Love the look and feel on my C2-C3 skin. I use this in the summer when my skin is darker as a bronzer, because it is really a cool toned rosy bronzer, not a blush. As long as you keep that in mind, it's amazing- on cheek bones, temples, legs and shoulders too.
Really glad I found this; it's hard to find a good bronzer for cool toned skin.

It's a pretty color, but too dark on my PPP skin, and wayyyy too glittery. It might be ok for going out at night? But I feel that no blush should have this much glitter in it.

This is an extremely shimmery golden rosey tone on my slightly tan face.
I normally use this as a highligher above the apples of my cheeks or slightly over my regular blush depending on my mood. Recently, I happened to chance upon some instructions about using the Shimmer blush as a blusher instead of a highlighter. I was very excited about trying and did it this morning. I poured a tinsy winnie bit of Dianthus on a piece on clean tissue. Adopting the buffing method, I picked up very little powder on my fibre optic brush. I buff the powder onto the apple of my cheeks and used finger to blend slightly. After which I finished off with a little Loose Powder over the cheeks. The effect is wonderful. The look is natural but with a tinge of golden shimmer on the apples. Very subtle and not loud. I am usually very concern about shimmer blushes as it tends to exaggerate the pores on my cheeks. However, 4hours after application, all I see in the mirror is beautiful flushed cheeks and the illusion of SMOOTH skin (due to the golden shimmer perhaps?). I am very pleased and is seriously considering getting a full size :). Try it!

I'm not really sure how to rate Dianthus blush. Because as a blush, I hate it. It is super, super, SUPER shimmery. Bordering on glittery. And that's just not what I go for in a blush. Some shimmer is okay, but this is way overkill. But as an e/s, I think this is very pretty. The website calls the color "cool rosy pink with subtle [AHAHAHAH] gold highlights". I'd just call it golden pink, maybe a little more neutral than cool. And I'm not sure if I would ever purchase this again. Because as an e/s, there are plenty of golden pinks out there similar to this. But it is pretty, and I love Alima. So I'll say "yes" to a repurchase. For a rating, I guess I'll say 3, though it would really be 2.5 since it can't be used as a blush IMO. If it were classified as an e/s, I'd call it a 4. Confused yet? Me, too. I'm gonna call this puppy done.

I love shimmer blushes too (especially Alima's) but Dianthus was just too glittery for my tastes. I had the same problem with Sugar Rose but since that shade is a light pinky champagne it was somehow less obviously OTT than Dianthus. Although it is described as a cool shade, Dianthus did not register as particularly cool on my cool-toned PPP skin. The actual blush shade was nice and gave a beautiful flush but the overall effect was as though my cheeks had been gilded -- could be fun for a night out but not a good everyday look for me. I may try this as an eyeshadow but I doubt I will like it since I like glitter on my eyelids even less than I like it on my cheeks. If Alima made a version of Dianthus with fine shimmer (like many of their other shimmer blushes) I would buy it in a heartbeat. ** EDITED on 10/21/2007** Okay, I may have been too harsh on Dianthus the first time around. It is still quite shimmery, but I have found that applying it with my Trish McEvoy #37 Bronzer Brush allows me to minimize the effect of the shimmer. On me, it looks like a more shimmery Milani Luminous or a pinkier NARS Orgasm (with more of the large shimmer particles which are present in Orgasm). Although I will likely use up the sample I have I don't see myself purchasing a full-sized jar of this particular shade. I will update if it continues to grow on me...

First and foremost, I LOVE shimmer blushes. I'm not talking about those shimmer blushes that makes you look like a disco ball, I'm talking more of a healthy shimmer/glow (think MAC MSF). The website describes it as a cool rosy pink, which I think is a pretty good match - to me, it looks like NARS Orgasm on my cheeks, but with a little more gold than pink/peach.
Overall, I love this blush. I can see it working for almost all skintones. If you don't like too much gold, you can definitely layer it over a pink or peach blush to get more color instead of shimmer.
