands.

Very greasey, smells good though :) makes my cuticles feel good. If applied at night before bed. Great product. Package sucks though, hard to get the lid off.

I have actually been using this as a lip treatment at night time. I found it too greasy feeling for my skin. It does not absorb fast for me and I don't like waiting for lotions to absorb in order to get dressed. But it does work pretty well on my lips as a moisturizer. The smell is way too strong for my liking though.

Great product for softening cuticles at bedtime - but the packaging sucks. It's hard to get the tin lid off at the best of times, but when I took this on a plane, the change in pressure created a vacuum inside that made it impossible to get the lid off for days.

I started using this product a few weeks ago to try something other than Solar Oil on my cuticles. I'm not a huge fan of lavender fragrance and bought the product knowing that is is lavender-scented. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I like the scent, probably because it smells like authentic lavender rather than a synthetic fragrance. It really, really works well but as others said is pretty greasy and best applied just before going to bed. The consistency is like a wax with a low melting point - as soon as your finger touches the product it melts. This factor plus the packaging does not make it very portable. Like other reviewers I'm not enamored with the "tin" style packaging as it's hard to get the lid on and off when your hands are greasy! But I'm at a loss as to how to improve the packaging and all other things considered this is a terrific product.

I am a nail/cuticle biter. I'm trying to break myself of the habit by taking better care of my nails. This was on sale as a set with the Aloe and green tea shea body cream and some nail files. The lavender smells just like dried lavender and a little goes a heck of a long way. This is perfection in a tin. My nails and cuticles are so soft. This will last forever and ever but I will buy lots more. I'm keeping this next to my bed.

i said i would buy this again but it could take me yrs to use this tin as its so large! i got this on sale and figured it was worth a try since i love lavender and i have very, very dry skin due to a medical condition that destroys my salivary glands. i always write that when i review anything moisturizing as i need such products more than most (even those with very dry skin, you have no idea what that really means till your moisture glands start dying off!;(

i really stay on top of things, meaning i use a moisturizing soap, then an oil on my skin, then a moisturizer, and a thicker balm on heels, elbows, sometimes my arms and legs in general. though i am diligent with my hands especially, they are always dry. my cuticles are the worst. i first found the packaging annoying as the lid of the tin was very hard to remove. i would keep a piece of thick string under the lid with a part hanging out, so i could pull the string to help lift the lid. this works with any product ina tin, that is difficult to open. but once you get passed that its a nice product with a soothing, comforting scent that does the job if you use it continuously.

by comparison to burt's bee's lemon cuticle balm, this is much, much, oilier, so perhaps not as portable because your hands may feel a tad greasy. however, used at bed time it's just fine. i could kick myself cause the lemon version was just on sale and like this its a large tin, but less than half of what the burts bees cost for their tiny lemon cuticle balm, which i like too).

i am trying to use up what i have before i needlessly, thoughtlessly, buy more so i remembered i had this big tin sitting with all my nail supplies and realized i should keep it by my bedside where i will actually use it and have nice looking cuticles again!

(by the way, the label tells you it is best used when resting or at bedtime because the "natural oils may leave skin slippery until they soak in and penetrate." just thought i should add that as they acknowledge this is best before going to sleep, but that they also say it will sink in, and yep, it does)

All natural ingredients are a plus for this salve. It's pretty greasy because of the oils in it ("lavender and chamomile oils, join vitamin E and eucalyptus in a base of canola and sweet almond oils and beeswax") but it does seem to absorb into the skin. I use this at bedtime on my hands and feet. The pleasant lavender scent is both soothing and calming. My cuticles have greatly improved since I started to use this salve. It has also greatly improved the condition of my dry feet.
