I bought this sunscreen while in Tokyo. I love it and am completely sad that I've used the whole thing. It was dirt cheap (I bought two little containers of Anessa Sunscreen (one is the "white", the other is "perfect") for about US$20). The packaging is almost completely in Japanese, so I can't tell you anything truly intelligent about the contents, etc., but I hope that something I write here is at least slightly useful to you. The labeling on the bottle says "White Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA+++ by Anessa". The packaging leads me to believe that this product is also waterproof. I don't know if it's indeed SPF 50+, but I can tell you that I do not change color when I wear this sunscreen. My arms and legs are usually covered with SPF 15 or 30 (from another line), and they usually pick up a little bit of color. Not my face, though...with the Anessa White Sunscreen, it stays the same sickly pale color (haha). Seriously though, I have some pigmentation on my face, and it does not get darker in the sun (as one has come to expect). Even nicer, my usually-sensitive skin does not react with this sunscreen. No funky little bumps or redness or scaling or rashes. It also stays matte so I use it under makeup with great success. It has a light, almost-watery texture. I think some might find that it has a whitish cast, but I don't care, because it's usually on under makeup OR I just make sure to take a few minutes to blend it in (if I have to skip makeup). There's a little bit of some kind of fragrance -- kind of a green, grassy, herbal-y smell that reminds me a little bit of cucumbers. In other words, very light and not too perfumey. It's supposedly a "white sunscreen" and I guess that means that it is supposed to lighten your skin? Dunno about that, but I am convinced that my spots did not get any darker with this excellent sun protection. Overall, I love this sunscreen. Too bad they don't sell it here in the US! (Well, it just means that I must get back to Japan one of these days) Excellent product!
